russell--Gibby: i think so, i manually added a fake channel for S-video00:25
russell--now i just need to find the s-video/composite dongle so i can test it!00:26
russell--no one seems to stock the things anymore00:26
Gibbydongle? there is 1 built on it00:26
russell--not this one00:26
russell--at least not on the outide00:27
russell--(wintv-hvr-1600)00:27
russell--also will need another dual rca to mini-stereo adapter for audio line-in00:28
russell--wires--00:28
Gibbyhttp://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hvr1600.html00:29
Zinn[www.hauppauge.com] WinTV-HVR-1600 Product overview00:29
Gibbyyes there is00:29
russell--it has s-video in connector00:29
russell--i don't have an s-video source!00:29
russell--i have a composite source00:29
Gibbyahhhhh00:30
Gibbyi have 1, will be getting rid of it in 2 weeks00:30
russell--i did manage to dig up an s-video/s-video cable00:30
russell--the particularly annoying thing is that the box with the hvr-1600 came with what i'm looking for, but ... i can't find it 2 years later00:31
russell--so, probably somewhere in the house00:31
russell--but drifted under 2 years of alluvia00:32
Gibbyi hate when that happens00:34
russell--it has one positive effect, i get to review my holdings of various crap as i look for it.00:35
russell--do i really want to give my s-video input a "channel"?00:36
russell--otherwise, how do i "tune" it in "watch tv"00:36
russell--?00:36
russell--i notice now that i can't seem to change channels off of it00:37
russell--(i said it was channel 3, now i am stuck on channel 3)00:37
russell--this is reinforcing my underlying assumption, that tee vee is a gigantic waste of time! ;-)00:38
Gibbythought you said you had this working prior to 10.1000:42
russell--not that00:44
russell--just had a couple tee vee channels decoded00:45
russell--never had tried this s-video input thing before00:45
russell--something to do with channel groups, i think00:46
Patrickdkheh, I just pluged my adaptor into the a/v header to get a composite input :)00:47
russell--"adapter"?00:49
russell--what adapter?00:50
Patrickdkhttp://store.hauppauge.com/accessories2.asp?product=av_cable00:51
Zinn[store.hauppauge.com] Hauppauge Computer Works Online Store- Hardware00:51
Patrickdkone came with my pvr-350 :)00:51
russell--nice. would be tempting, but i'm using a mini-pc board with only one pci slot00:52
PatrickdkI'm really thinking I'm going have to get one of them, pcie -> 4x pci things, to keep my mythtv going :(00:52
Patrickdkthe only useful tv cards are pci00:52
PatrickdkI'm using a full size tower00:53
Patrickdkit's really a full blown server00:53
russell--so, like, how are you *supposed* to configure "channels" for s-video (and the like) inputs?00:54
russell--mr google pretends not to know00:54
PatrickdkI just go into channel editor and make my own00:54
Patrickdkthat was back in mythtv 0.15 though00:54
PatrickdkI haven't attempted it since them00:54
Patrickdkthen00:54
russell--is that in mythtv-setup or the setup within mythfrontend?00:55
Patrickdkthe backend setup00:55
russell--(too many effing "setups"!!!   HATE!)00:55
russell--okay00:55
GibbySchedules Direct00:55
Patrickdkhttp://www.nextwarehouse.com/item/?405913_g10e00:57
Zinn[www.nextwarehouse.com] STARTECH (PEX2PCI4) Product Page -- NextWarehouse.com00:57
russell--$377 ... ouch00:58
Patrickdkya, but I will have pci slots in a no pci slot motherboard00:58
Patrickdkbeen looking at a nice 5 pcie16 slot motherboard with a x4 and x1 pcie slots00:58
russell--Gibby: what about "schedules direct"?00:59
Patrickdk4 pvr-2250 cards would only use about 180mbit out of the 2000mbit available on a pciex1 slot, so it would be fine00:59
russell--Patrickdk: yeah, i suppose before all you had was money, now you have a thingie!00:59
Gibbythat is what i use to fill my guide data since i have my directv hooked up to my hvr-160000:59
Patrickdkgibby, what if you just want like a, vcr channel :)01:00
Patrickdkto use it without source like that01:00
Patrickdkpersonally, I always use it for a webcam channel, to watch the baby crib01:00
Gibbythen it is just an input01:00
Gibbyi just use mythzoneminder to watch my camera's01:00
Patrickdkwell, I did say this was back in mythtv 0.15 :)01:01
russell--Gibby "just an input" gets translated to a channel list how?01:03
