[00:50] Rocket2DMn: what's up? [00:52] hey shaunm [00:52] i was looking at the html validation again [00:52] i wasnt able this weekend to get it to work via XSLT [00:52] i did write a quick sed command to insert it though [00:55] Rocket2DMn: just the DOCTYPE and the spurious language attribute on the script element? [00:55] or are there more problems? [00:56] this is just for adding the doctype, doesnt touch the rest of the document [00:56] here it is: [00:56] sed -i build/*.html -e '1i\ [00:56] \' [00:56] nice [00:57] i havent committed it to ubuntu-docs yet, but i think i will soon unless i see reason that it might cause problems [00:58] you dont see anything wrong or dangerous with that, do you? [01:09] hey guys [01:09] has the meeting day been decided yet? === JasonO_ is now known as JasonO === jjesse_ is now known as jjesse [05:48] hey jbicha [05:48] hi [05:48] how have you been? [05:50] life's chaotic, but otherwise ok [05:50] sorry to hear [05:50] anything project wise I can do to help? [05:52] well we're trying to plan what we'll be doing for this next release cycle [05:52] still learning the process, but if you need something done Im sure I can do it [05:52] so there's lots of things to work on [05:53] we need to make sure we get the right topics covered in the right amounts for the desktop guide [05:53] anywhere this is all written? we have a wiki? [05:54] our wiki needs updating so new contributors (or older ones who haven't messed with this mallard stuff) can [05:54] yeah [05:54] figure out what's going on and how to help out [05:54] I think I might write up that [05:54] do I have permissions to edit that? [05:54] yes, anyone can edit the wikis [05:55] got mixed up with the other one [05:55] we still need to keep the docbook stuff around as there are still docs using that [05:55] yeah [05:55] I could do two parts [05:56] New and Old [06:40] hey jbicha could I get a testimonial for being a guide on the Ubuntu Beginners team? [06:40] hmm? [06:40] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BeginnersTeam/Membership [06:40] need a few testimonials to apply [06:56] jbicha, ^ [06:57] if you could that'd be great, if not it's okay as well :) [07:00] yeah, I can write something for you, I'm just trying to read up on what the team does & how it works [07:01] we provide support for new members [07:01] like this one: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-beginners/2011-May/002027.html [07:02] well that guy isnt a new user heh [07:02] more like people who are new to the community and want to contribute [07:02] suggestion 2 is that the process for membership be overhauled [07:02] but are not sure where to start [07:03] yeah, Im not sure of the process [07:03] just following it for now [08:05] And I'm off again. See y'all soon (about 30 mins or so). Aloha! [08:07] aloha! [08:07] hello dpm [08:14] hey dpm [08:15] dpm: I can't change the template names I don't think. It will be a bit of a pain to get an admin to change the template name for each release. I wonder if we need to figure out a different solution to this [08:15] dpm: in the future, the template name will be "ubuntu-help", so perhaps that is descriptive enough that we won't need to add the prefix. So maybe the workaround only applies to past releases [08:16] hey mdke [08:16] hey :) [08:17] just seen your longer email [08:17] thanks for that explanation [08:17] no worries :) [08:17] mdke, if I'm not mistaken, the template name, once set in LP, will "stick" for all future series if the path of the pot template in the source code does not change [08:18] so it should be a one off effort [08:18] * mdke nods [08:18] hopefully it won't matter for future series anyway with the "ubuntu-help" template name [08:18] mdke, so there will be a single 'ubuntu-help' template? [08:19] yeah [08:19] a bit like the "gnome-help" template in gnome-user-docs [08:19] or rather, exactly like it [08:20] regarding the template names for the current docs, I can change them, so I'll look into it [08:20] many thanks [08:20] I guess we should remove the package link first? [08:21] I'll do that [08:21] ok [08:21] give me a few mins, I need to finish off an e-mail [08:22] ok, that's done for Natty and Maverick. I can't remove the package link for Lucid, so we'll have to ask a Launchpad admin to do it [08:24] bbiab [08:39] dpm: I've changed the translation domains back to remove the prefix for all the natty templates [08:48] dpm: I have to leave for work now but I'll be following email, thanks for your help again [08:48] ok, thanks mdke! [12:58] hi all [12:59] Hey j1mc [16:20] hello cody-somerville [16:21] Captainkrtek, Hi.
