dhana013@ogra_12:32
ogra_geez, oneiric is shaky12:46
ppisaticool, using my own oneiric kernel i got usb back12:54
ppisaticonfig are the same12:54
ppisatiand kernel version is the same on both12:54
ppisatiuhmm....12:54
ogra_toolchain isnt probably12:54
ppisatiogra_: uh12:54
ppisatiogra_: but would be really nasty12:55
ogra_just a guess :)12:55
ppisatiogra_: yep, but it's a variable indeed12:55
ppisatiogra_: which toolchain do we use on the builder?12:57
ppisatii think i can guess it from the boot msg13:00
ppisatiogra_: and indeed the toolchain are different... oh sh*t...13:05
UtrinqueparatusHas anyone here any experience with installing Ubuntu on a portable tegra based device like the advent vega?14:08
ograha !14:33
* ogra has a stable oneiric session on the ac10014:33
lilstevie:o14:46
hrwogra_: ubuntu/r will give sound?14:58
ogra_hrw, ??15:04
hrwogra_: iirc you still lack sound on ac100 - right?15:06
ogra_yep15:06
* hrw jokes about ubuntu/r15:06
ogra_we have a working driver, but nobody understands the wiring15:06
ndec|home1ogra_: sounds issues are chasing you ;-)15:06
ogra_i'm pretty sure that will be fixed soon, with so many people getting ac100s suddenly15:07
ogra_ndec|home1, lol, yeah15:07
ogra_on the ac100 its easily worked around with a BT headset though15:07
hrwogra_: replaced screen with 720p one?15:07
ogra_not yet15:07
ogra_currently i use the second one to run oneiric on it :)15:08
ogra_and to test the installer15:08

UtrinqueparatusIs there anyway to do that without using the actual device?15:57
Utrinqueparatusi.e i have gnome and unity 2d installed but they are killing it so I want to try XFCE or similar?15:58

ppisatihttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/79155217:06
ubot2Ubuntu bug 791552 in linux "No USB support on beagle/beagleXM" [Undecided,New]17:06
ppisatiyes, in the end seems it was the toolchain17:06
GrueMasterppisati: Weird.17:09
GrueMasterGood hunting though.17:09
ppisatiGrueMaster: at least reverting to 4.5 fixes it17:09
ppisatiGrueMaster: actually ogra had the idea to check the toolchain :)17:10
ppisatiGrueMaster: we don't know yet if 4.5 was borked and proced a working code, and 4.6 broke it17:10
ppisatior the other way around17:10
GrueMasterIts odd that it broke omap but omap4 is ok.17:12
GrueMasterI would think they use close to the same code for USB.17:12
* ppisati shrugs17:12
ppisatireally dunno17:12
ppisatilet me try the linaro kernel17:13
ppisatiuh wait17:14
ppisatiomap4 is still using 2.6.3817:14
ppisatibecause we don't have a 2.6.39+omap4 branch17:14
ppisatiwhile for omap3 we are using 2.6.3917:14
ppisatiperhaps that's why we don't see the breakage there17:15
ppisatinatty kernel are ok, right?17:15
GrueMasterMight be an interesting test to take the natty omap kernel and rebuild it with oneiric toolchain.17:16
ppisatii'll do that17:16
GrueMasterYes, natty works fine.17:16
ppisatiok17:16
ppisatiso, i try natty with 4.617:16
ppisatithat's the new toolchain17:16
GrueMasteron the parport_pc issue, it never really affected lucid (although the potential was there).17:22
GrueMasterMaverick cups added a modprobe line to force the parport_pc module to load on start.  The simple solution was to not include that module in the armel kernels.17:23
GrueMasterThe proper fix would be to actually fix the driver to fail gracefully.17:23
dcordesogra_: with you being a member of the unity-2d team, may I ask you to have a quick look at https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-2d/+bug/791852 and decide wether or not it's valid? I fear it will drown in the noise17:23
ubot2Ubuntu bug 791852 in unity-2d "unity-2d: does not parse QT_GRAPHICSSYSTEM env var" [Undecided,New]17:23
ppisatioh17:47
ppisatigcc 4.6 and natty = same problem17:47
ppisation omap3 i mean17:49
GrueMasteroops.18:05
GrueMasterThat's not good.18:05
