arjunaraochi  I do not see localised Banshee with ubuntu 11.04 beta 2. Can someone explain what is needed to get localised banshee08:26
artnayarjunaraoc: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/76025808:28
ubot4Launchpad bug 760258 in banshee (Ubuntu) (and 2 other projects) "Banshee shows untranslated due to an wrongly-named .mo file (affects: 3) (heat: 24)" [Undecided,Invalid]08:28
artnayso someone thought renaming is cool for no obvious reason and therefore translations were broken08:29
arjunaraocthanks artnay08:30
dpmgood morning08:34
andrejzmorning08:36
arjunaraocHi,  I am reviewing 11.04 Beta 2 in Telugu and found that system settings  the names of the following are still in english Computer janitor, startup disk creator, Open JDK Java6 Policy tool, Broadcast Accounts, Broadcast preferences.  Can someone help locate the strings in launchpad packages08:39
dpmhi andrejz08:42
dpmhi arjunaraoc, for the java tool, I think it is untranslatable (you might want to file a bug); for computer janitor: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/computer-janitor/+pots/computerjanitor/te/+translate; startup disk creator: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/usb-creator/+pots/usbcreator/te/+translate; broadcast accounts and preferences: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/gwibber/+p08:46
dpmots/gwibber/te/+translate08:46
arjunaraocThx dpm08:47
dpmno worries08:47
arjunaraocRegarding computer janitor Telugu string was translated as of  23 March https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/computer-janitor/+pots/computerjanitor/te/+translate?batch=10&show=all&search=computer+janitor08:51
arjunaraocany reason why it did not make it to beta2?08:51
arjunaraocsame issue with startup disk creator https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/usb-creator/+pots/usbcreator/te/+translate?batch=10&show=all&search=disk+creator08:53
artnayarjunaraoc: when was your language pack built?08:53
artnayapt-cache show language-pack-name08:53
arjunaraocartnay help me with the command please08:54
arjunaraocandrej my empathy  behaved abnormally,  please share the command one more time08:55
artnayarjunaraoc: if you're running beta 2 or up-to-date natty, open terminal and type apt-cache show language-pack-te08:55
artnayit should show you the date08:56
arjunaraocthx artnay  the telugu language pack Version: 1:11.04+2011040708:57
arjunaraocour strings should have made it to beta 208:57
artnayarjunaraoc: you could update the latest packages from main server and see if it helps09:08
artnayby default your system downloads packages from the nearest possible server (which might have older packages than the main server)09:09
arjunaraocUnfortunately http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/language-pack-te shows the same version number and date09:12
arjunaraocAs the entries are updated much before the build date, I could not understand how they could have been missed.09:14
arjunaraocone more question.  Where are the entries for Keyboard layout?  like USA India Telugu, Keyboard preferences etc09:19
artnayarjunaraoc: might have been gnome-control-center-2.009:33
arjunaraocartnay, I checked it. It is fully translated long time back. I could not find India Telugu. I think these may be coming from some other package may be install. If it is install, we have translated debian-install 100%09:37
arjunaraocThe strings are not handled in the panel menus. within the control-centre they are fine.09:46
artnayarjunaraoc: can you file a bug? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bugs?field.searchtext=layout&orderby=-importance&search=Search&field.status%3Alist=NEW&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITH_RESPONSE&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITHOUT_RESPONSE&field.status%3Alist=CONFIRMED&field.status%3Alist=TRIAGED&field.status%3Alist=INPROGRESS&field.status%3Alist=FIXCOMMITTED&field.assignee=&field.bug_reporter=&field.omit_dupes=on&field.has_pa09:58
artnayI don't think there exists one09:58
arjunaraocthx artnay. I will do that09:59
artnayI don't even remember using keyboard layout changer10:01
happyarondpm: hi, I think we should raise the priority of gnome-control-center on launchpad, since there are very visible strings (like the one you've asked me to fix)10:05
yurchorEntries for keyboard layouts are from xkeyboard-config: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/xkeyboard-config/+pots/xkeyboard-config/te/+translate10:08
yurchorBut I do not recomend to translate it now. Otherwise you will find just 33% for the next release. It would be better to translate version from TP.10:09
yurchorhttp://translationproject.org/domain/xkeyboard-config.html10:10
arjunaraocthx yurchor,  I have added your comment as well to the bug  https://bugs.launchpad.net/docky/+bug/76695910:14
ubot4Launchpad bug 766959 in docky "Keyboard switcher menu in panel does not use translations (affects: 1) (heat: 6)" [Undecided,New]10:14
artnayIs that specific to docky or is untranslated in Unity's panel as well?10:15
artnay...it...10:15
artnayarjunaraoc: I moved it under ubuntu-translations10:17
yurchorarjunaraoc: It does not use translation because LP translations are not used by xkeyboard-config at all. You have to translate them on TP (orexport LP translation to TP).10:17
arjunaraocUnderstand, we will take it up in due course10:18
arjunaraocI am not sure the difference between docky and unity's panel.10:18
arjunaraocI found the problem only in the panel (top right default place)10:18
arjunaraocWhen totem installs plugins, the messages in dialog box are in English. Where can I locate them for translation10:22
dpmhi happyaron, good point, I agree. Do you want to change the priority yourself, or shall I do it?10:22
yurchorarjunaraoc: In gstreamer.10:23
artnaywhat's wrong with gnome-control-center?10:24
happyarondpm: I'll do it now.10:25
dpmcool, thanks happyaron10:25
