[15:07] good morning [18:46] good afternoon [18:47] How would I go about configuring the DHCP server? [18:47] I'm trying to get EDUbuntu 10.10 to work with my existing linksys router / firewall, which is on a 192.168.1.0/24 [18:47] the DHCP server wants to do 192.168.0.0/24 [18:48] 1 nic setup? [18:48] correct [18:48] You can't have 2 dhcp servers on the same subnet [18:48] precisely, i'm going to disable DHCP on my linksys and use the DHCP built into EDUbuntu [18:49] the problem is i need to configure my DHCP on EDUbuntu to assign addresses on the same subnet [18:49] Ah, ok then just edit /etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf [18:49] ahhhh [18:49] rock on [18:49] perfect! Thank you! [18:49] You can also use this instead, if it suits you better: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP/ProxyDHCP [18:50] I.e. keep your router's dhcp server running [18:50] even better [18:50] i might do that [18:50] sweet, thanks a bundle, going afk... just about to walk out the door [21:31] hello again [21:31] i'm having problems with PXE boot now [21:31] my client worked before I started messing with the DHCP servera [21:32] i put a packet sniffer on and i'm not seeing EDUbuntu respond to any DHCP requests [21:33] so the scenario is my c lient computer won't boot past PXE, says Operating System not found [21:33] anyone know how could i verify my DHCP server is running on the LTSP server? [21:36] i found a log file, shows my DHCP requests that worked from earlier today, but the last 3 lines just say: dhcpd: Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Server V3.1.3 [21:42] nm it was my fault [21:43] i changed the network on the first address of the range but not the second [21:43] and away we go [21:43] 8-)
