cjwatsonI think we'd best release-note that btrfs installations are busted :-/01:23
cjwatsonbug 712029, plus it turns out that systems don't work very well when / is mode 070001:24
ubot4Launchpad bug 712029 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "ubiquity btrfs install fails to boot (grub rescue> prompt) (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/71202901:24
cjwatsonfixed the latter, not quite sure what's going on with the former yet01:24
lamontslangasek: if 30.5GB is insufficient to build it, I'm going to assert that there's a bug...02:32

skaetcjwatson, pitti, (and anyone else who's interested) can you please take a pass through https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyNarwhal/TechnicalOverview, and add any key bugs I may have overlooked.06:48

pittiGood morning08:00
pittiskaet: yep, will do; already had some passes yesterday, but will beautify and add more bugs from the iso tracker08:00
Riddelldo we have an ETA on release?  I still have DVDs to test and notes to write09:10
pittiRiddell: I guess we won't release before skaet wakes up again09:42
pittiso still plenty of time09:42
pittiskaet: I went through the current "serious" bugs on the tracker, they are now all on TechnicalOverview; the "what's new in desktop" part is now signed off, too09:45
jibelRiddell, I'm syncing kubuntu amd64 dvd, but I can not guarantee that I'll be able to test i386 as well, can you or some else take care of it ?09:55
Riddelljibel: yes I'm onto it, thanks09:57
pittivictorp, ara, cjwatson: good news! I just moved the last lucid package which affects media builds to -updates (i. e. all main packages except the new ubuntu font)11:44
pittiso I wonder whether we should switch the lucid daily builds to -updates now?11:45
pittiwould be better for testing what we will actually release11:45
pittiand in theory we could also unfreeze lucid-proposed then (but freeze -updates instead)11:45
ara\o/11:45
arait sounds good to me, we are always testing the latest build anyway11:46
pittiactually the lucid daily builds were disabled anyway; perhaps as an unintended side effect of disabling daily natty builds, perhaps because of something else; I'll wait for cjwatson/skaet before I re-eneable them and drop the PROPOSED=111:51
cjwatsonI suspect that was unintended11:54
cjwatsonI'll deal with dropping -proposed, there are a few places where it needs to be tweaked11:55
pittiah, thanks11:55
pittiwhere else, OOI?11:55
cjwatsoncdimage run-germinate, debian-cd CONF.sh, the crontab11:56
cjwatsonstgraber: (or whoever did it) thanks for posting the DVDs11:59
cjwatsonpitti,ara: lucid daily builds re-enabled from -updates12:00
pittiah, thanks12:01
cjwatsonnext build will be tomorrow12:01
aracjwatson, thanks!12:01
highvoltageis there any verdict on the amd64 isos yet? is there going to be a respin or will it pass with a workaround note?13:44
pittihighvoltage: a respin would only be an option if we had a real solution, but we don't13:45
pittihighvoltage: we currently documented the workaround on the tech overview13:45
highvoltagepitti: ok13:47
ograare we there yet ?13:51

mvois a xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.14.0-1ubuntu6_source.changes upload ok at this point? fixes a anoying UI corruption13:53
mvo(I guess it is, just want to double check)13:53
cjwatsonyes, I think that is OK - it won't be picked up unless we have another reason to respin13:58
mvothanks14:05
highvoltageI passed the edubuntu amd64 iso with a note explaining that the ubiquity-slideshow-edubuntu package needs to be removed before installation and that that will have to go into the release notes since there's no current fix available for the webkit problem14:07
ScottKThe Kubuntu upgrade tests are missing off the ISO tracker.14:19
ScottKI don't think it should affect this milestone, but it'd be good to get it fixed for Alpha 3.14:19
pittiScottK: they are present in the "add build set" options14:25
pittiScottK: do you still want them added for a2?14:26
ScottKpitti: It wouldn't hurt, but I wouldn't delay anything based on if they get done or not.14:26
pittiScottK: added14:27
pittiI agree14:27
ScottKpitti: Thanks.14:27
pitti"Known issues" in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyNarwhal/TechnicalOverview has become quite long this time, smells like a new record14:27

* skaet scanning back15:10
skaetpitti, cjwatson,  don't see any reason not to lift the freeze now.   Its pretty clear that the images we have now are the one's we'll be going out with.15:13
pittihey skaet, good morning15:14
pittiskaet: ok, thanks15:14

pitticjwatson: ^ are you, or should I start now?15:39
skaetpitti,  you're down for this release in the task sheet, so go ahead.   unless cjwatson *wants* to. ;) ?15:41
pittiack, turning the crank then15:42
cjwatsonI don't want to :)15:43
pittiskaet, ogra: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyNarwhal/TechnicalOverview doesn't currently link to http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-netbook/releases/natty/alpha-2/ for armel; is that deliberate because they don't work, or want me to add it?15:53
skaetpitti,  please add, its an oversite.15:54
skaetno images were available for A1, and this was a cut paste from that.    good catch.15:54
pittiskaet: well, actually we do have http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-netbook/releases/natty/alpha-1/15:54
pittiskaet: they might have been broken and thus not announced, of course, I don't remember any more15:54
ograpitti, please add15:55

skaetcjwatson,  with the perm changes, I don't seem to be able to update the alpha-2 milestone to make it inactive,  can you handle?16:12
pittihm, I can't either; is that actually necessary? the due date is already past16:13
pittiah, but I can still target buts to that, it is still active then16:13
skaetyeah, don't want folks assigning bugs to it16:13

pittiskaet: do you know if http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/download still needs to be updated? It currently leads me to a German mirror with a rather ugly page of the cdimage root fs (not to alpha-2 images)17:22
skaetpitti,  yes, I believe newz2000 is waiting for the signal from us.17:23

pittiI suggest to remove the ``` and just make it a normal paragraph19:13
pittihttp://paste.ubuntu.com/562153/ looks fine to me19:13
skaetpitti,  yeah, there are some other formating issues I've hightlighted to Matt.   Will go in and edit it.   He'll be refreshing later.   I'm still trying to figure out if we can get the /download/testing working - most of the mirrors haven't picked up Natty yet.19:15
pittiskaet: I don't think they are supposed to19:15
pittialphas are traditionally downloaded from cdimage.u.c.19:15
skaetahhh... that would explain it.19:15
skaetin the announce I switched it over,  will do so in the TechOver as well then.19:16
