ari-tczewgrunthus: do you want to get your debdiff uploaded?00:02
ari-tczewthen you need to subscribe ubuntu-sponsors00:04
grunthusaha.00:05
paultagI hate to be a whiny one, but is there anyone who can review #703718 ?00:06
paultagOh wait, shoot00:06
grunthusfound the instructions for sponsorship00:06
paultaglooks like it was handled. Stupid cache00:06
paultagignore me, thanks00:07
paultagRiddell: thanks for killing fluxconf :)00:07
ari-tczewbroder: can we finish bug 690927 ?00:12
ubottuLaunchpad bug 690927 in tpb (Ubuntu) "Sync tpb 0.6.4-6 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)" [Wishlist,Incomplete] https://launchpad.net/bugs/69092700:12
grunthusari-tczew: given that my patch is for synaptic, should that be forwarded to debian?00:14
ari-tczewgrunthus: are you an author of patch or did you take it from upstream?00:14
grunthusi produced the patch myself from apt-get source synaptic00:15
ari-tczewgrunthus: I'd prefer to see your patch approved upstream, so wait for mvo (Michael Vogt) response on bug.00:17
ari-tczewgrunthus: you have error in debdiff. target in debian/changelog should be natty (I guess) and bug #xxx is wrong, please use rather (LP: #706271)00:19
ari-tczews/error/errors00:19
grunthusthank you for advice, will alter it00:20
ari-tczewgrunthus: also would be nice to delete obsolete files on the bug leaving only working debdiff00:21

grunthusHello ari-tczew, done all that and uploaded a new patch.00:47
grunthusBut, I've just noticed the bug report refers to synaptic 0.75~pre4, whereas of course, since my system is maverick, I have 0.63.100:48
ari-tczew!SRU | grunthus00:48
ubottugrunthus: Stable Release Update information is at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates00:48
grunthusOK ari-tczew, back to the start for me then, this doesn't warrant a SRU.00:52
ari-tczewgrunthus: no?00:52
grunthusthe link you posted says SRUs only issued for high impact bugs00:53
grunthusI should presumably set up a Natty virtual machine with testdrive and then create the patch for synaptic 0.7500:54
ari-tczewgrunthus: heh, high? not always, trust me :)01:01
ari-tczewsometimes we bring SRUs for very hard to reproduce bugs01:01
grunthusWell, I have added a cautionary note under my latest patch, so can leave to the discretion of M. Vogt.01:03
grunthusThanks again for your help.01:03
ari-tczewgrunthus: You're welcome.01:12

hyperairpaultag: i thought i fixed all those errors.06:32
paultaghyperair: I saw the patch in debian/06:32

hyperairif you notice, there's a Bug: link06:32
hyperairwhich is an upstream bug link06:32
paultaghyperair: yeah I saw06:32
hyperairso i have forwarded the patch06:32
paultaghyperair: but I did not want to pick on you on the list06:33
hyperairhmm?06:33
paultaghyperair: it looks a bit bad if you have a patch that does not do it's job, so I figued i'd just post the issue and avoid doing the usual "Why do you have a patch if it's not fixing anything" thing06:34
hyperairpaultag: either way, i don't usually bother about the pedantic tags. they're pedantic for a reason, and i can't translate the debconf template myself.06:34
paultaghyperair: yeah, it's an upstream issue06:34
hyperairpaultag: did it not fix the issue?06:34
paultaghyperair: but still good to know06:34

paultagOh wait, you said the other way around06:41
paultaghyperair: odd. Is lintian whining?06:41

hakermaniaWhen will REVU freeze?09:54
micahghakermania: REVU doesn't freeze09:54
hakermaniamicahg: I remember that it does, 1-2 months before new Ubuntu release, in order to fix existing bugs. Am I wrong?09:55
micahghakermania: no, but after Feature Freeze (Feb 24), no new packages will be accepted in the release pocket09:55
micahgerr, without a really good reason09:56
hakermaniamicahg: So, my package (wallch) must be advocated  before 24 Feb in order to be included to natty?09:57

notgaryHey. I was wondering if someone could clear something up for me.17:17
notgaryI'm attempting to fix a paper cut in pinta17:18
notgaryI have installed the package using sudo apt-get install pinta17:18
notgaryHowever,17:18
notgaryWhen I try to get the source or the build-debs17:18
notgary*sorry, build-deps17:18
notgaryapt-get tells me it can't find any package called pinta17:18
notgaryI'm guessing it's something to do with the packaging, which is why I'm asking here.17:19
udienznotgary, try to use pull-lp-source17:23
udienzpull-lp-source pinta17:23
udienzor pull-lp-source $srcpakacge $release17:23
notgaryOk, that worked, but what about the build dependencies?17:26
stgrabermy guess is that pinta is a binary package, it's not the source package17:31
stgraberhmm, nope, actually it's a binary package ...17:32
stgrabercan you try: apt-cache showsrc pinta17:32
stgraberif it fails, then you have something wrong with your sources.list (like missing deb-src entries)17:32
notgaryYeah, that failed, for both pinta and a few other packages I tested it with. How would I fix it?17:33
stgrabermake sure you have your deb-src lines in /etc/apt/sources.list17:34

chrisccoulsonkklimonda, the main API change is JSNative changed quite significantly (that is the prototype for all native calls callable from JS)18:01
chrisccoulsonhttps://developer.mozilla.org/en/JSNative18:01
chrisccoulsoni guess that's the main thing that will affect mongodb18:01
chrisccoulsonbut there's lots of examples of that in couchdb :)18:01
kklimondathanks, I've started a build to see where it fails and will see what can I do about it18:02
chrisccoulsonthe one thing to bear in mind is the old JSNative didn't mandate setting a return value, whereas with the new API, you *always* have to set a return value, even if it is JSVAL_VOID18:02
chrisccoulsonif you want any help though, just shout, although, i probably won't look at it until tomorrow ;)18:03

chrisccoulsonerror: invalid conversion from 'JSBool (*)(JSContext*, JSObject*, uintN, jsval*, jsval*)' to 'JSBool (*)(JSContext*, uintN, jsval*)'18:07
chrisccoulsonthose ones are ;)18:07
chrisccoulsonnot sure where the first error comes from though18:07
chrisccoulsoni'm guessing there will be a lot of copying and pasting to fix it18:07
chrisccoulsonmost of that is probably only 3 or 4 changes, but duplicated everywhere18:08
kklimondamost likely, there is a lot of duplicated errors18:08
kklimondaoh well, I'll see if I have time to work on that. I'm still trying to fix two packages that break with libevent218:09

MTecknologyI need some help.. If 'nginx' was installed and you upgrade; 'nginx-full' will replace 'nginx'; 'nginx-full' requires 'nginx-common'; 'nginx-common' has a logrotate script which matches the script that was in 'nginx'; 'nginx' no longer has this script; however.. on upgrade, both scripts are installed.19:22