russell--in other words, like, how do i select that input from the frontend?01:03
Gibbynooo, if it is not providing channels just a single input, you just use the change input function on the frontend01:04
russell--where is the "change input" on the frontend?01:04
* russell-- doesn't see it01:04
Gibbypress "M" then go to source01:05
Gibbyit might be input or video also01:05
Gibbybut under M01:05
Gibbyyou could just look up the key for it01:05
* russell-- still backing out the the mythtv-setup ...01:06
russell--what do i put in "input connections" for the video sources01:07
Gibbyin the backend setup?01:08
russell--yeah01:08
Gibbywell what are you configuring?01:08
russell--the analog s-video 101:08
Gibbyso follow the link i posted earlier01:08
russell--that is giving me stuff for the analog tuner01:09
russell--i don't have a signal source for a tuner01:09
russell--(like no cable tv)01:09
Gibbywhat do you have hooked up to your tuner then?01:09
russell--digital over the air tv on the digital side, s-video on the analog side01:10
russell--so, in capture cards, i have two01:10
Gibbyok, so you follow the link i posted earlier for the ATSC then right?01:10
russell--yes01:11
Gibbythen what are you asking?01:11
russell--i have two capture cars set up, MPEG (/dev/video0) and DVB (/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0)01:12
Gibbycorrect01:12
russell--i set up dvb, that works01:12
Gibbyfor s-video you select composite 101:12
russell--for the mpeg, there are multiple inputs01:12
russell--i picked "S-Video 1"01:13
Gibbyhold on let me check my backend01:13
russell--there is also, Composite 1, S-Video 2 and Composite 2 and Tuner 101:14
russell--S-Video seemed like the most likely choice01:14
Gibbyyes, it is S-Video 101:14
Gibbywhat do you have plugged in to the svideo in?01:15
russell--okay, then in Video Sources, I have a "Digital" and an "Analog"01:15
russell--nothing at the moment, but i want to plug in stuff like an external DVD player, a VHS player, a game, etc01:15
russell--via a composite-to-s-video adapter which i don't have in my hand at the moment01:16
GibbyVideo Sources is what is used to populate your guide data.... if you aren't using something like schedules direct... delete them01:17
russell--okay01:17
russell--(that isn't obvious, btw)01:17
russell--what about "Input connections"?01:18
Gibbywait01:18
GibbyNow setup a video source and call it, i guess you could use digital, but that name is used other places I would call it antenna, thenset the listings grabber as EIT01:19
russell--okay01:19
russell--is there supposed to be a long (20-30 seconds) delay when i pick "new source" or whatever?01:20
russell--A01:20
Gibbyno01:20
russell--oops01:20
Gibbyno your guide data will be update for your OTA channels01:20
Gibbynow*01:20
russell--channel frequency table: default?01:21
Gibbyuhhh sure01:21
russell--okay, i have a "antenna" video source01:21
Gibbynow go to input connections and then DVBInput01:22
GibbyIn display name put antenna and for video source select antenna01:22
Gibbyi keep quick tuning at never, then scan for channels01:22
russell--okay, scanning01:23
Gibbythen when that is done, do fetch channels from listings source01:23
russell--okay01:26
russell--anything for the s-video?01:27
GibbyOk,missed a step sorry01:27
Gibbyyes go back to video source01:27
GibbyName it like like S-Video01:27
russell--another new video source?01:27
Gibbyfor lists grabber chose no grabber01:27
russell--okay01:28
Gibbythen go to input connections, s-video1, put the name in and for video source select the name you just gave the new video source01:29
russell--done01:29
Gibbythen you are done01:29
russell--it is asking a bunch of channel questions, ignore those?01:30
Gibbyyes01:30
russell--k01:30
russell--input priority?01:30
Gibbydefaults01:30
russell--k01:30
russell--okay so, leave the setup?01:31
Gibbyyep all done01:31
russell--i get a warning about s-video 1 "is set to start on channel Please add, which does not exist."01:32
Gibbyignore it01:32
russell--k01:32
russell--starting front end01:33
russell--"watch tv"?01:33
Gibbyyep01:33
russell--lol01:33
russell--returns01:33
Gibbyhuh?01:33
russell--i get a "please wait" and then it comes back to the front end top menu01:34
