I don't have it [11:57] bassem_lap , no probs .. I'll ask Toki .. [14:05] * nlsthzn waves [16:07] Hadenx: Ping. [16:09] * nlsthzn wavesw [16:09] *waves [16:44] nlsthzn, Toki, Hello.. [16:45] Evening. foo bars. [16:46] alo, Hadenx ... Toki ... [16:46] nlsthzn, Toki, did you guys notice the new google search ;ayout? [16:47] Nnn? I see no difference? [16:47] haven't looked yet [16:47] I cannot see the cached page option.. [16:48] I don't see anything different [16:48] Is that the same with all searches? [16:49] Toki , nlsthzn Yes.. Do you guys see the option for cached pages? [16:50] I do. [16:51] http://mashable.com/2011/05/06/google-redesigned-search/ [16:52] http://www.google.com/+1/button/ [16:55] More like buttons eh [16:56] nlsthzn, google has been working on this for a really long time.. [16:56] Going to be easier to let google and facebook just plug into our brains and suck out everything in there and get it over with [16:56] nlsthzn, Toki... My cached results are gone!!! [16:56] nlsthzn, Soon.. Very soon.. [16:57] Dunno about cached results, I only used Google for searching, so... [16:57] me too... [16:57] Toki, I used to use cached results to get results from experts exchange.. [16:57] Also some forums without having to logi or signup [16:59] well... your log in info has nothing to do with cache... [16:59] your browser stores that info... [17:00] so I guess it is your browers cache in a sence [17:00] *sense [17:00] nlsthzn, I talking about google's cache.. [17:01] no, that can't keep log in info... AFAIK... would be uber bad security [17:01] http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1751972 [17:01] did you clean your recent history on your browser recently [17:01] Not related to Google. [17:02] nlsthzn, For some reason, google used to cache results available only to paid members.. [17:02] paid members? [17:02] nlsthzn, So if I accessed the cached version of the page from google.. I could view these results.. [17:02] Toki: your link... you want the bar at the left to give a preview of the open application? [17:03] nlsthzn, http://www.ghacks.net/2006/07/11/free-answers-from-experts-exchangecom/ [17:03] nlsthzn: No, I'm asking how do you think it should appear if the launcher was window-centric. That thing about preview was an example. [17:04] Hadenx: ah... sneaky [17:04] Hadenx: pay and you don't need to do this ;) [17:04] Toki: I don't think about it... [17:05] nlsthzn: Well, then I ask you to think about now. :) [17:06] nlsthzn, Experts-exchange was crappy anyway.. Thanks god for stackexchnage [17:06] eish... in my current physical condition that is not a good idea... besides... the whole preview thing has been done... more productive if you have some options to use rather than just seeing what you will see eventually :) [17:08] Toki, I use avant window navigator.. I love it.. :) [17:09] Hadenx: Who cares about docks, it's launchers we want! "P [17:09] P [17:10] Toki: well, I answered... gave my two cents worth :) [17:11] Toki, AWN can use dockbarx for launching.. [17:12] Huh, what? A dock use another dock? [17:13] Toki, dock using a launcher.. Dockbarx is a launcher/dock [17:14] I am sure the launcher will still change a lot before 11.10.... and even then some more... 12.04 will be the one to really watch [17:15] nlsthzn: Nice avatar. [17:15] :p [17:15] nlsthzn, I'm sure the other launchers will catch on with better features.. [17:15] Guess who is back using Natty [17:16] Geelin' Natty? [17:16] *Feelin' [17:16] who me? ;p [17:16] :p [17:16] Hadenx: maybe... maybe not ;) [17:17] Toki, awn with dockbarx launchers on the left http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7217903/Screenshot.png [17:19] So my laptop is down in the dumps, and something happened to my Pentium IV desktop that I don't understand. [17:19] ON the DT, I tried installing Natty, both Xubuntu and