apwdo we have a launchpad team for the kernel stable team ?09:35
smbapw, Hm, I don't think so10:09
=== yofel_ is now known as yofel
JFomutt is making me crazy14:12
tgardnerJFo, excessive tail wagging ?14:14
JFotgardner, I wish... a friends cat decided to sit on my keyboard the other day and it has been wonky ever since14:14
JFolikely it was sitting on it because there was a mutt running :-)14:15
tgardnerho ho14:15
JFoyeah, kitty almost met wal, but I wasn't going for distance :-D14:15
JFowal*14:15
JFogrrr14:15
JFowall*14:15
JFobut it is doing stupid things... like it will show me that there is one new message in a folder and then, when I go to that folder, there will be more.14:16
smbkitty could see into future and had revenge before that14:16
JFoso it seems :)14:16
JFoanother thing it will do is, while I am reading messages, one of the messages won't open when I get to it and mutt will say something like "can't open temporary file"14:17
JFothere are other oddities like that too14:17
JForeally annoying14:17
JFoI'll show you at UDS, I'm sure I won't have solved it by then14:18
ogasawarahrm, no bjf.  perfect, he can't object to me giving him a work item then :)14:35
ogasawarapgraner: work item definition error should be fixed now, let me know if you're still getting spammed14:36
tgardnerogasawara, assignment in absentia 14:36
pgranerogasawara, thanks14:36
ogasawaraJFo: the work item in your bug handling spec -> "[SRU Team] Develop/define process to address SRU release bugs.:TODO"14:37
pgranerogasawara, thanks all I had was my phone until just now14:37
pgranerogasawara, Oh so JFo broke it....14:38
ogasawaraJFo: "SRU Team" isn't actually a valid launchpad ID, so I switched it to bjf for now14:38
tgardnerpgraner, short flight? your calendar indicates you should be over Kansas or Nebraska by now.14:38
pgranerogasawara, don't we have a kernel-sru lp team?14:38
pgranertgardner, wifi on the plane14:39
ogasawarapgraner: I don't think so14:39
ogasawarasconklin: is there a kernel-sru lp team?14:39
pgranerogasawara, I thought we did or maybe that was a project14:39
tgardnerah, anyways it would be out of your way to fly over those states on your way to Dallas.14:39
pgranertgardner, yea I'm over tenn now or so the pilot said14:39
ogasawaratgardner: I've got the gcc error on arm fixed up only to run into the next build error.  am about to kick off a test build that hopefully resolves it.  Assuming that's the last of them, I'm gonna upload.14:41
tgardnerogasawara, ack. I was gonna ask you when you planned to upload, but as usual you're right on top of things.14:42
pgranertgardner, are you set to run the daily kernel roundtables at UDS since I'll be off with QA?14:44
tgardnerpgraner, guess I'll get that way.14:44
pgranertgardner, :)14:45
tgardnerpgraner, I may delegate once or twice since there are a couple of conflicting sessions, or at least there were a couple of days ago.14:45
pgranertgardner, ack14:46
JFoogasawara, sorry, I am still not getting ping notifications14:46
JFoogasawara, switching that is cool with me :-)14:47
JFoI didn't even think of that existing14:47
sconklinogasawara: there's the kernel-sru-workflow team, that's used for maintenance of the process tools, not sure that's what you want. 14:53
ogasawarasconklin: basically JFo has a work item on his bug handling spec that I think he wanted assigned to the kernel-sru team.  I've temporarily assigned it to bjf for now and I'll let him reassign accordingly14:54
JFoand for that matter, it may not even be necessary.14:55
sconklinogasawara: ack14:55
JFowe can discuss at UDS 14:55
* ogasawara back in 2015:09
=== JanC_ is now known as JanC
ogasawaratgardner: you said you pushed the -rc6 rebase to oneiric master-next right?16:00
* smb has been using it for a test16:01
ogasawarasomething doesn't seem right with it, for example the Makefile still claims it's -rc5 and I'm specifically looking for the changes in commit 498548ec69c6897fe4376b2ca90758762fa0b817 which should be in -rc6 and I'm not seeing it in master-next16:02
smbogasawara, odd indeed, yeah. I was more interested in another one which was in there and also was supposed to me rc6 stuff16:04
smbSo I did not check that closely16:05
hertonogasawara: may be related to this? https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/5/4/42 (tim may have pushed before linus fixed it)16:09
smbogasawara, It looks like about 14 commits missing16:09
ogasawaraherton: ah that's probably it16:11
smbsounds very possible16:11
* ogasawara rebases master-next to pull in the missing bits16:14
tgardnerogasawara, doh! I didn't even check that I got the -rc6 tag. oops.16:19
=== arun__ is now known as arun_
ogasawaratgardner: no worries, I've just rebased, was painless16:19
tgardnerogasawara, you haven't pushed yet, right ?16:20
ogasawaratgardner: not yet, about to in 1min16:20
tgardnerogack16:20
tgardnerogasawara, ack16:20
hertonbjf, sconklin: some nitpicking for you, bug 722185 can be marked as fixed after natty update to 2.6.38.5, needs natty nomination etc. on it as well16:28
ubot2Launchpad bug 722185 in linux "Regression: Does not list available WLAN networks (p54)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/72218516:28
bjfherton, thanks16:30
hertonalso bug 736490 is a duplicate of this16:30
ubot2Launchpad bug 736490 in linux "[natty][p54usb] wifi cannot connect to the ap" [Medium,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/73649016:30
hertonJFo: I think you could mark it as duplicate and triage 722185 to show on your hotlist right?16:30
hertonI didn't mark as duplicate yet as I guess it'll drop from hotlist bugs, not sure16:31
JFoyep, I can do that herton :)16:31
bjfJFo, herton done16:31
JFobjf, thanks16:31
hertonthanks :)16:31
jbarnesapw: did you ever submit your fbcon race fix upstream?16:54
jbarneswould be cool to get it fixed for 2.6.3916:54
tgardnerjbarnes, I've bugged him a couple of times about that, and some other patches. He's kind of tied up for the rest of this week, but I'll be sure to hassle him on Monday.16:55
jbarnescool, thanks16:55
smbjbarnes, The real (non-bip) apw may or may not be listening. Me will try to if tgardner forgets16:55
jbarnesit's a good fix, much  more complete than mine16:56
tgardnerjbarnes, yeah, it seems to be working well for us.16:56
smbtgardner, Are you arriving Sat or Sun ?16:58
tgardnersmb, I should be at the hotel by noon Sat16:58
smbtgardner, Ah cool, I should be there a tad later. Landing around noon on Sat16:59
JFoI'll be there about 6:30PM on Sat17:00

JFobbiab19:25
introiboad_hi there, runnin linux-next (2.6.39-rc) on Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04 using the stock ubuntu .config (updated with oldconfig) and the kernel boots fine but it looks like every time I invoke dmesg the system slows down to a crawl. Any ideas? much appreciated!19:36
