[19:07] <charlie-tca> he doesn't need the menu. You can go to /etc/default/grub and edit the line to remove "quiet splash"
[19:08] <charlie-tca> since the computer does work most of the time, that is a way to edit grub without using the grub menu

[19:12] <charlie-tca> after editing that file, he must use "sudo update-grub" in a terminal to make it take effect
