head_victimIf someone can please have a look at  http://www.flickr.com/photos/45015261@N04/5282457709/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/45015261@N04/5282457953/ are there any suggestions as to if this is a web browser bug or a wiki bug? The header file is from  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam01:13
head_victimThe same page is rendered very differently in chromium and firefox.01:14
nhandlerhead_victim: The rounded rectangle issue is known. I'm not sure if there is a work-around. IIRC this has to do with the fact that different browsers render pages slightly differently (especially when it comes to some css stuff like that)01:59
Turlhead_victim: can I see the page source?02:09
Turlhead_victim: for the rounded corners on chrome you need to use the -webkit-... border radius properties02:09
Turlopera has one of their own too iirc02:09
Turlhead_victim: I bet you're using float and forgot to clear something02:10
Turloh, just noticed the link02:10
Turlhead_victim: can you see here and tell me if they render the same now?02:34
Turlhttp://dl.dropbox.com/u/553461/AuTeam/wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam.html02:34
head_victimTurl: renders heaps better but still lots of whitespace02:38
TurlI guess I'll install chromium then :p02:40
head_victimnhandler: ah ok, sorry I'm really a novice at all this just doing what I can to try and make stuff work :)02:59
Turlhead_victim: can you refresh on the link I gave you and see if it's any better?03:04
head_victimTurl: perfect03:04
head_victimNow what was I doing wrong?03:04
Turlhead_victim: are you styling that page?03:04
head_victimTurl: in what sense sorry03:05
Turlhead_victim: are you editing/modifying that page, or are you just looking at it?03:06
head_victimI have been editing it but not since you started looking (last change hours ago)03:06
head_victimOh and with your latest one the icones need to go up the top of the grey bar.03:07
Turlright03:07
nhandlerTurl: Might I encourage you to possibly document what you did to make that work somewhere? I know of at least one other team that had the same issue03:10
Turlnhandler: ok03:11
Turlhead_victim: I'm editing the page now, just in case someone wants to edit it too03:11
head_victimnhandler: that was going to be my next question ;)03:11
head_victimI actually "stole" that concept directly from another team so was going to find out how it was improved so I can pass it back03:13
Turlfirst time editing wikiHTML or however it's called, It'll take some time I guess :p03:14
head_victimTurl: so what are you actually editing, the /include/header pages or?03:14
Turlyeah03:15
head_victimOk cool. I'm only just learning all this myself and have no idea how browsers work so wasn't sure what you were actually editing to make it work.03:16
Turlhttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam03:17
Turlwell, it's improving :)03:17
Turlwhere's the wiki history page?03:17
head_victimAh I see what it's doing when you put it side by side like that03:17
head_victimTurl: click the "info" buttong03:18
Turlhead_victim: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/Includes/HeaderMain?action=diff&rev2=35&rev1=3403:19
Turlis that OK as documentation?03:19
head_victimYeah I'm sure between myself and the other team we can work out how to make the change03:20
head_victimThanks HEAPS for your help03:20
head_victimThe borders are still square but at least the whitespace is gone03:20
head_victimThat lates update works well03:28
head_victimI'll tweak the text in the orange bar to make it a better sized fit but other than that it's exactly right.03:28
Turlhead_victim: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/Includes/HeaderMain?action=diff&rev2=36&rev1=35 this is for the borders03:28
head_victimThanks mate, I'll replicate that throughout the other 2 headers03:29
head_victimOk I just spread it out. Thanks heaps. I will definitely pass it back to the people who gave me the idea03:34
head_victimNow all I need is https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/loco-directory/+bug/692121 to be squared away and I'm out of things to annoy people about.03:45
ubot4Launchpad bug 692121 in loco-directory "Team event has been unlinked to loco team on loco.ubuntu.com (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,New]03:45
head_victimBut enough for one day, cheerio. Thanks Turl and nhandler for your help it has been greatly appreciated.03:46
