Jay2k1hey there, i just upgraded from 0.23.1 on 9.04 to 0.24 on 10.10 (fresh install + db restore)00:19
Jay2k1now my remote doesn't work as suspected00:19
Jay2k1the installer asked me for my remote, i said it's a hauppauge nova-t 50000:20
Jay2k1i copied my old lirc config files over to the new installation00:20
Jay2k1now, when lirc runs, every button press is recognised twice00:20
Jay2k1but the weirdest part is, when i stop lirc, the remote still works00:21
Jay2k1a few buttons do not work though, that was the reason i tried my old configs, but i just can't understand how the remote can work if there is no running lirc instance00:24
mrandJay2k1: the kernel in 10.10 supports remotes00:30
mrandfor the most part, anyway ;-)00:30
Jay2k1yeah just found out00:30
Jay2k1arrows and such00:30
Jay2k1but not "back/exit" apparently... what a pita00:30
Jay2k1looking through `ps` over and over and not finding anything IR related...00:31
mrandI have not had time to dig into it myself to see what works and doesn't work on my remotes.  You can disable the in-kernel support if it isn't working right for you00:31
Jay2k1i'd love to do that00:31
Jay2k1you know how? :S00:37
mrandJay2k1: I've not done it myself, but I think you blacklist mceusb, describe in option 2 here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9984844#post998484400:43
Zinn[ubuntuforums.org] [SOLVED] Issues with Generic Mceusb receiver after upgrade to 10.10 - Ubuntu Forums00:43
Jay2k1well, the thing is, it's not mceusb since it's a hauppauge remote, not media center, so i don't know what module it is... but i suspect it's "ir_common", gonna test that00:53
mrand/var/log/messages (or dmesg) may tell you01:03
