om26erwhen i do 'quilt import foo.patch'    the patches directory is created in the source tree and not in debian/  what am i doing wrong?08:22
hakermaniahello, I have successfully packaged my program. I want to know how exactly should I upload the package to REVU. I've signed the files with my GPG key which is the same with the one I have mentioned at the Lanchpad open ID. So, there is no problem with this. The only problem is that I don't know how exactly to make dput upload the package for me to revu. What is the exact command? The files generated so far are: some-1.0/ some_1.0-0ub08:50
geserhakermania: did you call "debuild -S" inside some-1.0/ ?08:59
hakermaniaofcourse :) First debuild then debuild -S and last debuild -b (to check if the .deb is working properly)09:00
geserdput revu some_1.0…_source.changes09:01
hakermaniaonly the source.chages file?09:02
geseryes09:03
geseryou might need to "debuild -S -sa" to get also the source mention in the .changes file (and get it included in the upload)09:03
geserom26er: see /usr/share/doc/quilt/README.source09:05
hakermaniaOk, I did so. But I think you are wrong. The file some_1.0-0ubuntu1_source.changes includes only some info and my GPG signature. How will revu get the whole source if I upload only this file (which is 1.2KB) ?09:08
hakermaniageser: ?09:12
angeloHi!09:13
angeloI'd like to help in packaging. Is there some work i could do?09:15
geserhakermania: dput looks at those entries in the Files: section in .changes and uploads those files too09:15
hakermaniageser: Ok, thx very helpful09:15
hakermaniaangelo:  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment go to the Packaging section to read more.09:18
angelothank u hakermania :-)09:24

gauravaHi All .. I am a newbie and trying to create a sample patch file following the instructions mentioned over here <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToFix>19:21
gauravaBut facing some problem .. can anybody help me out19:22
ari-tczewgaurava: what's the problem?19:53
gauravaWhen I am running the command  "$debuild -S -as" I am getting the following error19:55
gauravaunknown Debian architecture s, you must specify GNU system type, too at /usr/bin/dpkg-architecture line 144.19:55
gauravaI am running Ubuntu 10.1019:56
mr_pouitI guess you want '-sa', not '-as'19:58
ari-tczewgaurava: ^^19:58
ari-tczewor use debuild -S then pbuilder build *.dsc19:58
gaurava-sa is working for me ..20:01
gauravaJust thinking .. is the sequencing of the options matters?20:01
ebroder"-sa" is a single option20:01
ebroder"-as", on the other hand, is the option "-a" with value "s"20:02
gauravaoh ok .. now I can  make a sense from the error. . seems like -a is to specify the architect and it is taking 's' as its value20:02
gauravathanks for the info ..20:03
gauravabut i cant find these information in a quick glance of 'man debuild' output .. ny idea ?20:04
ebroderdebuild passes most of its arguments to dpkg-buildpackage20:04
gauravathanks all .. now i am able to follow it in a much better manner ..20:06
jdongLOL there's a Jimmy Wales chrome extension... that adds his personal appeal to every website20:15