Gibbydid it find channels when you scanned?01:34
russell--where would i look for them01:34
russell--?01:34
Gibbywhen you did the scan01:35
russell--yes01:35
russell--2401:35
russell--of them01:35
Gibbyand you ran the mythfilldatabase when you exited right?01:35
russell--yeah01:35
Gibbygo back to your backend and delete the s-video stuff, it might not like it since there is no video01:36
russell--the last time i ran "watch tv" it was stuck on a "channel 3" that doesn't really exist01:36
russell--okay01:37
tgm4883"is set to start on channel Please add, which does not exist." is usually an error you don't want to ignore01:37
russell--i'd be happy to not ignore it if i knew wtf i should do about it01:38
russell--is there any way to delete just one of the entries?  the options seem to be "delete all cards" etcs01:39
GibbyD01:39
russell--sweet01:40
russell--should i delete the "capture card?" or just the video source?01:41
Gibbyvideo source, then blank out the input01:41
russell--the input seems to have been snuffed01:41
russell--okay, back to frontend01:42
russell--okay, that works again01:42
Gibbyyou got your TV channels?01:42
russell--yes01:42
russell--so, now what about the s-video?01:43
Gibbyyou have to have something plugged in01:44
russell--hmm.01:44
russell--okay, back to the basement!01:44
russell--but, what *would* i do if i had something plugged in?01:45
Gibbywhat we just did before01:45
russell--oh, well01:45
russell--i have a game that is plugged in through a switch box thingie, when i scanned "channels" it thought it had a signal on all the channels, so maybe it is getting a signal from the game.01:46
Gibbythingie lol01:46
russell--composite into the switch box, s-video out of the switchbox to the card01:46
Gibbyyou don't scan s-video01:47
russell--i have no idea what is inside the switch box01:47
russell--yeah, but i mean to say that it thought it saw a signal on all 12000 channels it scanned01:47
russell--so there might be a signal there01:47
Gibbyno you don't scan it lol01:47
russell--let's pretend there is a signal01:49
Gibbyok, then we jsut do the above01:52
russell--gah, now i can't change channels!01:52
Gibbywhat happens when you change channels?01:53
russell--oh yes i can01:53
russell--i just don't get on screen stuff01:53
russell--video craziness01:53
russell--i can exit, but i just get a blue screen with remnants of the tv display01:54
Gibbyhuh01:55
russell--lol, i can start the setup blind, but the display is frozen01:55
Gibbywtf again01:57
* russell-- is just a dumb user01:57
russell--any idea how to restart X on this thing?01:57
russell--i can start a second X server01:58
russell--by dropping to a console and startx -- :101:58
tgm4883restart gdm02:00
russell--workie02:01
russell--okay, Gibby, what part of "do the above"?02:02
russell--oh, set up the source etc02:02
russell--okay02:02
russell--okay, i am looking at live tv02:05
russell--now, how to switch to the s-video source?02:07
Gibbypress M02:09
russell--okay, that gives me a menu02:10
russell--source?02:10
Gibbyi don't know, it changed in 0.24 and i don't use it right now lol02:11
russell--okay02:11
russell--well the screen went black!02:11
Gibbydid you hook something up?02:12
russell--just the maybe-thing i mentioned before02:12
russell--maybe it's not putting out a signal02:12
russell--i'm not getting a menu to go back though02:12
Gibby<<<<drunk.... explain a little more02:13
russell--i restarted gdm again02:15
Gibbyyo ucould jsut kill myth instead02:16
russell--there are two options, switch input and swith source02:16
Gibbytry either02:16
russell--lol, screen messed up again02:16
russell--i'm using intel video btw02:17
russell--on the mb02:17
Gibbywhat video profile are you using?02:17
russell--i don't know what "video profile" means02:17
Gibbyfrontend setup02:18
russell--appearance?  theme chooser?02:18
Gibbyi'll check in 2min02:19
Gibbysetup/tv settings/playback02:20
Gibbyscreen 302:20
russell--current video playback: CPU+02:22
russell--trying normal now02:25
russell--a little stuttery02:26
russell--back to cpu+ now02:29
Gibbyand what is the video card?02:33
russell--00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)02:34
Gibbytry slim02:34
russell--okay02:34
