[08:22] i still stuck with no sound problem [08:22] :( [08:24] anybody can help me? [08:24] what's the problem exactly? [08:25] ochosi i just get xubuntu fresh installed [08:25] but there is no sound when login or watching video on youtube [08:26] when i do lspci | grep Audio [08:26] i got [08:26] 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) [08:27] alsamixer and pulseaudiomixer already in unmuted status [08:27] you mean there is no sound at all or just not in youtube? [08:27] but still no sound [08:27] (there is no login-sound in xubuntu by default) [08:27] yea no sound at all [08:28] did it work in any other linux distro or is xubuntu the first you tried? [08:29] i'm using xubuntu pidgin now and it supposed to have sound when i send and receive message [08:30] well this is the1st time i installe xubuntu 10.10 on lenovo 3000 y400 [08:31] it's just a very generic approach but you could try to uninstall pulseaudio [08:31] then only alsa will be used and there's a slight chance that that might fix your problems [08:31] reboot after that [08:32] you need to have gstreamer0.10-alsa installed [08:36] uninstall pulseaudio? [08:36] apt-get remove ...... [08:36] what its package name? [08:36] that [08:37] well pulseaudio [08:38] Sysi after uninstall then reboot then install gstreamer0.10-alsa? [08:38] maybe better to install it before reboot [08:39] ok [08:41] how to enable sound when login? [08:41] login sound === Thermi_ is now known as Thermi [19:38] Alright, how's the Natty Alpha 3 working? Really rough? Or just minor hiccups? [19:39] Firefox 4.0 final today! [19:39] For me, natty works great [19:39] I am sooo jonesing to make the switch. Been running Mint 10 for the last couple of months. [19:40] I miss Xubuntu. Wish I'd never strayed. Forgive me! [19:47] Didn't mint just announce Mint Xfce 10? [19:50] Not sure. I've been off the grid for the last week. [19:52] Looks like it's a Release Candidate http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=1708 & built on the rolling Debian, not Ubuntu.
