[00:10] rlameiro: evening [00:10] * gordonjcp -> bed [00:10] nn all [20:17] I just installed Ubuntu Studio on a Windows 7 machine. when i tried to boot my truecrypt bootloader wouldn't accept my pass. I know that pass and i have the ISO, but i need to mount my encrypted drive. the machine i installed on won't boot any live OSes i've tried. HELP! [20:18] compuman: hey [20:18] im heading out [20:19] and its slow in here [20:19] heyk [20:19] K [20:19] you might want to try #ubuntu or #ubuntu-beginners [20:19] ok [20:19] thanks [20:19] this is not an ubuntustudio specific issue [20:19] *in theory [20:19] ok [20:19] compuman: what is a truecrypt bootloader? [20:19] thats what i would look into [20:19] when you install buntu [20:19] buntu wants to install GRUB [20:20] and if you didnt say "dont install grub" [20:20] it did, or tried to [20:20] and whatever bootloader you had is probably upset [20:20] usually, dual booters use GRUB [20:20] truecrypt bootloader sits on top of the native bootloader and decrypts my main Windows HDD partition [20:20] to boot win, lin and whatever [20:21] compuman: who makes it? [20:21] is it capable of booting lin? [20:21] https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows [20:21] ^^ this might be relavant [20:21] IF you can get rid of your current bootloader [20:21] truecrypt makes the bootloader and i've been booting linux for 9 months with this setup. [20:22] and install grub to your disk with a live CD [20:22] compuman: hmmm [20:22] im not familiar with it [20:22] but, i would start there [20:22] ok thanks for the help! [20:22] http://gag.sourceforge.net/ [20:22] i thin... [20:23] oh well :)