russell--slim gives me smoother video, but choppy audio.  cpu+ seems to give me smooth audio but green flickers in the video. load avg 2+change02:48
russell--more video problems with cpu-- as well03:02
Gibbyhmmmmmm it should effect audio03:12
Gibbyare you using a backend/frontend combined?03:13
russell--it's okay, i've given up for now03:54
russell--i think the board is maybe underpowered for the task03:55
russell--Gibby, i appreciate your patient efforts to help me03:56
Gibbyyep np,03:56
Shadow__Xwhats the cpu? if you dont mind me asking03:57
Shadow__Xi arrived late03:57
russell--an atom 330 dual core thingie (if that's the right number)03:58
russell--it was like $100 for the motherboard and cpu a couple years ago03:58
Shadow__Xyeah03:58
Shadow__Xare you trying to watch hd on that without gpu accel?03:58
russell--all i know is i installed mythbuntu and carnage ensued.  i tweaked minimally03:59
Shadow__Xwell you should be able to run a backend or a frontend on it but, its not recommended because it is underpowered04:00
russell--what is recommended?04:00
Shadow__Xbut since you own it already you could watch hd on it if you got a vdpau compatible video card04:00
russell--i only have one pci slot04:00
russell--and the tuner card is in it04:00
Shadow__Xa real processor maybe like a core i3 or equivalent but, it depends more on what you plan to do with the system04:01
Shadow__Xwhats the motherboard04:01
russell--D945GCLF204:01
russell--intel04:01
russell--dual core 1.6GHz04:01
russell--cpu04:01
Shadow__Xare you trying to use that as a frontend or a backend? it sounds like you are trying to use that as a backend04:02
russell--it is small and quiet04:02
russell--both ends04:02
Shadow__Xif so, although it can run it will be slow and at that point might be a bit frustraiting04:02
Shadow__Xalso if you plan to watch HD content you need much more of a cpu04:03
russell--just watching over-the-air teevee04:03
Shadow__Xthe only way an atom system can watch HD content as of right now is by offloading, so by a nvidia gpu that supports vdpau or with a broadcomm crystal hd that does offloading04:03
Shadow__Xrussell--: right but OTA should have HD content as well04:04
russell--yeah04:04
russell--some are04:04
Shadow__Xyeah04:04
russell--mostly teevee sucks though, so ...04:05
russell--the only thing that got me started on this was that our digital converter box died04:05
russell--(i had the box built from before but was unmotivated to finish it)04:05
russell--(by the lack of compelling programming)04:06
Shadow__Xok04:07
russell--i think we'll probably run our old teevee and this next (free to us) converter box into the ground and then pop for a digital teevee then (maybe in a few years)04:07
russell--i think we went a good month since the last time we turned to tuner on.04:10
russell--anyhoo.  thanks again!04:10
* russell-- goes04:10
miststlkrhello all.   I have a .23 frontend running with multiple monitors.  the menus work as I'd like, only taking up one monitor, but when I watch a video it spans across them.  is there a way to fix this?08:05
miststlkrcome to think of it, running mythfrontend in a window would be preferable at times08:05

NashaHello all. I have an issue where my MCE Remote (RC 6) is all of a sudden giving me 2x button presses for all arrow keys, since adding the same hardware and config files to a new frontend. I've tried altering repeat and delay settings in lircrc, to no avail. Any suggestions on how else to rectify this?13:01
NashaAnyone?13:12
superm1Nasha, did you modify the lirc init script or anything like that?15:08
superm1that could mean that the kernel handling for lirc button presses and lirc daemon are both catching it15:09
superm1and there are some lines in the lirc init script that turn off the kernel handling (until it's fully ready for prime time)15:09
Nashasuperm, corrcet15:17
NashaJust caught onto that problem about 10minutes ago, and disabled the kernel drivers15:17
superm1Nasha, okay cool, glad that's all it was15:22
superm1if you do want to use the kernel drivers and find a good way to get all mce buttons working consistently and easily configured from them, i think that's where we want to be eventually15:22
superm1so feel free to explore15:22
NashaWill do, biggest issue was getting back to normal. Now that i know the cause, i can play around. But i wasnt aware of the changes previously15:24
