xiambaxanyone else notice unity is super buggy and so is cairo-dock08:27
xiambaxcould possibly be compiz related?08:27
gnomefreakxiambax: alot of the problems is due to compiz, but i would need to know what the problem is. im going for a smoke now but if you can give me more info while im gone would be great.08:29

xiambaxand the whole system locks up08:40
xiambaxmy titlebar goes to a default colour08:40
xiambaxwindows stay the same08:40
gnomefreakxiambax: are you sure its not compiz causing the crash. there was/is alot of bugs on compiz crashing08:41
gnomefreaki have not tried to change the theme yet.08:41
xiambaxi had to disable cairo-dock from starting at login as it was causing things to crash08:41
xiambaxim pretty sure its compiz as if i do a compiz --replace it starts back up fine08:41

CarlFKThis is about 3 years old: http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/libtheora0  1.1.1+dfsg.1-3 "  There is no chance of getting that updated, right?15:44
CarlFKor is in universe...   im fuzzy on what can be updated when15:45
yofelwell, that was just synced from debian, they don't have anything newer either. You can file an update request on launchpad, if you want that in natty though you'll need a Feature Freeze Exception15:46
yofelbtw, all packages have the same timeline to be updated, regardless of the component. They're just affected by the DebianImport and Feature freezes15:47
GayspyWhen updatig is a "problem with mergelist" problem with repos or my system?15:50
yofelGayspy: if it happens once it's usually an issue with apt, if it happens in succession I would blame the server15:53
yofelGayspy: you could try to remove the files in /var/lib/apt/lists/ and try to update again15:54
CarlFKyofel: thanks. is there a pointer to the debian maintainer so I can bug them?15:55
yofelCarlFK: apt-cache showsrc libtheora0 will list the maintainer15:57
CarlFKi'll also get a current version into a PPA which will satisfy my needs.  I don't think it warrants an exception15:57
rocky1is the default graphical environment for Natty still X or is it now Wayland?16:06

Paranoid1hello...i have downloaded a alpha version (natty) on my laptop and saw many bugs on it... so i try to repair pakages and install new things on it... after it i get a warning ("warning, cannot open consoleKit session: unable to open session: the permission of the setuid helper is not correct")...i push on the OK button and nothing happend... i cannot boot my system normaly... and dont know what to do18:48
Paranoid1can someone pls help me?18:49

Paranoid1i boot now from a CD18:53
Paranoid1can i also do it here??18:53
coz_Paranoid1,  well if you are on a live cd it really wouldnt amount to much since it would be set in memory and lost after you reboot18:54
Paranoid1yhym... so should i close it and boot it normaly??18:55
coz_Paranoid1,  are you eventually going to install this to a hard drive?18:56
Paranoid1no...natty is already installed on my harddrive (and all my stuff is on it)...18:57
Paranoid1i only use the cd, cause i couldnt use nothing18:57
coz_Paranoid1,  ah ok,, well then just play with the live cd,,  you can try the update thing but as you can see natty is not really ready18:57
yofelParanoid1: you can update your natty installation on the HDD if you chroot18:58
Paranoid1whats that?18:58
ubottuA chroot is used to make programs believe that the directory they are running in is really the root directory. It can be used to stop programs accessing files outside of that directory, or for compiling 32bit applications in a 64bit environment - see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BasicChroot18:58

AlanBellhi all http://paste.ubuntu.com/583935/19:17
AlanBellI am struggling with Natty and virtualbox from a recent upgrade, then a fresh install from the dailies19:17
AlanBellwhen I install virtualbox guest additions X doesn't start because of an ABI mismatch19:18
AlanBellI have recompiled the modules with /etc/init.d/vboxadd setup but still get the same error http://paste.ubuntu.com/583937/19:19
AlanBellit is complaining a bit about a lack of kernel header files (although linux-headers-generic is installed) however it seems to be an xorg ABI issue rather than a kernel thing I think19:20
yofelAlanBell: that's known I think19:21

IdleOneconstructive criticism is welcome. Whining and moaning about what doesn't work is not.21:45
