=== ximion1 is now known as ximion [01:20] good evening [01:21] i've just set up my first ppa [01:21] i'm testing it by adding it to my system but it doesn't work [01:21] i'm getting this error [01:21] $ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:hmrocha-fc/geforcego7400 [01:21] Error: can't find signing_key_fingerprint at https://launchpad.net/api/1.0/~hmrocha-fc/+archive/geforcego7400 [01:22] any help? [01:22] DJKorbit: you might want to try #launchpad [01:22] ok === med_out is now known as medberry [13:40] anyone seen this - Uploading dahdi-tools_2.4.1-1ubuntu1_source.changes: 3k/4k550 Changes file must be signed with a valid GPG signature: Verification failed 3 times: ["(7, 9, u'No public key')", "(7, 9, u'No public key')", "(7, 9, u'No public key')"] : Permission denied [13:40] when dputing [13:40] stefanlsd: yes, seen other "complain" about it in the past weeks [13:41] the LP FTP server checks the GPG signature upon upload, but sometimes the keyserver doesn't like to talk to the FTP server [13:41] if you uploaded with that key successfully in the past, check if your upload got accepted despite that error [13:41] geser: mm. dont think its my side. gpg --verify says good signature. oki. i'll try later [13:42] geser: aah yeah. just got he email. looks like it did go through [13:43] stefanlsd: the Ubuntu keyserver and the FTP server don't like to talk to each other sometimes so the FTP server doesn't get a key to verify the signature during upload [13:44] wgrant: ^^ is there a bug about it (failed signature check during dput) which I can point person asking about it to? === yofel_ is now known as yofel === Quintasan_ is now known as Quintasan === apachelogger is now known as udslogger [19:26] http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppas/47: "This repository is available for: Stable." What does »Stable« mean here? [19:30] bullgard4: 'stable' refers to the current debian release [19:30] bullgard4: currently the 'stable' release is also known as 'squeeze' [19:33] Ampelbein: Right. What is the conclusion for Ubuntu? [19:34] bullgard4: well, stable isn't used as a codename in ubuntu at all. [19:35] bullgard4: current "stable" releases of ubuntu are: 11.04, 10.10, 10.04, 8.04, 6.06 [19:36] Ampelbein: Well, the website's URL is "http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppas/47". So there must be a relation to Ubuntu, mustn't it. [19:37] Ampelbein: Didn't you just say that "Stable" here refers to Debian's Squeeze? [19:39] bullgard4, Ampelbein: for google's apt repositories, stable refers to the version of *google's* code, not ubuntu's [19:40] their software generally works irrespective of ubuntu version you're using (or debian) [19:40] e.g. for chrome, i know they have stable, beta, and unstable (or something like that) for the stable, beta, and dev channels [19:42] broder: I have used this PPA successfully with Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS. But the same PPA in Natty throws a warning and persistently annoys its Update Manager. [20:10] bullgard4: regarding the "it's on ubuntuupdates so there must be a relation" - not really. It's just another 3rd party site and in no way official. [20:10] broder: thanks, I didn't know that about google's naming policy. [20:13] broder: In Natty I followed the instructions given in http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppas/47 for installing the PPA google-talkplugin. It seems that now google-talkplugin no longer annoys Update manager. My personal explanation is that during the distant upgrade 10.10 to 11.04 alpha something went wrong and I only today fixed this by following the instructions in http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppas/47 [20:13] . -- Thank you for your help. [20:14] Ampelbein: broder convincingly explained that this is Google's terminology. [20:15] bullgard4: yes, I didn't know that. [20:16] Ampelbein: So thank you very much for your help and encouragement. === apachelogger is now known as udslogger
