[08:17] good morning all! [08:35] mornin [08:38] dpm, gtriderxc: morning :) [08:38] morning gtriderxc, udienz :) [08:39] dpm: my ubuntu used Indonesian as default language now :D [08:39] hehehe [08:39] udienz, hehe, great ;) [13:09] when installation of Ubuntu is finished we can see a post message in a window, that ~~"to use a new installation we have to restart the computer" anyone know where i can find this string?? [13:18] gtriderxc, update-manager perhaps? I'm not too sure [13:19] ok, i'll check it [13:19] it's ubiquity debconf [13:19] https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/ubiquity/+pots/ubiquity-debconf/pl/105/+translate [13:19] ah, nice one andrejz, thanks! [13:20] welcome [13:25] wow THANX [13:25] present polish translation looks terrible [13:30] no problem [13:46] does anyone know if Wine is translated on Launchpad?? [13:47] gtriderxc, unfortunately it's not translatable in Launchpad, as the wine package is not in the main Ubuntu repository [13:47] ok [14:42] enjoy your favorite music from a cloud integrated store or stream your entire collection to iPhone and Android mobile phones - we've raised the bar on personal clouds. Learn more at http://one.ubuntu.com/. [14:42] "we've raised the ba" [14:42] *bar [14:42] what does that mean?? [14:42] gtriderxc: if you run into this kind of problem again, about finding a particular string, there is a tool that will search through all the translations on you system and tell where the string belong [14:43] it probably would not have helped you with the ubiquity string though, because it probably gets uninstalled after installations ;) just though I would mention it [14:43] what tool?? [14:44] gtriderxc: raise the bar -> increase the overall quality [14:44] or something [14:44] but here by raising a bar should I understand making thing harder?? [14:44] ok, thanks [14:44] gtriderxc: yeah let me see if I can remember the name [14:45] it some kind of plugin for a web browser [14:45] ? [14:45] *is it [14:45] no, it is a commandline tool [14:46] you can only search on your own system, so it'll only work for programs you have installed [14:46] https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/ubuntu-translations-tools [14:47] dpm: I can see that you did some work in it, is there an easier way to install than having to manually install gettext and bzr clone? [14:51] ahh it is a bash script, so you can just download the file from here: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/%7Eubuntu-translations-coordinators/ubuntu-translations/ubuntu-i18n/download/head%3A/searchubuntutranslat-20100306151200-pc80hdnld2jav3nm-1/search-ubuntu-translations [14:51] make it executable (install gettext) and it should work [14:53] TLE, gtriderxc, there is an Ubuntu package. It's for an earlier version of Ubuntu, but it will work in new versions too. Let me dig up the link... [14:53] whoa [14:54] https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-translator-tools-hackers/+archive/ppa [14:54] you can add this PPA to your sources and then just install the package [14:55] gtriderxc, "raise the bar" in this context means that we've set a new, higher, awesomer level of cloud computing goodness :) [14:56] it would be awesome if someone picked up that package and updated it for maverick or natty [14:57] yeah it would [14:57] * TLE hides [14:58] gotta go, talk to you guys later [15:01] what do You mean by updated [15:01] ?? [15:06] who can update this?? [15:10] gtriderxc, anyone with packaging/coding skills [15:21] dpm: I wouldn't mind taking a look at that in the christmas holidays [15:23] dpm: taking a look meaning `maintaining the package'. [15:24] askhl, that'd be extremely cool :) [15:26] dpm: can I have membership of the group, or is there anything in particular I should do? [15:28] askhl, let me come back to you in a bit [15:29] (As far as I can see the group is `translations coordinators', which may be a bit over the top. I'll probably use my own PPA to test and so on, send changes to you if that's better) [15:57] askhl, the upstream project is at https://code.launchpad.net/~glatzor/ubuntu-translator-tools/main - so the best thing would be to branch off that, do the necessary modifications to the code (the packaging part in the code too) and submit a merge proposal to be included upstream. I think the modifications would be minimal and mostly to do with packaging. You could even host a PPA with your changes. What would be cool, though, would be to prepare t [15:57] he package to be included in universe, so that anyone could install it from the Ubuntu repos instead of having to subscribe to the PPA [16:10] dpm: Great, I'll be taking a look at it at some point during the holidays [16:11] awesome, if there is anything I can help with, just ping or e-mail me any time
