=== ailo_ is now known as help [03:35] please can someone take a look to this bug 721602? [03:35] Launchpad bug 721602 in google-gadgets (Ubuntu) (and 1 other project) "Typo in description field (affects: 1) (heat: 1089)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/721602 [03:42] * persia triages [03:44] thanks persia ^^, now I can sleep peacefully [03:44] Rcart: I'm having trouble finding the upstream bugtracker (from http://code.google.com/p/google-gadgets-for-linux/) [03:45] You don't happen to know where it is located, do you? [03:45] Ah, nevermind. FOund it. [03:45] persia: Where you found it? [03:45] http://code.google.com/p/google-gadgets-for-linux/issues/list [03:46] But it's not an upstream issue: the problem is only in the packaging [03:46] yep, just for the desktop entry, right? [03:47] Hrm? The desktop entry also has that issue? From the bug, I thought it was only the long description [03:47] Oh!, my bad XD [03:47] sure, is just in the d/control file (: [03:48] btw, I've been working in this bug 710132 [03:48] Launchpad bug 710132 in nted (Debian) (and 1 other project) "NtEd in menu is without caption (affects: 1) (heat: 10)" [Unknown,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/710132 [03:48] I've filed a bug in Debian, but worked in an Ubuntu branch too [03:49] I just wanna know, if you think the Ubuntu branch is needed? [03:49] Up to you. Generally we don'T tend to fix that class of bugs in Ubuntu, and work with Debian (as you've done). [03:50] Great, I pushed it if is was needed (: [03:50] That said, if you *really* care, and want to manage the differences, applying the patch to Ubuntu, and then reverting it when it can be sourced from Debian (or managing the merge effort if there are other changes in Debian that cause the patch to need to be rebased), you're welcome to take that on. [03:51] No harm done. A few here and there doesn't matter, and does improve the distribution. [03:52] But wholesale adjustments are better done in Debian (or upstream, depending), unless the person making the adjustments is willing to take care of them long-term. [03:53] So, in this bug we have to wait Debian response? [03:55] That's up to you. Would you prefer to wait and sync, or manage the differential if that takes a while? [03:57] I think that wait and sync should be the best way to follow.... [03:57] Besides, it's not a deadly bug (: [03:57] In that case, unless someone else feels differently, we'll wait for Debian. If someone gets all motivated, they might apply the patch in Ubuntu. [03:59] Understood [03:59] persia: Thanks. [04:04] * Rcart is sleeping [04:54] Please set importance of bug 646157 to low/medium [04:54] Launchpad bug 646157 in openoffice.org (Ubuntu) (and 2 other projects) "Calc loses row height value when modifying a cell (affects: 1) (heat: 8)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/646157 [04:54] for libreoffice [05:02] penalvch: done [05:02] micahg: Thank you. [05:02] penalvch: thank you for helping with bugs :) [09:16] Hi [09:16] My nm-applet takes about 1.3G of memory, and I wonder if this is a bug [09:17] my question is, how do I gather info about the process before I kill it/restart it and start working on other things again [09:20] using "apport-bug nm-applet " or "ubuntu-bug nm-applet" gives me a package does not exist, and "ubuntu-bug network-manager-gnome" says that it is not a genuine ubuntu package [09:25] Do you have any non-Ubuntu repositories enabled? [09:25] e.g. a PPA? [09:26] Yes, but not for the package involved [09:28] however... [09:28] apt-cache showpkg network-manager-gnome [09:28] Package: network-manager-gnome [09:28] Versions: [09:28] 0.8.2+git.20101123t161608.f143e76-0ubuntu1 (/var/lib/apt/lists/ppa.launchpad.net_elementaryart_elementarydesktop_ubuntu_dists_maverick_main_binary-amd64_Packages) (/var/lib/dpkg/status) [09:28] probably means that it came from a elementary PPA [09:28] which I disabled some months ago... [09:35] Thanks for the suggestion, I reverted it to the original network-manager-gnome. I did not expect that package to be in the elementary PPA.
