| Matt_O | good morning all... I've noticed that on my beagleboard xM my MAC address changes with every boot which causes me to get a different IP address from my DHCP server every bootup.. I'm trying to set a static IP address using the gnome network manager but since I'm in 640x480/Tv-out mode I can't see the full dialog to save my changes.. lol.. does anyone know where I can edit the configuration for this from the shell? | 15:04 |
|---|---|---|
| Matt_O | I guess I could remove the gnome network manager and do things the old way | 15:06 |
| phh | /etc/network/interfaces: | 15:09 |
| phh | auto usb1 | 15:09 |
| phh | iface eth1 inet static | 15:09 |
| Matt_O | yep.. that's the old way I was talking about :) | 15:09 |
| phh | address 42.42.42.42 | 15:09 |
| phh | ah ok | 15:09 |
| phh | you meant NM's config ... | 15:09 |
| Matt_O | doing that now | 15:09 |
| phh | yeah just don't use NM :D | 15:09 |
| Matt_O | yeah I thought it would be nice to use nm... but I realize.. I really don't need it | 15:09 |
