=== ogra is now known as Guest67326 === Guest67326 is now known as ogra_ [12:20] hi [12:20] I have a query with fakesink [12:20] did anyone try this [12:21] gst-launch filesrc location= xyz.mp4 ! qtdemux ! nal2bytestream_h264 ! omxh264dec ! fakesink [12:22] seems have problem === ogra_ is now known as ogra [13:05] WOHOOO !!!! [13:05] serial output of oam-config on the serial console [13:05] finally !!! [13:05] *oem === ericm_ is now known as ericm === chuck_ is now known as zul [14:49] ogra: Great!. What was it? [14:51] GrueMaster, debian-installer/framebuffer defaults to true [14:51] ah. [14:51] setting it to false forces serial [14:52] now tracking the missing user creation [14:52] and why serial is so screwed up wrt display [14:58] GrueMaster, do you usually use screen or minicom for serial ? [14:58] * ogra would like to know if the UI looks any better under screen [14:58] I use minicom due to its logging capabilities, but have used screen also. [14:59] (and it is more familiar to me). [15:00] i would like to know if the window frames are as screwed up as in minicom ... i cant really see whats selected ofr example [15:00] *for [15:00] and the frames are all special chars [15:01] also UTF-8 seems to not work at all [15:01] I'll look into it. Is the fix for oem-config on today's image? [15:02] Or can I munge it to work? [15:02] you can just use the last build from today [15:02] (i did several the last two days) [15:02] just dont expect it to create a user :) [15:03] seems the final bit of ubiquity isnt run at all (its not in the debconf UI code in ubiquity) [15:03] so thats why we end up without user [15:03] ah [15:04] * ogra fires up another isntall to collect some screenshots === chuck_ is now known as zul === prpplague^2 is now known as prpplague [16:37] GrueMaster, exporting TERM=vt100 before minicom makes the UI work [16:37] ok [16:37] That can also be set in minicom. [16:38] likely [16:38] but i would like to see it working on the other side actually :) [16:38] so we dont need to change it on the client side [16:39] wait, what? The TERM=VT100 should be set on the host (minicom) side, right? [16:39] What does that have to do with the image? [16:43] i want debconf to provide the right stuff that we dont have to switch from xterm to vt100 [16:43] Is this over serial? [16:43] lool, yep [16:43] oem-config [16:44] The thing is this is going to depend from your connecting terminal, if you connect from linux console instead it will be different; you could use SSH instead as to pass the terminal information [16:44] lool, bug 736111 [16:44] Launchpad bug 736111 in ubiquity "oem-config does not respect the console on serial tty" [High,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/736111 [16:44] lool, well, it would be good if a default gnome-terminal connection gets me a working UI [16:45] sure i might connect somehow different but i want a working default [16:45] i think in console we export linux for TERM [16:45] Why would the default be gnome-terminal? [16:45] so i would like to see it working with xetrm and linux set [16:46] well, gnome-terminal, xterm kterm whatever [16:46] they should all use the same TERM setting in ubuntu afaik [16:46] It's all different emulations [16:47] Anyway, I'm sure cjwatson can provide better input [16:47] but you could consider SSH as well, this would avoid the problem entirely [16:47] not for natty [16:48] extending the headless image to different other install variants isnt something i want to do right before beta [17:44] Hi, does anyone know how to play a full HD movie on the pandaboard ? I installed the omap4 addons, and it does not seem to work. [19:00] I just booted the OMAP3 image on my gumstix overo as per these instructions here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/OMAPMaverickInstall and it took me immediately to the ubuntu login screen. I replaced the fat32 partition with pre-built MLO, u-boot, and uImage from Gumstix Is there some sort of default credentials I should be using? I was under the impression it would do an install process [19:04] amelim: you're probably not loading the uInitrd, then the installer will not start [19:05] as a consequence no user is created [19:09] can I grab that file separately somewhere or will I have copy the whole preinstalled image over again? [19:17] amelim: it'd be good to copy it from the preinstalled image, as it's the first initrd created, with instructions to startup the installer and do the disk resize [19:18] amelim: but you can also mount the img file if you have that at your host, and just grab the file without the need to write it again [19:20] I'm just reflashing my SD to get a fresh image. Should I encounter any issues if I just copy over the gumstix specific files directly to that partition? [19:27] amelim: it should work, if your u-boot is loading the boot.src file === Amaranth_ is now known as Amaranth === prpplague^2 is now known as prpplague
