[01:18] how do i disable the annoying system sounds in lubuntu when i open an app or tab in firefox? === Guest98797 is now known as JoeMaverickSett [07:07] hi, I installed Lubuntu, updated the graphics card driver, and then Windows XP vanished from the grub menu :( [07:07] It was there between the install of Lubuntu and updating of the graphics card drivers [07:07] Can anybody help me get it back? === yofel_ is now known as yofel [15:21] Hi. I'm trying Natty alpha1 but the system just doesn't boot: BIOS does not seem to recognize the CD as bootable. The system boots normally from another CD (I've installed Lubuntu 10.10 successfully), and md5sum of the disk in question is correct. Any suggestions? [15:22] people complains alot about MD5 checksum mismatch [15:23] no the md5 is correct [15:23] f8034afe436a67ab771ffd0f32cfd2f3 [15:23] boot from USB? [15:24] I think USB sticks is better for envinroment than CD-R's ;) [15:26] that doesn't sound like a reason for CD-R to not work correctly ;) [15:27] burn another with slower speed [15:27] mmaksimov: also check out https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/Testing#Testing%20Lubuntu I've had an problem reported where the md5 is okay, but the file size is not. [15:28] so I updated the wiki, to do the ls-l. [15:28] phillw, will such truncated file be served by torrent? [15:29] it happened, md5 is pretty robust but not infallible. doing the ls -l will confirm you got the entire iso. [15:30] the size does match [15:31] mmaksimov: then that is why it does not work. [15:31] sorry, i thought you did not match [15:32] any other ideas? [15:32] mmaksimov: as bioterror said, burn SLOWLY. 4X speed or below. [15:34] unetbootin and usb stick = the best option [15:36] phillw, I've md5sum'ed the burned disk on the box where it is supposed to boot, and it matches [15:36] bioterror, I don't have a stick at the moment :( [15:54] Hi I wonder if I can install from a 10.4.1 LTS lubuntu livecd onto disc ... ? [15:55] will this be a supported feature of lubuntu-10.10 ? [15:55] why not [15:55] you can try [15:55] because there is no installer bioterror ... [15:56] i installed debian-installer and ubiquity - result is: does not work [15:58] okay lets check if virtualbox has got my virtual disk ;-) [16:06] Diskutility lanched from Menu is happy [16:08] trying to install debian-installer again ... [16:09] no chance .... [16:11] ubiquity is not working also [16:13] I am trying a freshly downloaded 10.10 now ... === zmijunkie_ is now known as zmijunkie === kosaidpoo is now known as kosaidpo === kosaidpo is now known as Guest33559 === Guest33559 is now known as _kosaidpo === szczur_ is now known as szczur === toadinthehole is now known as stwobe