NashaJust a quick question, should adding blacklist ir_core to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf be all thats needed to stop the driver from loading?15:25
NashaBecause after a reboot, its still being loaded15:25
superm1that will likely cause some worse problems15:26
superm1i would recommend sticking to the way the lirc init script turned it off15:26
NashaI see... Well it didn't work anyway :P15:26
superm1it's not a matter of stopping the driver from loading, it's actually disabling a portion of the driver's support15:26
NashaWhat is that way? I wasnt aware of such15:26
superm1do you still have a copy of the original lirc init script before you modified it?15:27
NashaThis line was obviously missing from my installation, because ive had this issue since day one15:27
NashaI guess not, i copied my conf files over from my previous machine15:28
superm1oh15:28

superm1you'll want to merge your current script with that one using something like meld15:29
NashaOk, thats all new to me, but im sure i can figure it out :)15:29
NashaCan i be a n00b and ask what script im merging it with?15:31
superm1sure15:32
superm1/etc/init.d/lirc15:32
NashaOk just making sure :)15:33
superm1in the future just make sure you're careful when copying back old conffiles from an old install when jumping to a new version.  unless you've read all the changelogs, there could be dozens of little things like this that you'll miss otherwise15:34
NashaWell i didnt touch the init script, so im not sure whats gone wrong there15:36
NashaOk, meld says files are identical...15:43
NashaAny ideas superm1 ?15:51

superm1hm16:06
superm1okay so last thought: ~/.lircrc, ~/.mythtv/lircrc16:06
superm1are buttons mentioned twice in ~/.mythtv/lircrc maybe?16:06
NashaI dont think so... As i said, my rc files are the same as my existing system16:07

superm1yeah that looks correct too16:10
superm1i'm at a loss then16:10
NashaOh no! Im talking with Jarod wilson hoping he can shed some light on the matter16:11
NashaOk, problem solved16:15
NashaSeems the init script isnt doing its job16:16
Nashaecho lirc > /sys/class/rc/rc0/protocols as superuser solved the problem16:16
superm1how can the init script not be doing that?16:18
superm1i'm sure that it works properly on both of my boxes16:19
superm1i wonder if it's actually a race condition?16:19
NashaWell thats what i, you and himself are puzzled over16:19
superm1if you freshly reboot, is it still busted?16:19
NashaWill test that out now16:19
NashaYes, still busted16:21
Nashanasha@Ion-Frontend:~$ cat /sys/class/rc/rc0/protocols16:22
Nasha[rc-5] nec [rc-6] jvc sony [lirc]16:22
Nashaadd the echo command to rc.local or something?16:23

yggdrasilso i have mythbutnu 64 bit version, and ive got a twinhan remote control. the problem is that there is something with any kernel higher than 2.6.31 that make my remote control not work. like a driver issue16:37
yggdrasilso anyway it works great if i get on a 2.6.31 kernel. is there any way i can run that kernel on 64bit myth ?16:38
yggdrasilor figure out where the hell the src is and make a kernel module that works .16:40
Zinnyggdrasil: Please watch your language.16:40
patdk-wkwhat kernel are you using that is *broken*?16:42
yggdrasilits up there .. i cant get to the box atm but its like 2.6.35.2216:43
yggdrasilif i remember.16:43
patdk-wkthen that is your issue16:44
yggdrasilim wondering if the 32 bit myth, is running like my regular lucid system, i  had te 2.6.32 kernel still installed and ran it ,16:44
patdk-wkI think >2.6.33 it is16:44
yggdrasilthats what the myth installer loaded16:44
patdk-wkhas new security stuff in the kernel, and it screws many things16:44

patdk-wkcause 10.04 doesn't have that16:44
yggdrasilwhat kernel does 10.4 have ?16:44
patdk-wkjust install an older kernel manually, and tell grub to boot it16:45
patdk-wk2.6.3216:45
yggdrasiloh really16:45
yggdrasilwell i dl'd a new iso for 32bit myth16:45
yggdrasillet me see wich version i got16:45
patdk-wkyou have the same issue on 32bit, using 10.10 I bet :)16:45
yggdrasilyea its 10.1016:45
yggdrasilwell so i check apt-cache for an older kernel and there wasnt one.16:46
patdk-wkya, you have to do it more manually16:46
yggdrasilright16:46
