[18:42] <canthus13> They might want to know the MAC of the machine connected to it, though, just to verify that what you have is what they're seeing on their end.

[18:43] <canthus13> Not sure if DSL requires that or not.
[18:43] <canthus13> Our network won't allow a foreign modem to connect unless it's been registered in our system.
[18:43] <canthus13> But ours is a DOCSIS 3.0 cable plant, not DSL, so I dunno if that's different.
[18:44] <Unit193> We have RR (the guy setting up called in the MAC), so I don't know how DLS works....
[18:47] <canthus13> I'm pretty sure AT&T allows you to use your own modem, so I doubt it's a security check.
