ailo_atpaultag: Feeling any better? I'm having a lot of problems coding. I get there, but ever so slowly.01:07
paultagailo_at: yeah, a bit. What's up? I'd be way more then happy to help01:16
paultagailo_at: have a path to checkout? I think I lost the URL01:16
ailo_atpaultag: git://gitorious.org/ubuntustudio-controls/ubuntustudio-controls.git01:18
ailo_atpaultag: The original controls is in a folder. 0.47-resource01:19
paultagcheers, let me check it out in a moment ailo_at, just getting sushi now. It's cloning to my desktop, I won't forget it01:19
ailo_atpaultag: Great. Let me know what you need or if you have any questions. I've tried to keep it somewhat orderly.01:21
paultagrighto!01:22
ailo_atpaultag: I'm probably not able to do anything for a couple of days on the code. I need to learn some things first. I'm going to work my way through the basics and get more acquainted with pyGTK, before I add anything more.01:33
ailo_atSo, feel free to do what you want with it01:34
paultagailo_at: sweet! You've hacked a ton in :)04:26
paultagailo_at: btw, you're using natty, arn't you?04:26
paultagI've had to tweek that glade back to 2.22 manually ;)04:26
ailo_atpaultag: Oh, never thought about that. 04:27
paultagailo_at: it's for natty04:27
paultagailo_at: it's totally cool :)04:27
paultagailo_at: until we want to backport, in which case we can roll a delta04:27
paultagailo_at: this looks really awesome. I'm going to go through and cut some fat (old code) out, and push04:28
scott-upstairssounds like you two are making progress :)04:34
paultagscott-upstairs: yup :)04:35
paultagscott-upstairs: what was all that to do with docmo? 04:35
ailo_atI would have done more, but my skills are not that great yet. It was good to get that far. Need to learn Python a lot better.04:35
paultagailo_at: it's all easy from here on out04:35
ScottLpaultag, i'm trying to entice some people to help with art04:39
ScottLi noticed some people are quiting the art team and thought, "hmmm, strike when the iron's hot!"04:40
ScottLbut seriously, they were complaining about someone on the team04:40
paultagah04:41
ScottLand i thought, maybe we could lure them over here by asking if anyone wants to help develop a small, collaborative group to work on art04:41
ScottLbut i wanted doctormo's opinion if it would be taken wrong or predatory ;)04:41
ScottLpaultag, did you know that doctormo was working on a package for bamboo tablets?04:41
paultagyes04:42
paultaghe has photos of mine :)04:42
paultagfor icons and such04:42
ScottLdid you know that he's having a wee bit of trouble with it?04:42
paultagyes, I did04:42
ailo_atI did some work on pimping the Ambience theme http://imagebin.org/13853204:42
ScottLthat's looking good ailo_at  :)04:42
ScottLif we had some customized icons to supplement it then it would look even better :)04:43
ailo_atThe folders are recolored Humanity. Other than that, I've just changed the colors on the theme04:43
ailo_atAnd the panel icons are the wrong sort: light04:43
ScottLi played around with the dark ambience theme that i linked earlier and i still had the xchat icon like you...04:44
ScottLwhich looked so...wrong04:44
ScottLat least contrasted with the rest of the theme, being all dark and grey :)04:45
ScottLbollocks, i'm tired but the boy is still awake :(04:46
ailo_atThat icon doesn't have a custom version, but it's not hard to do Mono style versions I think04:46
ailo_atSince they are mostly grey/white04:47
ailo_atJust copy that one, and recolor it. Recolor the text too.04:47
ailo_atMy plan was to use the Mono/Humanity theme as a base. Just change the color and style of the folders, and the arrows. Anything "Humanity" and turn it UbunstuStudio.04:50
ailo_atI'm not being too serious about it. It's just fun to do it.04:51
scott-worki've signed up for the ubuntu-artwork mailing list and there really seems to be a lot of schizm14:37
scott-worki've read about these types of occurances before but they seemed almost like urban legends14:38
scott-workkinda weird to be seeing it first hand though14:38
scott-workoh, i should point out that i don't believe the schizm is because i signed up for the ubuntu-artwork mailing list :P14:43
ailo_atscott-work: Seems like they're not very happy over there.14:48
scott-workailo_at: i was really hoping to entice some of them to help us and they could recreate their group with ubuntu studio, but alas, it doesn't look like anyone is interested :(15:20
ailo_atscott-work: Only been a few hours since you posted ;). 15:23
scott-workwell, yeah, that's true...but i felt like the opportunity would be there while they were still emotional and upset :P15:24
scott-workthe longer they wait the longer probably wouldn't want to make the change15:24
scott-workailo_at: i'm going to feature you in my next blog post next week15:25
scott-worki talked a bit about alessio and holstein in this week's post15:25
ailo_atIt would be nice if someone with experience would want to chip in with the artwork. Feature me? What an honor.15:26
scott-workautostatic turned me on to this post:  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=168306715:34
scott-workit's most disappointing that someone extrapolates their singular experience into a complete failure for linux audio :(15:35
ailo_atI can understand the frustration from new users. I've had my share of problems setting up a system suitable for lowlatency audio. Two harddisks failed at once (mystery), with some distros I could not shut down the computer, there was some problem with my pci usb2 cards (irq, I think), network problems....BUT, when I get it working, it works. And there's nothing that can substitute the feeling of running an open source OS.15:43
ailo_at(not that other OS's don't have problems)..15:44
