[00:04] I'm trying to install on a beagleboard-xm, how long does the install normally take? [00:05] seems to be working, i got the "Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel." on the serial console [00:06] I guess it's undergoing the install process right now [00:06] and I have one of the LEDs blinking [00:06] but its been going at it for awhile now [00:07] just curious if it is working normally [00:11] yangster: normally it takes around 10 minutes [00:11] hmm...okay it has been way longer than that [00:11] the process boots the first time to resize the sd card, then reboots again to show the oem-config at the hdmi output, so you can continue the setup [00:12] if it's just one led blinking it means that's just the heartbeat [00:12] the other is the mmc usage, and if it's not blinking than it's probably stopped somehow [00:13] okay [00:13] yangster: did you follow the instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/OMAPMaverickInstall? [00:13] yup [00:13] ill try the alternative method now i guess [00:13] do you have a monitor connected at the hdmi output? [00:13] yes [00:13] did you get at least something at your monitor? [00:13] nope [00:13] yangster: what is your beagle revision? [00:14] B [00:15] yangster: probably needs the a3 fix [00:15] yangster: try doing what's described for beagle xm a3 at the wiki page [00:16] okay ill give that a go [00:16] thanks [06:34] rsalveti thanks for the help ealier, I got everything running [06:37] though it seems very slow [06:43] so i thought i would change to xfce4 but when i do the apt-get it says it can locate the package?
