=== canthus14 is now known as canthus13 [03:28] Hi everyone [03:33] Hey dmcglone [03:33] How are you this christmas evening? [03:33] how ya doin? [03:34] I think I'm doing well [03:34] think? [03:35] ;-) [03:35] You don't ever do that? [03:35] How was christmas? [03:36] it was good, did you have a good one? [03:36] 2 good ones [03:37] Do you have more then one? (your side, her side and then you, her and kids) [03:38] Ah yeah [03:43] playing much in PHP? (did you make a script that updates your dyndns?) [03:46] Oh I've been playing a lot with PHP, matter of face I was just sitting here writing code for fun... lol [03:46] I didn't need to write a script, I found that my router automatically does it [03:47] matter of fact that is [03:47] nice, what one? [03:47] Belkin [03:48] I don't remember model [03:49] Did they fix the login screen? (viewing the frame source will give the pass) [03:50] in the router? [03:50] Yeah [03:52] they seem to have, I just looked and couldn't find anything [03:56] do you use Belkin? [03:58] Not at home, but yes [03:59] I really don't like it... [03:59] why don't you like belkin? [04:01] The DDNS updater never works, no built-in SSH (and not able to use 3rd party f/w that has it) I can't use a pass longer then 3 letters, etc (most are for the router that I use) === BiosElement is now known as BiosElementOmega [04:01] Along with viewing the source of the login screen gives me the pass... [04:02] I see === BiosElementOmega is now known as BiosElement [04:02] I've never had any problems, but we'll see about the DDNS updater in a month [04:02] lol [04:02] Your router seems newer [04:03] BiosElement: howdy mate [04:03] Hey there dmcglone [04:03] Hey BiosElement [04:03] How's things going? [04:03] Hey Unit193 [04:03] hey guys [04:03] good. I'm just sitting here coding for a kick [04:04] Hello Cheri703 [04:04] Hi Cheri703 [04:04] how are you? [04:04] Star Wars is on :-) [04:04] Hey Cheri703 [04:04] Hah dmcglone sounds like fun [04:04] we JUST got home [04:04] I'm actually updating my blog/server... >.> [04:04] were in cbus [04:05] BiosElement: didn't know you had a blog [04:05] ha you left the aweomeness then [04:05] Cheri703: how was your trip? [04:05] dmcglone: I may be going to Cbus Mon, mind if I drop by? :D [04:05] dmcglone: yeah, www.bioselement.com although it's a tad neglected, thus why I'm trying to bring it up to spec [04:05] fine [04:06] we went to my brother's wife's parents' house for christmas dinner [04:06] me, husband, and my parents [04:06] Sounds fun Cheri703 [04:06] yeah, it was good [04:07] Awesome hah [04:07] BiosElement: will add to my blog roll so I can read it [04:07] Mine is neglected also [04:08] Aha awesome dmcglone make sure you get the right rss url, lemme grab it. Not sure I've got feedburner setup right :P [04:08] http://feeds.bioselement.com/BiosElement [04:08] That's the right feed...I think haha [04:08] I set it up so even if I ditch feedburner, I can do some fancy redirects to not randomly vanish off rss readers [04:09] I see [04:10] I should look into my rss feeder and find out about it [04:10] They really make it easy hah [04:10] >.< [04:10] * BiosElement is sarcastic today [04:13] Ok got your feed set up [04:29] Awesome ^_^ [04:34] * canthus13 awes some more. [04:40] where can I find cURL for ubuntu? [04:42] never mind finding it, how do I turn it on? [04:43] curl? Turn it on? Eh? [04:44] * canthus13 thought it was a CLI command. [04:44] I'm not sure [04:44] hang on I'll be back [04:46] curl is CLI... like wget as far as apt-cahce tells [04:46] curl is what silly people use instead of wget >.> [04:46] Ehh. he had to log out to read a manpage? [04:47] http://daniel.haxx.se/docs/curl-vs-wget.html [04:50] Hmmm I installed cURL and for some reason it's saying that it's off [04:52] curl isn't 'on' or 'off'. [04:53] I was trying to preview "open cart" and it was saying that curl was off [04:55] Weird. [04:58] Oh well it seems to work [04:58] It's quite nice too, open cart that is [04:59] I lohw people who walk in on debates with me >.> [04:59] And then side with me haha [05:16] me? [05:17] lol [05:17] I'll never side with you muah-hahahaha [05:17] It's best not to... [05:21] I only side with 3 people [05:21] me, myself and I [05:21] ;-) [05:21] Is that so? [05:28] yup [05:29] Well I'm gonna hit the hay guys [05:29] I'll talk to everyone later [05:29] Good sleep! [05:29] night all [05:29] later! [05:29] later :-) === Vetinari_ is now known as Vetinari [17:30] Good Morning Dave [17:45] Goodbye, HAL. [17:47] http://kmandla.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/txt-hal.png [17:49] VLC has ACII output... [17:49] canthus13: know anything about DSL? (basics?) [18:14] A little. What's up? [18:35] If your having modem issues (never worked) then you would call the help desk and tell them your the MAC address of the modem? [18:42] They should know the address of the Modem. [18:42] I don't think he got the modem from AT&T [18:42] They might want to know the MAC of the machine connected to it, though, just to verify that what you have is what they're seeing on their end. [18:42] Oh. The modem may not be registered on their network. [18:43] Not sure if DSL requires that or not. [18:43] Our network won't allow a foreign modem to connect unless it's been registered in our system. [18:43] But ours is a DOCSIS 3.0 cable plant, not DSL, so I dunno if that's different. [18:44] We have RR (the guy setting up called in the MAC), so I don't know how DLS works.... [18:47] I'm pretty sure AT&T allows you to use your own modem, so I doubt it's a security check. [18:49] * Cheri703 has an at&t modem that needs a new home [18:51] Dumpsters are very inviting homes for AT&T equipment. [18:51] true [18:52] So are fire pits... [18:59] Heh. [19:05] Oh. Woohoo. My wife got my old HP laptop repaired. :) And it runs cooler than ever before. [23:23] Hi everyone [23:23] Hey dmcglone [23:24] what ya doing? [23:24] sftping stuff to Zeta [23:24] playing with VLC -I ncurses [23:25] I see [23:25] having fun? [23:26] doesn't play on this end... :) [23:26] are you? [23:27] you said you were playing with VLC [23:28] yes.... [23:28] then you said you don't play [23:28] you got me confused? [23:28] ncurses = SSH GUI [23:30] Only thing left - figure out how to unlock xscreensaver by SSH
