=== Cracknel_ is now known as Guest35640 [15:35] buenas [15:35] alguien sabe como hacer para ver un archivo rmvb en kubuntu? [15:38] Lobotomo, use english [15:39] sorry, I thought this was ubuntu channel for my city [15:39] :) no problem [15:39] I can't see rmvb files neither with kaffeine nor with dragon player [15:39] what could I do? [15:40] rmvb is some kind of video/audio? [15:41] yes [15:41] i supose you could also try vlc/ mplayer [15:42] mplayer? smplayer? [15:42] smplayer is a frontend for mplayer [15:43] basicly is mplayer with some fancy gui [15:43] yes , perhaps, but I thought perhaps there was a way to fix the dragon player or kaffeine [15:43] :) I see [15:43] so, you would try mplayer [15:43] mplayer and vlc also [15:44] and vlc [15:44] one of them should be abple to play that video file [15:44] ok , thank you very much for your advise :) [15:44] I'll try [15:44] no problem [15:44] where are you from? [15:45] if you didn't notice you are on #ubuntu-ro [15:45] ro is from Romania :) [15:45] I thought ro was for rosario , my city :) [15:45] is it Romania? [15:45] :D I see thank you!!! [15:54] Lobotomo: dragon and kaffeine use xine-lib (dragon also goes through phonon+phonon-xine) as backend, so I think this is the one you should fix/upgrade (only, of course, if it does actually support that type of media file/format) [16:00] xine can also use ffmpeg libs to decode varrious files (xine-lib has to be compiled with ffmpeg, but I think that's a default option, by now), so, theoretically, mplayer, xine, kaffeine, vlc, and most linux players should be able to play the same types of files (if were compiled properly, and using libs from the same period of time) [16:06] FDCX: so you recomend me to try to look for an upgrade of xine-lib [16:06] ? [16:07] first, make sure you have/install libxine1-misc-plugins and libxine1-all-plugins [16:08] libxine1 plugins [16:08] ok [16:11] libxine1-all-plugins, that I don't have it installed [16:26] Lobotomo: what about libxine1-ffmpeg ? [16:27] I haven't check that one, but, I tried to install smplayer, and now I can see the rmvb file [16:34] Lobotomo: ok, then, to also be able to play it with kaffeine, probably, you need to install kubuntu-restricted-extras libxine1-ffmpeg and libxine1-all-plugins, or to upgrade ffmeg (as mplayer/smplayer shares codecs with ffmpeg) [16:34] hm? [16:35] kubuntu-restricted-extras libxine1-ffmpeg and libxine1-all-plugins [16:35] what is it exactly ffmeg? [16:39] ffmpeg (libavcodec) is a audio/video encoding/decoding library - many linux players use it [16:39] Lobotomo: http://ffmpeg.org/ [16:39] libxine1-ffmpeg was already installed [19:22] salut [19:51] salut
