atari_314 | Hey guys, anyone having issues with xterm (slowdowns, freezes) on 11.04? | 01:08 |
---|---|---|
Captainkrtek | atari_314, I'm not, what video card do you have? | 01:34 |
atari_314 | intel x3100 | 01:35 |
atari_314 | but everything else is fine | 01:35 |
atari_314 | something tells me this is a problem with 2.6.38-8 | 01:36 |
Captainkrtek | yeah maybe | 01:36 |
Captainkrtek | how often is it freezing | 01:36 |
atari_314 | every time I type on it | 01:37 |
atari_314 | I start typing a bit faster, it freezes, after a few it shows everything typed | 01:37 |
Captainkrtek | odd | 01:37 |
atari_314 | indeed, all other apps are perfectly fine | 01:38 |
Captainkrtek | if you could get a log of some sort that'd be useful | 01:38 |
atari_314 | I'm not sure where can I get a log from xterm | 01:39 |
Captainkrtek | same :/ | 01:41 |
atari_314 | off topic: current stable kernel is 2.6.38-9? | 01:43 |
Captainkrtek | umm | 01:47 |
Captainkrtek | Latest stable kernel is 2.6.38.6 | 01:48 |
atari_314 | :S | 01:48 |
atari_314 | using 2.6.38-8 from a fresh net-install here... | 01:48 |
Captainkrtek | http://kernel.org/ | 01:48 |
atari_314 | ty | 01:49 |

yofel | -8 is stable, -9 is in -proposed | 02:06 |
Captainkrtek | ahh sorry | 02:08 |
atari_314 | no luck at all... using kernel 2.6.39 and the same weird bug... | 02:27 |
atari_314 | uhn... if I type really really fast... it freezes, then, if I move the xterm window, it refreshes itself to the correct typed content | 02:29 |
atari_314 | any ideas? | 02:29 |
Captainkrtek | odd | 02:34 |
Captainkrtek | I have no idea | 02:34 |
Captainkrtek | sorry :/ | 02:34 |
atari_314 | I believe its related to X... cause while on tty1 all's fine | 02:37 |
atari_314 | but tks for the help anyway | 02:38 |

atari_314 | Hello, I have this issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/702090 which (looks like) have been fixed. I've tryed the proceadure sudo apt-add-repository ppa:apw/purple > sudo apt-get update > sudo apt-get upgrade but it failed to fetch (during the apt-get update) the "purple" sources. Any idea about what to do from here? Any other way to get those fixes? Tyvm. | 21:18 |