happyarondpm: and does gdebi still needed to be that high priority?10:29
happyaronIIRC it has been replaced by software-center10:29
arjunaraocthx yurchor10:29
dpmhappyaron, you are right, probably not. Feel free to lower it. If it's not installed by default, it probably falls under category #17 in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/TemplatesPriority10:32
yurchorhttps://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/Translations shows that KUbuntu switched to synaptiks. Does it make sense to have kcmtouchpad in 11.04 catalogue?10:33
happyarondpm: okay, thanks!10:34
dpmI've been meaning to go through the templates order for a while, but I haven't had the chance. If you see anything else that needs re-prioritising, feel free to change it. What I did last week, though, was to go through the imports queue to make sure no important templates were stuck. I approved a bunch of KDE templates and we went down from 400 'Needs Review' templates to ~100.10:34
happyaronGreat work, dpm :)10:35
dpmthanks ;)10:35
dpmhi yurchor, I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean that kcmtouchpad has moved to universe and we should remove it from the list of translatable templates, or that we should lower the priority of the template...?10:36
yurchordpm: I do not think that KDE needs to KCM modules to configure touchpads. BTW kcmtouchpad is a little bit unmaitained.10:38
yurchor^ two not to10:38
dpmyurchor, yeah, but are you suggesting we need to do anything in the context of templates in LP for kcmtouchpad?10:38
yurchorIf Kubuntu do not need two modules, there is no need to propose people to translate the unused. Maybe it is worth to remove it?10:40
* happyaron has lower gdebi to 160010:40
happyaronI've read there are several string changes just announced on ubuntu-translations@, but the freeze seems to have already in effect?10:41
=== henninge is now known as henninge-lunch
dpmhappyaron, yeah, the freeze is in effect, and developers should announce freeze exceptions. They've been doing a good job at it so far, but no one is perfect ans some passed unnoticed. I'm really happy the German team noticed, took the initiative and announced them on the list.12:49
dpmThat's community!12:49
artnaydpm: glad you asked about the "drop". shouldn't it be like "drag and drop to add application" ?12:57
dpmartnay, yeah, good point. Perhaps, but at this point, I'd rather not change it again :) Would you mind filing a bug against Unity to report it?13:01
artnaydpm: I'll do it later, first I have to see the tooltip in action13:01
dpmok, no worries13:01
happyarondpm: so when would be the next deadline?14:01
dpmhappyaron, in an hour :)14:01
happyaronOK14:02
dpmrun run run :)14:04
happyarondpm: what about the slidshow translations? are they still changeable now?14:14
askhl_Wait, final deadline is in one hour?14:15
dpmhappyaron, no, in principle they are not. They can only be translated until NonLanguagePackDeadline (last week). However, if you are lucky the devs might still do an export of translations14:15
happyaronaskhl_: seems yes14:15
happyarondpm: thanks14:15
dpmaskhl_, yeah, as mentioned in the list, in ~45 minutes, at 14:00 UTC14:16
askhl_dpm: thanks, I'll do some final review14:17
askhl_TLE: ping :)14:17
TLEpong14:17
TLEahh deadline nowish14:18
TLEcrap14:18
=== henninge-lunch is now known as henninge
andrejzi am just chilling cause i cannot find anything else to do :) really nice thing14:22
andrejzi need to do some docs, but it's not affected by the launchpad deadline14:23
happyaronwell, I was not participate very much in 10.10 and 11.04 cycles, but I'll be back in next one. :)14:24
askhl_crisis averted... not that much of a crisis actually :)14:40
dpmhappyaron, cool, happy to hear that and have you back in full swing next cycle! :-)14:54
* dpm rings the bell: translation deadline is up! \o/15:00
happyaron:)15:27
AJenbodpm, could you help clear some confusion about the translation deadline?17:48
AJenboacording to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyReleaseSchedule the deadline is UTC midnight to night17:49
dpmAJenbo, it was today at 14:00 UTC, as mentioned on the translators list. There isn't any mention of UTC midnight on that page ^17:50
AJenbodpm look at the top of the page17:51
AJenboFreezes normally happen at the start of the given date, UTC time.17:51
AJenboSo LanguagePackTranslationDeadline is 0:00 21 of April UTC17:52
AJenboIn the mail to the list you also say that the you would start generating the final lang pack Thursday 14:00, but that is 24 hours before deadline so how does that work?17:54
AJenboThe deadline you gave any way.17:54
dpmAJenbo, a freeze is not a deadline. If I said thursday, that was a mistake, but IIRC, I did mention explicitly that the deadline was on the 20th17:55
dpmanyway, I need to run, have a nice weekend!17:55
AJenbook17:55
AJenbodpm, it sayes deadline and not freeze17:56
AJenbobut if you are saying that the line about the UTC start of day only applys for freezes then at the very least the schedule is wrong about the date of the deadline17:59
AJenboas it sayes it is some time 21 of april18:00
Traumnesshi18:00
Traumness¿any en>es translator?18:00
Traumnesshow would you translate dropped in this context?18:06
TraumnessPanel applets using Bonobo aren't supported anymore and packages depending on it will be dropped.18:06
AJenboTraumness, don't know if this helps but i translated it as "release"18:40
AJenboTraumness, no wrong line18:40
Traumnesshehe :)18:41
AJenboTraumness, it's dropped as in "will no longer be used" or "will be removed"18:41
TraumnessAJenbo: I translated it this way >>> Los applets del panel que usan Bonobo ya no sirven por tanto los paquetes que dependan de él se eliminarán.18:43
Traumnessthanks, dude18:43
TraumnessI got another question18:43
Traumnesshow would you translate ( upstream update )?18:44
andrejzUpdate from the "source project"18:45
Traumnessokay18:50
Traumnessbye20:07
