penalvchRegarding bug 705838, LO does not crash it just closes, as expected. As per Microsoft ( http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/create-and-distribute-a-self-running-powerpoint-presentation-HA001034817.aspx ) this is intentional as a .pps (PowerPoint Show) file is supposed to only open in Slide Show view and not allow editing. This bug should be marked Invalid.05:27
ubot4Launchpad bug 705838 in openoffice.org (Ubuntu) (and 1 other project) "OpenOffice Impress crashes when I hit ESC key to exit fullscreen slideshow of some presentations (affects: 1) (heat: 130)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/70583805:27
micahgpenalvch: go ahead, add that link05:33
penalvchmicahg: Ok.05:33
micahgpenalvch: thanks05:33
micahgat best, I could see it as wishlist, but I'd consider that only if the reporter complains05:34
penalvchmicahg: Agreed.06:11
AbhijiThi06:40
AbhijiTwhile doint ubuntu-bugs libreoffice error that problem cannot be reported this is not genuine ubuntu package06:41
AbhijiTwhat to do?06:41
AbhijiThelp06:41
micahgAbhijiT: use ubuntu-bug, move it to libreoffice after filing06:42
AbhijiToh okay06:43
AbhijiTmicahg, in ubuntu-bug i choose last option that is other package but then it gives error chooose package first06:43
AbhijiTthere is not category for office06:44
micahgAbhijiT: don't worry about category, just file a generic bug and add the information, PPA packages aren't reportable in general with apport06:44
AbhijiTok. then for time being i selecty first one that is security bug06:45
micahgerr, don't do that unless it's a security bug06:45
AbhijiToh leave it. i wll report directly on launchpad06:45
micahgAbhijiT: that works too in this case :)06:45
AbhijiT:)06:45
AbhijiToh. bug reporting on launchpad for libreoffice is disabled grayed out. now i try on direct libreoffice bugzilla06:46
AbhijiT:(06:46
micahgAbhijiT: huh?06:47
AbhijiTyes06:47
AbhijiTi there are two projects libreoffice on launchad and bug reporting is grayed out for both06:47
micahgAbhijiT: it's in natty, so you can file bugs against it06:47
micahgAbhijiT: no, file it against Ubuntu06:47
micahglibreoffice package06:47
AbhijiTammmmm. oh okay ubuntu okay06:47
AbhijiTmicahg, report bug link on this page https://launchpad.net/ubuntu takes me to the wiki page and not to the actualy bug reporting page?06:49
micahgAbhijiT: right, which is why I said to use ubuntu-bug genercially06:50
AbhijiT:(06:50
AbhijiTand dunno how to use ubuntu bug generically.06:50
micahgthere are instructions to file a bug manually on that wiki page06:50
micahgAbhijiT: just run ubuntu-bug06:50
AbhijiTi run that06:52
AbhijiTnow there is dialog box asking to select category. which one to select?06:52
* micahg doesn06:55
micahgt know, maybe other06:55
AbhijiTok06:55
AbhijiTmicahg, done finally here https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3449407:01

AbhijiTmicahcowan, what is that CC list means?07:01
AbhijiTmicahg, ^^^07:01
micahgAbhijiT: that probably should've been filed on launchpad07:02
AbhijiTbut i cant. :907:02
AbhijiT:(07:02
micahgunless the upstream ibus support doesn't exist07:02
AbhijiTmicahg, you konw anyone who maitence launchapd LO ppa? so that i can contact him07:02
micahgAbhijiT: you can just file a bug on Launcphad :P07:03
AbhijiTyeah but i told naa in ubuntu that report bug is taking me to ubuntu wiki. there is no way to actually submit the bug07:03
AbhijiT:(07:03

erkan^hello, is someone there ?17:35
erkan^I have a problem with lekhonee-gnome, that can not install on Ubuntu. My OS is ubuntu 10.10 and see a paste: http://paste.ubuntu.com/569692/17:36
micahgerkan^: it depends on an uninstallable package17:39
* micahg should try to get a new version in natty17:39
erkan^i see a website: https://fedorahosted.org/lekhonee/ ; last version is 0.9.1 or 0.11 micahcowan17:40
erkan^:S17:40
erkan^sorry micahcowan17:41
erkan^micahg,17:41
micahgyes, Debian has 0.11, but they only seem to have the GNOME version17:41
erkan^http://packages.debian.org/source/sid/lekhonee-gnome17:42
micahgthis is actually bug 53877317:44
ubot4Launchpad bug 538773 in pida (Debian) (and 9 other projects) "Please remove python-gtkhtml2 from package dependencies (affects: 59) (dups: 6) (heat: 256)" [Unknown,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/53877317:44
erkan^ok17:46
erkan^what can I do now, micahg ? or nothing? :S17:48
micahgerkan^: propose a debdiff that fixes it for that package if you can17:49
erkan^debdiff ?17:50
micahg!debdiff | erkan^17:51
ubot4erkan^: A simple way to patch Debian/Ubuntu packages is to attach a debdiff to a bug report, or send it to the team which handles the package. Learn more about it from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide/Howtos/Debdiff17:51
erkan^ok i go read17:53
erkan^that is difficult information for me, because my engilish is not good, micahg18:07
micahgerkan^: ok, don't worry about it then18:08
erkan^ok, i go eat. later see i what i do ... thank you micahg (-:18:08
Tetsuo55hello, does anyone know if there is already a bug ticket for the display failing to enable when switching between laptop and standalone display?23:13
hggdhTetsuo55: there might be. But it is probably better to open a new one -- the specifics of video and computer hardware, plus UBuntu version may play into the bug, and23:22
hggdhTetsuo55: pretty much make it unique (or near so)23:23
Tetsuo55ok i opened a new bug23:28
Tetsuo55i need your help one more time23:28
Tetsuo55there is also a related bug, or missing feature23:29
Tetsuo55my laptop has a hardware button for switching between internal and external display23:29
Tetsuo55but to ubuntu it doesnt exist23:29
Tetsuo55i cannot find anything using some basic keywords, maybe it has a special name?23:29
Tetsuo55I also have a bunch of open bugs that i can no longer reproduce, does that mean i can close them?23:32
hggdhTetsuo55: (1) hardware button for switching between internal/external display: yes, please open a bug for linux;23:38
hggdhTetsuo55: (2) your own open bugs that you cannot reproduce anymore: if *no action* has been done on them, then please:23:39
hggdha.  add a comment you cannot reproduce anymore and add the current version of the package (where you cannot reproduce anymore)23:40
hggdhb.  close the bug invalid23:40
hggdhIf others have piped in, or bugs made a dup of yours (or yours made a dup) -- on the (current) primary bug, do action (a) above, but *do* *not* close it23:41
Tetsuo55ok23:43
Tetsuo55what about this crash " npviewer.bin crashed with SIGSEGV"23:48
Tetsuo55i have many bugs open for that, most of them seem to be private23:48
Tetsuo55reported between september and october, since i report all my crashes they seem to be fixed, as i have not reported new ones since then23:54
Tetsuo55im still using the same packadge, but i believe the binary gets updated while the wrapper stays the same23:55