Ubuntu got stuck at the end for some reason. [17:20] On the last attempt a black screen with monspace fonts appeared, and a weird repeating noise from the computer. [17:20] I installed Natty on my friends laptop.. it's a core duo with a gig of RAM.. runs really slow.. [17:20] Since then it ain't booting, stuck at the Intel motherboard's splash screen or the settings loading screen if I press BIOS setting key. [17:20] Hadenx: Ouch. [17:21] Hadenx: Unity? [17:21] Toki, Unity as well as gnome... [17:21] btw who is Guest35243 ? [17:21] Hadenx: Tried reinstalling? [17:22] Toki, Not sure reinstalling will help.. It; freezes for a couple of seconds when I open multiple windows.. [17:23] Sorry to hear about your issues :/ [17:24] nlsthzn, It's my friends laptop.. had xp on it.. tons of viruses.. 15 minutes too boot .. [17:24] nlsthzn, Toki, I'm ordering some stuff from canonical store.. you guys want anything? [17:25] Hadenx: still, it should be plenty fast enough... hmmm... I was also thinking about getting a few things from there... [17:25] I'd like a computer, but Canonical doesn't sell em. ;) [17:27] :) [17:27] Toki, http://www.webupd8.org/2011/05/25-usb-stick-pc-running-ubuntu.html [17:28] lol... [17:28] Hadenx: Read about it, it's ARM, I won't get much packages on it. [17:28] still got to see it work [17:30] Toki, I'm sure stilll amazing looking at the size of that thing.. [17:30] And it won't be that difficult compiling the packages for ARM [17:31] Hadenx: Who would spend hours compiling on that thing?! [17:31] Toki, It's pretty powerful.. don't underestimate.. [17:32] Meh, I want a computer... [17:32] http://shop.canonical.com/product_info.php?products_id=774 [17:32] this is what i'll get.. [17:32] Sorry for my crappy responses, but I don't enjoy Windows and on someone else [17:32] 's system. [17:33] Hadenx: That's the most functional thing out of the whole shop. [17:33] Good choice. [17:34] I like the other bag more [17:34] Toki, rest of the stuff is pretty good too.. [17:34] just a bit expensive :/ [17:35] Hadenx: I am speaking in terms of usefulness. [17:35] if memory serves bassem also said something about getting stuff from the store [17:35] nlsthzn: What do you expect of "branded" products? :/ [17:36] Toki: still [17:38] Guys, can I borrow 1.5k from one of you? *shies* [17:38] could always get a pack of 100 11.04 CD's :) [17:39] Toki, 1.5 k for? [17:39] Hadenx: New laptop. :) [17:40] Did you give your laptop for repair? [17:41] Hadenx: Nope, just found out about the number for service center today, and while I called at four, it says they're only available from 9 to 6. [17:41] Go figure. [17:41] What happened to your lappy? [17:41] nlsthzn: Water. [17:42] ah, that sucks [17:43] nlsthzn: No sunlight on top of that. If I do try and keep it outside, it'd be packed with sand in hours. [17:44] nlsthzn: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1748956 [17:46] Toki: I had seen the thread, but never opened it :/ [17:47] nlsthzn: Well, now you know what was that about... [17:47] I'm feeling $$$. [17:49] [frustration release mode - kinda] UGH, I WANT TO USE UBUNTU! [17:50] KUBUNTU/XUBUNTU/LUBUNTU Fedora openSUSE any freakin' GNU/Linux distro for that matter! [17:50] [/release mode] [17:50] boot with a live disc when no one is looking [17:51] See ya in a bit, gotta buy milk, my eternal favorite food. [17:51] nlsthzn: Where? [17:51] My dad's PC? [17:51] Well, I can just change Windows to Ubuntu as fast as changing Windows. [17:51] *changing windows [17:51] *can't [17:51] And no changes saved, nothing done. [17:52] sure... just boot the live environment... don't install [17:52] TT_TT [17:53] By the way, if anyone's interested in package management for OS in HDD from live environment: http://askubuntu.com/questions/40453/package-management-of-installed-system-from-live-environment/40470#40470
