[00:13] Hiya everyone [01:10] hey dmcglone! [01:14] greetings Cheri703 :) [01:15] hello [01:15] I now have a fresh install of 10.04.1 on netbook and desktop :) [01:15] how are you tonight gilbert? [01:16] nice, 10.10 not turn out well? [01:16] Cheri703: just dandy ;) [01:16] good good [01:16] chan has been dead today [01:17] I had 10.10 on desktop, but had to use the older kernel due to video card issues, and it was getting annoying having to make sure it didn't update, or if it did, change grub default, so...just went to 10.04 again [01:17] and 10.04 on netbook, but was having stupid issues, so just wiped it :) (with backups in place to make re-setting up easier) [01:18] aaaaand I got synergy working last night, and it's awesome :D [01:18] * Cheri703 has had a geeky 24 hours [01:18] hah, fun ^_^ [01:19] yeah, and at the moment, I have 3 monitors all connected with one mouse/keyboard...20" monitor and netbook, then desktop across the room [01:19] * Cheri703 is having a geekgasm [01:20] it's fun [01:20] and it's one of those things you can show to non-geeky folk and they get super impressed [01:20] interesting [01:20] can't say i've ever had the desire to set something like that up [01:21] well, I'm using synergy with my tv/desktop combo [01:21] I don't have a keyboard/mouse connected to it, and it is WAY more convenient to use it than remote desktop (which is what I was having to do) [01:21] this way I can just scoot my mouse over and do stuff, much quicker [01:23] and the big monitor is for doing things that a 10" netbook screen is just annoying for... [01:23] i.e. inkscape things, reading ebooks, etc [01:25] most of the time, my living room is my office, so this works well for me. husband is in the "office" playing his games and yelling at his computer, so...this works :) [01:46] chan is dead when i dont talk [01:47] my roomate just asked me if u can eat cereal with water [01:47] then he leaned over me as i typed and licked my head [01:47] i need a new roomate [01:52] Navirio: Sounds like a fun roommate... [01:55] sounds like a good way to catch some sort of disease [01:56] Yeah. Tell your roommate to get a penecillin shot. [01:57] thanks you guys are so nice to me i can feel the love [01:58] I'm only concerned with your mental well being. If your roommate died of some horrible disease as a result of licking you, you'd be devastated, right? [01:58] * canthus13 grins./ [01:58] your lies! they are bad! [02:00] whatever im getting off now lol ill bring the lulz and entertainment tommorow i promise [02:00] when dmc is on [02:59] paultag: howdy [02:59] heyya gilbert [02:59] gilbert: what's new, my man? [02:59] paultag: i manually built an i386 iso if you wanna give it a shot [03:00] gilbert: dude, I'd love to. What was the issue? [03:00] canthus13: _bbb_: slidinghorn: Unit193: Have you all voted? [03:00] paultag: actually there are various issues with fakeroot and fakechroot, but for the version that i built, i avoided them altogether and just used real root [03:00] interesting :) [03:00] paultag: i've submitted two bugs on the fakeroot/fakechroot issues already, and fixed one of them [03:01] gilbert: you're a rockstar, my man [03:02] paultag: I was one of the first. [03:02] paultag: Emailed it straight to you. [03:02] canthus13: dur. thanks [03:02] Heh. [03:04] paultag: http://alioth.debian.org/~gilbert-guest/testing-snapshot/round2/ [03:04] paultag: root-required build script up there too [03:04] gilbert: rocken! I'll run a test install now :) [03:05] this is random, but: I've been playing with scripts, and making launchers for said scripts, and now I'm making custom icons for them...I'm amused. :) I've never really done much messing around with the UI and customizing things, but I got the urge today, so I'm going with it [03:05] Cheri703: :D [03:06] also reinstalled on both computers today paultag [03:06] Cheri703: does it work? [03:06] it still wouldn't auto-detect the correct settings [03:07] Aye, figured [03:07] but I'd found a way to use xrandr to temporarily change it (until reboot) so that's one of the scripts I made [03:07] (it's a multi step process) [03:07] I'd been having other little issues, and I wanted to change my partition layout, so it's good [03:07] now netbook layout is similar to desktop layout, and it works :) [03:07] :) [03:11] Hahaha. http://www.linux.fm/ [03:12] now broadcasting crypto/fcrypt.c [03:20] wow, someone really had some time to waste [03:21] hahaha [03:21] that's sweet [03:26] Wow...Someone was nagging me on google chat trying to get me to use their lame icons for a web app I'm busy working on...and they're under the GPL...not [03:38] random thing: whenever I see "doctormo" my brain reads it as "doctoromo" [03:45] Cheri703: I'll let him know in the morning :) [03:45] I'm just saying [03:45] I thought that's what it was for a while, as it came through the planet ubuntu feed, til I saw it written out somewhere else and went "OOOHHHHH"...yep [03:46] haha [03:46] Cheri703: I'm telling him on the train in the morning :) [03:46] >.< if you must [03:46] Totally am :) [03:46] he'll love it [03:48] I thought of it because I noticed the link in the topic of ubuntu-beginners, and yet again I initially saw it as doctoromo :/ [03:48] ahah aye :) [03:48] so apparently, I've seen all of the top 10 movies from 1987 (according to imdb)...weird [03:49] Cheri703: sweeet. [03:49] I should do that with 1989 [03:49] but then I'd kill someone with crazy [03:49] I decided that'd be a good way to look for movies to watch...I'm just going year by year from when I was born [03:49] because they were so bad [03:49] Cheri703: yeah for sure [03:49] I've seen quite a few of them [03:50] http://www.imdb.com/year/1989 [03:50] thanks :3 [03:50] Cheri703: I've already seen them all :( [03:51] keep moving forward then! [03:51] :) [03:52] I've seen a lot of these, and the ones I haven't, I have no real desire to :/ [03:52] aye [03:53] brb, heading to bed. Much love :) [03:53] night === slidinghorn is now known as zz_slidinghorn [04:41] A bit late to answer paultag... [04:43] ?
