RcartHello. I think that this bug 723820 is a config problem and not purely a *bug*, so I marked it as Opinion, and told the reporter to ask in places like answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu, and askubuntu.com. But the reporter is saying that it's a bug. So please can someone give a look to it?00:46
ubot4Launchpad bug 723820 in ubuntu "No sound from M-Audio Delta 1010LT (ICE1712 chipset) from fresh install Ubuntu (probably Ubuntustudio to) (affects: 1) (heat: 8)" [Undecided,Opinion] https://launchpad.net/bugs/72382000:46
lifelessRcart: a fresh install shouldn't need configuration00:51
Rcartlifeless: Suggested summary: [ICE1712 - M Audio Delta 1010LT] PA test tone failed (alsa tone succeeded)01:03
lifelesssure01:03
Rcartand this too: The test did sucessfully play the first tones but not the second or if it was vic versa (i was on the phone between the test and bug summary - dont remember).01:04
penalvchAnyone with a Natty VM/box open please confirm libreoffice bug 62675504:56
ubot4Launchpad bug 626755 in openoffice.org (Ubuntu) (and 1 other project) "Opened .docx I downloaded from Microsoft, and soffice.bin crashed with SIGSEGV in SwXTextRange::~SwXTextRange() (affects: 1) (heat: 10)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/62675504:56

kklimondaheh, the current natty live installer is quite broken05:06
penalvchkklimonda: np thank you for responding.05:14
mrluksomHi06:40
mrluksomWhen triaging bugs in applications like evolution or nautilus that consist of, or interact with numerous packages, how do you know which package to file the bug against?06:42
cdbsmrluksom: file the bug against one package and click the 'Also affects distribution' link to add a task for another package06:43
mrluksomOk, but what clues should I be looking for that say a bug reported against nautilus should actually be against indicator-appmenu for example in bug 722457?06:49
ubot4Launchpad bug 722457 in indicator-appmenu (Ubuntu) "nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_atomic_int_exchange_and_add() (dup-of: 703988)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/72245706:50
ubot4Launchpad bug 703988 in vim (Ubuntu) (and 2 other projects) "(various) crashed with SIGSEGV in g_atomic_int_exchange_and_add()/g_variant_unref/?libappmenu.so/g_simple_async_result_complete (affects: 44) (dups: 41) (heat: 451)" [Low,Invalid] https://launchpad.net/bugs/70398806:50

MadCow108is there any policy on who I can subscribe to a bug? e.g. can I just subscribe the Pythonistas team to a python mudule bug (universe)?09:44
=== yofel_ is now known as yofel
hggdhMadCow108: I do not think you can subscribe others anymore13:37
hggdhunless you are one of the package/team administrators13:37
yofelhggdh: I think you can subscribe them, you can't assign bugs to other persons anymore (unless you have sufficient permissions)13:57
hggdhyofel: right, I confused subscription with assignment, thank you for correcting me13:58
* hggdh *HAS* to really wake up.13:58
* hggdh goes for the mystical coffee13:58
hggdhah, Brazilian coffee... that's good :-)13:58
yofel^^14:00
hggdhyofel: my mother-in-law just arrived from Brazil (she is german, living in Brazil, complex story)14:02
hggdhyofel: and... with her, 5 kilos of good coffee!14:02
yofel:D14:02
MadCow108hggdh: is ubuntu-sponsors an exception then?14:17
hggdhMadCow108: as yofel just pointed out, I was wrong. You _can_ subscribe other people/teams14:20
hggdhMadCow108: I confused it with _assignment_14:20

jibelbug 72424215:35
ubot4Launchpad bug 724242 in udev (Ubuntu Natty) (and 1 other project) "alternate and server images fail to install: d-i stops with "Your installation CD-ROM couldn't be mounted" (affects: 1) (heat: 8)" [High,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/72424215:35

MadCow108can anybody post a feature freeze exception and fix it (via sponsors, provided it is granted) or must these be done by ubuntu-devs?17:13
kklimondafix what?17:19
MadCow108the reason for the exception17:19
MadCow108e.g. new upstream release17:19
kklimondabut what package are you talking about?17:20
MadCow108python-foolscap17:22
MadCow10872483717:22
MadCow108I just got a reply from the last uploader, I'll work it out the details with him17:22
MadCow108my question was more general17:23
kklimondaif there is an urgency to get some package uploaded it's best to contact the last uploader in person, or in case of universe packages, send the email to the motu ML.17:25
kklimondasubscribing whole teams to bugs doesn't make sense17:25
kklimondain best case you will just confuse a lot of people, who have no idea what the bug is about, and why are they getting the email.17:26
kklimondain the worst case the team email is deliberately to some catch-all address, and no one will get it.17:26
MadCow108no I was just wondering if fixing these kind of issues is only allowed by ubuntu-dev/members/... or if anyone can do it providing he has a sponsor17:28
