dpmgood morning everyone08:06
andrejzgood morning08:06
TLEgood morning08:08
dpmmorning andrejz and TLE08:23
andrejzyou guys had anything running for ugj?08:37
TLEI think the danish ubuntu team was trying to get something of the ground, but I was in the middle of travelling to I don't know how much got done08:39
TLEhow about you08:39
andrejzyeah, we had something. it was quite good. in contrast to last year we decided to meet in person08:41
dpmandrejz, yeah, we got quite a lot done, I'm going to blog about it later on today on the planet08:42
dpmwe had a good time08:42
andrejzsomebody else within the team has appointed himself for blogging, so i am waiting for him to do it08:42
dpm:)08:43
andrejzwe did a bit of statistics while we were doing it08:43
andrejzalthough some stuff is not counted in since some people were working on upstream packages, so that's not counted in launchpad08:43
andrejzbut in total there were 17 people (some were not there for the whole day) and about 2000 strings were reviewed and 1500 translated, so wea re quite happy with the outcome08:44
andrejz:)08:45
andrejzwe decided to review all ubuntu specific (Non gnome string) thouroughly one more time before 11.04, so now we are working on that and kubuntu docs08:45
dpmcool :)08:47
TLEhead_victim: nice09:25
TLE*G*09:25
head_victimI'm a bit of a spelling and grammar nut.09:25
TLEI remember reading the project discription for the british translation team once09:25
head_victimWe're almost identical to them09:26
TLEdecribing it as the ultimate nitpicking effort *G*09:27
TLEmade me laugh so hard09:27
TLEhttp://live.gnome.org/BritishEnglish09:28
TLEoh well, sounds like you got a lot of work done, and even better recruited a few volounteers, quite the accomplishment09:28
head_victimIt's actually not as easy as you'd think checking all the strings for subtle differences.09:29
head_victimYou go a bit numb after a while :)09:29
TLENo, I could imagine it is not easy09:30
head_victimhttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/Projects/Translation#Ubuntu%20Global%20Jam%20Saturday%20Second%20of%20April%202011 Sorry for the long link but on that note I'm off. Enjoy your translations09:32
TLEthanks09:32

dpmhenninge-lunch, when you're back I've got a question for you:13:14
dpmI was trying to find out why the gdm translations did not get imported, and I think it's because of the fact that they are now imported from bzr upstream branches instead of packages. I've noticed that on https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/gdm the upstream connection is set to the master branch instead of gnome-2-3213:14
dpmwhich is wrong13:16
dpmas we're not using the 'master' branch in natty, but the 'gnome-2-32' one13:17
dpmso, the questions are: how to fix this? Does lp supports setting bzr upstream imports for something else than the master branch?13:20
dpm(just to answer myself the last question: importing branches other than the main one from git is not yet supported, but nearly complete in bzr)13:36

Daniel0108hi19:40
Daniel0108I have a question :)19:40
Daniel0108I am the leader of the Ubuntu Austria LoCo.19:40
Daniel0108When I want to edit the languages of our team19:41
Daniel0108it says:19:41
Daniel0108Languages in Austria:19:41
Daniel0108German, German (Austria), Walser19:41
Daniel0108but there's no German (Austria) to select :)19:41
Daniel0108Is it possible to add German (Austria) to the list of all languages?19:43
Daniel0108Because the differences between German and German (Austria) are like the differences between English (United Kingdom) and English (Canada) or English (Australia) :)19:44
Andre_GondimDaniel0108, maybe you can ask in the translator mail list19:51
Daniel0108okay19:51
Daniel0108thank you, Andre_Gondim, can you give me the mailing list email? :P19:51

Daniel0108thanks :)19:52
trijntjeHi all, can someone take a look a this link and tell me how we should proceed with translating?20:49
trijntjehttps://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/software-center/+pots/software-center/nl/+translate?batch=10&show=all&search=infringing20:49
trijntjeespecially the 'consult a lawyer' part20:49
askhl_Heh, that's a bit silly.  Maybe the comment was meant for coders, not translators, for surely it's not legally very useful in non-English-speaking countries.  That being said it's remarkable that we still get to translate it20:51
trijntjewell, ill just translate it as best I can, and hope Canonicals lawyers dont come knocking when something goes wrong ;)21:02
TLEtrijntje: of they didn't bother writing somewhere that the legally binding text is the english original, and not the translation, then it is not your problem, then it is them that messed up21:03
TLElegals texts is something that organisations sometimes pay lawyers quite a bit of money to write, we can't possibly be expected to translate them with a 1:1 legal correspondance, becaue then you would have to be a lawyer too21:05
trijntjeagreed21:08
TLEAhh Dutch translation21:19
TLEI'm located in Leiden at the moment21:19
trijntjeTLE, really? me too ;)21:20
TLEYes, I'm visiting the interface physics group at the University for the next 4 weeks21:21
trijntjeI googled them, looks interesting21:24
trijntjeat what university are you usually located?21:24
TLEThe tecknical univeristy in denmark21:27
