maxbHow often do the LOSAs process open assigned questions? Just wondering what my expectations should be for one opened and and assigned to the losas during the past weekend12:25
mthaddonmaxb: we try to look at them every day, but it depends on how much other stuff we have going on and other interrupts12:27
mthaddon(by which I mean, one of us tries to look at them every day - we have an internal rotation)12:27
maxbbusy week so far? :-)12:27
mthaddonmaxb: yep - what's the question and is it critical?12:28
maxbhttps://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+question/141568 - it's not critical, I was just worried I'd phrased it such that it "looked complicated" and went to the bottom of the pile12:28
mthaddonmaxb: ah, I remember Chex asking me about something related to this script yesterday, so I suspect he should be able to get to it today (he starts in 90 mins or so)12:29
maxbthanks12:30

aveilleuxHello. I maintain the project Minimal Desktop for Ubuntu, and I'm stuck trying to configure the Launchpad. There is a yellow bang next to the "Submit Code" option in the sidebar, which says "Launchpad needs to know where the user can submit code" in the hover-text. However, I can't find where to configure that anywhere in the options. I am using the Edge interface, and all of the configuration options right below the "Submit code" link have15:23

tsimpsonis anyone available to talk about project groups?16:04
wgranttsimpson: We're all in a workshop at the moment. But ask away, and someone will hopefully respond.16:05
tsimpsonwell I'm thinking about converting an existing project (ubuntu-bots) to a project group, so we can have different projects for each type of bot etc16:05
tsimpsonI was just wondering how difficult it would be to do that and if there's anything I would need to do regarding that16:06
tsimpsonthe project uses the bug tracker and code hosting, and we want to keep bugs in the group project for all sub-group16:07
tsimpson+s16:07
tsimpsonbut use each group for code hosting16:07
wgrantThat's not possible.16:07
wgrantA project group has no bugs/code/etc. of its own.16:07
wgrantIt only contains projects.16:08
tsimpsonok16:09
tsimpsonwgrant: would there be any issues with converting the project to a group with regards to keeping bug information and branches, or would it be better to create a new project group and add the existing project to it?16:11
wgranttsimpson: You can't convert between them at the moment.16:12
wgranttsimpson: We could rename the project and create a new project group in its place.16:12
wgrantBut are the bots all separate codebases?16:13
tsimpsonwell we have groups of bots, they use around 3 distinct codebases16:13
tsimpsonubottu like bots use one, there's also a LoCo specific bot some use which uses another codebase, and there's bot that don't use supybot at all (which ubottu is)16:14
tsimpsonI just wanted to get some information on what we can do with project groups, we still have to discuss and eventually decide if it's something we want to do16:16
wgrantYou can't do a whole lot with them at the moment. We are currently considering a complete redesign of that area.16:17
wgrantThey basically just show a pretty limited aggregate of objects from all of the subprojects.16:18
ftadpm, hey, not sure why "Import templates only" would help16:38
ftai need the "strings updated in lp" back in the branch16:39
ftaif i upload them myself by using an older revision of the export branch, i will become the author of those strings from lp's point of view :0 not fair16:40
dpmfta, I was not thinking about reuploading the strings with that suggestion. It was more of a workaround in order to avoid upstream translations overriding Launchpad translations in the next import, until danilos or the other guys can give us better advice16:53
ftadpm, hmm. i wonder if i should stop importing strings from lp and resurrect those strings from a backup for the packages until this is fixed16:54

ftadpm, but i'm pessimistic about the outcome. this change seems wanted for reasons i really don't understand, so chromium is isolated now16:56
dpmfta, let's see if we can arrange a meeting next week with the lp translations guys to figure it out16:57
dpmfta, would around this time of the day work out best for you?16:57
ftadpm, yep. i start very early at work nowadays so at this time of the day, i'm back at home16:58
dpmfta, sounds good. Let me send an e-mail and let's aim for Tuesday/Wednesday when everyone is back16:59
tsimpsoncan a project group contain another project group, or is that just madness?17:15
mrevelltsimpson, No, you can't have a project group within another project group. What are you hoping to do?17:21
tsimpsonmrevell: just thinking about having a project structure similar to http://paste.ubuntu.com/555870/17:22
tsimpsonbut the more I think about it, the less I think it would be useful17:23

tsimpsoneither that, or apt is different from what ubuntu uses19:03

WL6784Hi. I need some help to setup the gettext translation system for a simple python script: https://launchpad.net/localhost-indicator22:24

danilosleonardr, I've closed that tab; I have the terminal output available if you think that'd help23:05
leonardrdanilos: ah, i have an idea!23:05
leonardrdanilos: i bet token_authorized stops working as soon as the request token is exchanged for an access token23:05
leonardrlaunchpadlib tries to exchange the token once a second23:06
leonardrif your browser makes the request at the beginning of the second, you get the correct page23:06
leonardrif your browser makes the request at the end of the second, launchpadlib gets there first and the page stops working23:06
leonardrthat would explain the nondeterministic behavior23:06