patdk-wkor load in the lucid apt sources and install it that way16:46
yggdrasilk wwell ill jsut get 10.416:46
patdk-wkmore than I want to go over :)16:46
yggdrasilyea i thought of that but i didnt think it would work out better in the end.16:46
yggdrasilbut ill jsut reload it, its a fresh install anyway16:46
yggdrasilas long as i end up on 2.6.22 .16:47
yggdrasilon my lucid box its 2.6.23 and that driver is messed up.16:47
yggdrasilonce i drop it back to 22 its fine, jsut a stupid remote control but its the only one i have16:47
patdk-wkwell, I just upgraded sat night, and it's 2.6.32-2516:47
yggdrasilto what ver?16:48
yggdrasil4 ?16:48
patdk-wkthat is 10.0416:48
yggdrasilcool16:48
yggdrasilyea i was actually even thining of pulling down the 9.04 ?16:48
patdk-wk10.04 is lts, so supported for 3-5 years16:48
yggdrasili think isaw.16:48
yggdrasilok thats great.16:48
yggdrasilim even thinking of scrapping the whole 64 bit version16:48
patdk-wkya, the kernel change was in 2.6.33/34 so you sohuld be fine16:48
patdk-wkI would say 64bit, but that is me :)16:49
patdk-wkall my stuff is 6416:49
yggdrasiloh really, see ive always been sh of it.16:49
rhpot1991yggdrasil: http://wilsonet.com/?page_id=9516:49
Zinn[wilsonet.com] Jarod's Junk Collection ยป Linux 2.6.35+ Remote Control Overview16:49
rhpot1991read that16:49
yggdrasiland i dont think i see that much of a increase.16:49
yggdrasilill take a look.16:49
patdk-wkI'll read that sometime too16:49
patdk-wkbut I don't use ir16:49
NashaIt was my IR problem :)16:49
patdk-wkI'm using ps3 bluetooth remotes :)16:50
rhpot1991yggdrasil: you could run 10.04 and enable autobuilds for updates and just stick with that if you wanted an older kernel16:51
patdk-wkya, that is what I was getting at, as I know that works16:51
patdk-wkand don't know the hacks for the new kernel16:52
rhpot1991patdk-wk: read that link16:52
rhpot1991and you can try to see if your remote works as an inputdevice now too16:52
patdk-wkI will, but flashing firmware on a few remote systems, and on a phone call with hp at the moment :)16:52
patdk-wkmy ps3 works as an input device in lucid, has for awhile :)16:53
patdk-wkwithout input device support, I wouldn't be using the ps3 remote16:53
yggdrasilrhpot1991: ok thats fine,16:53
yggdrasilthis doesnt even need to be so cutting edge so to speak, it is my system for my van16:53
yggdrasilbut it really sucks with no remote, and i want to eventually stick it to the cieling.16:53
yggdrasilbut cookthanks for the help.16:54
yggdrasilill jsut roll out on 10.4 64 bit and i think i should have the kernel that works best.16:54
yggdrasilat least maybe in a year it will all just work how its supposed ot.16:54
rhpot1991I think I meant to say that at yggdrasil instead of patdk-wk16:54
rhpot1991my bad16:55
patdk-wkI thought so too :)16:55
yggdrasil i mean according to this do, the changes hsouldnt have even hit until 2.6.3616:55
yggdrasilso why .33 got thes changes is confusing.16:55
patdk-wkwell, I dunno what changes broke your issue16:55
yggdrasilalready, there were i2c changes in 2.6.33 (iirc).16:55
patdk-wkI just saying, in 33 there was a new security system put in for drivers16:55
patdk-wkand it broke many things16:56
yggdrasilahh i thought yo usaid 3616:56
yggdrasilanyway ok its moot.16:56
yggdrasilmaybe by 40 they will have it fixed :)16:56
yggdrasilactaully im glad to see some progression on ir stuff16:57
yggdrasilbeen in the dark ages well for ages16:58

dumbledorehey all.. I installed mythbuntu 10.10 and am trying to get a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950Q to work with it. It works fine with tvtime, but when I use the MythTV frontend, and tell it "Watch TV", the screen goes blank. It says "Please Wait" but returns to the main menu after a few seconds. I tried googling, but none of the suggestions really help. Could someone please point me in the right direction?22:41

superm1i don't believe it's supported by the ivtv driverset22:54
superm1i thought only the digital side of it worked in linux last i heard22:54
superm1if the analog side is now functional, it is a framegrabber type device i think22:54
dumbledoreyea. I am looking to get the digital side of it working.22:54
superm1digital side, just pick the regular digital tuner stuff22:55
