[22:35] alexidoia: i would be using JACK [22:35] it should show up there [22:35] that will let you route whatever you want to it [22:36] holstein: yeah, but the thing is that jack won't start up for some reason [22:36] let the trouble shooting begin :) [22:36] whats the error? [22:36] alexidoia: try [22:36] sudo qjackctl [22:36] and see if it starts [22:36] then you can troubleshoot for permissions errors [22:37] making sure your in the audio group [22:37] sudo adduser alexidoia audio [22:38] anyways, im about to run out [22:38] join #opensourcemusicians if you need more help :) [22:38] you could also disable any other sound devices in the bios [22:39] that might help with the pulse routing that you are trying to do [22:39] thanks [23:23] hi, hwo is using realtime kernel with jack? [23:23] my modest eeepc works with generic kernel but no go with the real time [23:23] too many x runs with generic [23:24] now using lucid..tried latest ubuntu studio but not even on generic [23:25] with 2.6.32-24 only have latency problem [23:31] so my question is since I am narrowing down the problem: [23:32] which file is used to select my sound card? [23:32] I mean, for alsa? when i boot in alsa I have to select manually my card in alsamixer and it does not stic [23:33] when i use the generic kernel the alsamixer is properly configured and I can see all controls of my sound card [23:37] tx for any help..
