jdstrandfyi, filed bug #708697 for inscape dependency on NBS binaries15:33
ubot4Launchpad bug 708697 in inkscape (Ubuntu) "FTBFS with latest poppler (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [High,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/70869715:33
=== bjf[afk] is now known as bjf
jdstrandfyi bug #70871516:02
ubot4Launchpad bug 708715 in libindicate-qt (Ubuntu) "libindicate-qt4 FTBFS with new libindicate (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/70871516:02
jdstrandI guess I should milestone those16:04
jdstrandcjwatson: re milestones, what derivatives do we care about? all? ubuntu and kubuntu? all in ~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu-seeds (ie ubuntu, edubuntu, kubuntu, and netbook)?17:19
jdstrandcjwatson: oh, and hi :)17:20
cjwatsonjdstrand: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyNarwhal/ReleaseManifest primarily, but anything that community folks are prepared to support is worth helping17:30
cjwatsonactually that seems like a reasonably complete list17:31
jdstrandthanks17:36
jdstrandcjwatson: I don't see a seed file for wubi-- do the ubuntu bits generally just fall under the desktop seed? ie, are there extra things for wubi in the archive that aren't expressed in the germinate seeds?17:42
jdstrandI don't see anything about wubi in the structure.dot either...17:43
cjwatsonwubi wouldn't make sense in the seeds17:44
cjwatsonit's a different installer application17:44
cjwatson(which uses ubiquity as part of its operation, but the other bits are in Windows)17:45
jdstrandok, that is what I was thinking but not expressing17:45
jdstrandcjwatson: is there bits in the archive outside of the desktop seed that I need to look out for to make sure wubi is ok?17:46
jdstrandI'd like to say something like "the desktop cd is ok, then wubi must be too"17:47
cjwatsonyou can't do that, no17:47
cjwatsonthe binaries live on http://people.canonical.com/~evand/wubi/natty/17:47
cjwatsonbut the way we tell that it's OK is to listen for test reports on http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/17:47
cjwatsonI mean, as far as seeds and such go, Wubi installs an Ubuntu desktop17:47
cjwatsonso package-wise, yes, if the desktop CD is consistent then Wubi is too.  That doesn't necessarily mean it will work :)17:48
jdstrandI will fully admit I don't really know how wubi works17:48
jdstrandok17:48
jdstrandas the archive admin on point, then that is all I really need :)17:48
cjwatsonit's a Windows application which asks a few questions, prepares loopback / and swap filesystems as files inside your Windows NTFS partition, then reboots into a preseeded ubiquity installation of (in this case) the Ubuntu desktop CD17:49
cjwatsonthere are a bunch of installer and boot loader customisations here and there to make this work17:49
jdstrandcool17:50
jdstrandfyi bug #70879518:08
ubot4Launchpad bug 708795 in gexiv2 (Ubuntu Natty) (and 1 other project) "gexiv2 FTBFS with new libexiv2 (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [High,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/70879518:08
jdstrandfyi, so I think NBS should be in ok shape for alpha-2 images. shotwell and koffice I coordinated with maintainers. inkscape already is being acted on, and libindicate-qt4 and gexiv2 have milestoned bugs18:30
jdstrandobviously I will continue to keep on eye on it18:30
* jdstrand looks at the kernel in there now18:30
jdstrand(and a do a bunch of no change rebuilds)18:31
jdstrands/a do/I did/18:31
jdstrandcjwatson: I will probably ask you later today or tomorrow about that kernel in the NBS report (ABI bump from 37-12 to 38-1). It isn't finished building yet on all archs, so I prefer to wait.18:35
jdstrandcjwatson: hopefully I'm not bugging you too much! :018:36
jdstrand:)18:36
cjwatsonthat's fine, actually I'll probably just sort that out tomorrow morning if that's ok18:36
cjwatsonneeds an installer rebuild, seed bump, and then a round of NBS18:37
=== bjf is now known as bjf[afk]
jdstrandcjwatson: that is totally fine by me. I just want to make sure I am aware of the issues surrounding d-i and seeds18:54
