[01:37] hey === daker_ is now known as daker [09:49] Does somebody know where i can get a description about how to create an own iconset? [09:49] pentesilea_: http://design.canonical.com/brand/8.%20Pictograms.pdf [09:49] and more information can be found here: http://design.canonical.com/the-toolkit/ubuntu-brand-guidelines/ [09:52] chaotic, iainfarrell, ivanka: i have some questions about the guidelines. Our loco team is creating a new logo, i've made some mockups here: http://wiki.ubuntu-nl.org/Artwork/Projecten/Logos/Ubuntu-NL#Ronnie . It contains a modification of the COF, while its against the brand guidelines, do we get into trouble if we use such icons ? [09:53] hey Ronnie [09:53] let me have a look [09:53] the guidelines we produced were more for people using the CoF referring to us [09:53] so if someone in the press was talking about Ubuntu [09:53] then we don't want them using the logo incorrectly [09:54] your loco team should be allowed to play with it [09:54] for your own identifying graphic [09:54] Ronny: thanks! But there I ould not find anything about the names and directories of the icons. [09:55] iainfarrell: thx!. Are there any limitations to the extend we can play with it, for example colou use restricted to one color (and white) ? [09:56] let me go talk to Marcus, our brand guardian [09:56] 2 secs [10:01] Ronnie: I will have a look on this documents. [10:02] hey Ronnie [10:02] so I chatted to Marcus [10:03] and one thing we were thinking about your graphics you've made [10:03] is that there's a lot going on in a very small area [10:03] it's quite hard to see the country in there [10:03] I was thinking maybe using some detail from a flag [10:04] might be a nice way to go [10:04] because it would scale a bit better than the outline of a country [10:04] and it's more in keeping with the graphic style we use in pictograms we commission [10:05] our flag does not have much details http://www.engelsehoeve.nl/images/NL-Flag.gif and the colors really do not match, orange with the flag is horrable [10:06] if i leave the colors out, there isnt much left [10:06] Ronnie: see what you mean [10:08] well to look at it another way, what is there that says "netherlands" ? :) [10:12] iainfarrell: thats very hard. there are typically dutch things, but there all from the year 1900 (mills, wooden shoes). We have tulips, but thats not dutch specific. and we have a lot of water [10:12] we have a lion (the shape of out country) [10:12] mills and shoes seem like a good place to start if they resonate [10:12] because they are quite distinct [10:12] I think the Mill would be nice [10:12] very obvious shape [10:12] distinct arms [10:13] and would still be easy to make out when small [10:14] hmm, ill have a look [15:25] chaotic, What is the expected design of the memenu entry box? Is this proper -> http://picpaste.com/Screenshot-kHITyalj.png [15:36] dashua: hi, I'll need to check. It's been a while since I looked at the Me Menu designs [15:37] dashua: although I think originally we used a light background to make it feel more like a field [16:07] chaotic, Ok thanks, there are a few usability bugs reported on it and was trying to get it fixed. === daker is now known as daker_
