dyllanhi guys. I made such a rookie error I accidentally deleted my /opt/ltsp/i386 directory I thought I was on a different server and was going to run the sudo ltsp-build-client --arch i386 command. Im so pissed off as this is a production environment im such an a-hole.13:39
dyllanWhat kinda problems am i going to run into. Should i rebuild it with: sudo ltsp-build-client --arch i38613:39
dyllan:(13:39
mgariepydyllan, do you still have the /opt/ltsp/image/i386.img ?13:44
mgariepyif so you could simply unsquashfs it13:45
dyllanhi mgariepy , yes i do13:45
dyllanoh brilliant, so just unsquash it into i386 directory and ill be all set?13:46

dlbasshello alkisg, I got the monitor issue fixed. The XFCE desktop is able to wrangle this old monitor and gpu combo.17:07
alkisgNice, though I don't remember the problem :)17:07
dlbasslol, I suppose last week is a long time ago. Do you even remember me?17:08
alkisgYeah, and if you say which problem it was I'll remember quickly17:08
alkisgIt's just difficult to map names to problems after so many problems :D17:09
dlbassCool, it was getting all funky resolutions and being zoomed in and other such madness. Dell GX110 with old CRT monitor17:09
dlbassThe computers have Intel 8 something another gpu and Gnome does not like it! Xubuntu 10.04.2 works wonderfully. Well as wonderful as a 256mb machine can.17:10
alkisgHmm, ok, although changing the DE shouldn't matter for the client screen resolution17:11
dlbassDE?17:11
dlbassooh17:11
alkisgDesktop environment, gnome vs xfce etc17:11
dlbassAh, I just assumed it had a different driver.17:12
alkisgThe drivers should be the same, from the same repository even17:12
alkisgNow compiz can make a difference (default in gnome, if the card supports it), but not with resolutions17:13
dlbassUbuntu 10.04.2 does not work properly with this particular Dell monitor on any machine at all. New-ish GX520 or old GX110.17:14
dlbassThe GX520 works great on LCD and newer CRT monitors.17:14
dlbassThe GX110 is picky about which monitors it will work properly on.17:14
dlbassDo you think it might be a bug?17:14
alkisgYeah, in the graphics driver17:23
dlbassStrange. Well, what I came in here today for is a wireless driver. I have a lab full of D-Link DWA-125 usb adapters. I tried a few guides on installing the driver from dlink using make and make install, but the adapter never powers on17:30
dlbassi can see it when I lsusb17:31
dlbassand after installing the driver it shows the possibility of connecting to a wireless network, but the adapter isnt on, so you cant17:31
jcbmHello everybody17:45
dlbassgreetings17:46
jcbmPlease have you worked with LTSP and usb devices17:47
dlbassjcbm, Have you already looked here? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP17:53
dlbassI have not had any experience with LTSP and usb devices, other than mouse and keyboard, but hopefully you will find something there.17:55
jcbmok dlbass, thanks by your interest17:55
