[00:19] hey there, i just upgraded from 0.23.1 on 9.04 to 0.24 on 10.10 (fresh install + db restore) [00:19] now my remote doesn't work as suspected [00:20] the installer asked me for my remote, i said it's a hauppauge nova-t 500 [00:20] i copied my old lirc config files over to the new installation [00:20] now, when lirc runs, every button press is recognised twice [00:21] but the weirdest part is, when i stop lirc, the remote still works [00:24] a few buttons do not work though, that was the reason i tried my old configs, but i just can't understand how the remote can work if there is no running lirc instance [00:30] Jay2k1: the kernel in 10.10 supports remotes [00:30] for the most part, anyway ;-) [00:30] yeah just found out [00:30] arrows and such [00:30] but not "back/exit" apparently... what a pita [00:31] looking through `ps` over and over and not finding anything IR related... [00:31] I have not had time to dig into it myself to see what works and doesn't work on my remotes. You can disable the in-kernel support if it isn't working right for you [00:31] i'd love to do that [00:37] you know how? :S [00:43] Jay2k1: I've not done it myself, but I think you blacklist mceusb, describe in option 2 here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9984844#post9984844 [00:43] [ubuntuforums.org] [SOLVED] Issues with Generic Mceusb receiver after upgrade to 10.10 - Ubuntu Forums [00:53] well, the thing is, it's not mceusb since it's a hauppauge remote, not media center, so i don't know what module it is... but i suspect it's "ir_common", gonna test that [01:03] /var/log/messages (or dmesg) may tell you [01:03] bbl === Azelphur is now known as zz_Azelphur === zz_Azelphur is now known as Azelphur === mvetketel is now known as bogus-
