=== prpplague^2 is now known as prpplague [05:35] morning [09:04] ogra_: do you have an imx51? or do you know who has one besides GrueMaster and ericm|ubuntu? [09:04] ogra_: i need an info about the parport module === ericm_ is now known as ericm|ubuntu [10:07] hmm, so oneiric is a big fail here [12:27] Hi [12:28] any one haveing ubuntu 10.04 rootfs [12:28] just use rootstock [12:28] (see topic) [12:32] thanks [12:32] @ogra_ [12:46] geez, oneiric is shaky [12:54] cool, using my own oneiric kernel i got usb back [12:54] config are the same [12:54] and kernel version is the same on both [12:54] uhmm.... [12:54] toolchain isnt probably [12:54] ogra_: uh [12:55] ogra_: but would be really nasty [12:55] just a guess :) [12:55] ogra_: yep, but it's a variable indeed [12:57] ogra_: which toolchain do we use on the builder? [13:00] i think i can guess it from the boot msg [13:05] ogra_: and indeed the toolchain are different... oh sh*t... [14:08] Has anyone here any experience with installing Ubuntu on a portable tegra based device like the advent vega? [14:33] ha ! [14:33] * ogra has a stable oneiric session on the ac100 [14:46] :o [14:58] ogra_: ubuntu/r will give sound? [15:04] hrw, ?? [15:06] ogra_: iirc you still lack sound on ac100 - right? [15:06] yep [15:06] * hrw jokes about ubuntu/r [15:06] we have a working driver, but nobody understands the wiring [15:06] ogra_: sounds issues are chasing you ;-) [15:07] i'm pretty sure that will be fixed soon, with so many people getting ac100s suddenly [15:07] ndec|home1, lol, yeah [15:07] on the ac100 its easily worked around with a BT headset though [15:07] ogra_: replaced screen with 720p one? [15:07] not yet [15:08] currently i use the second one to run oneiric on it :) [15:08] and to test the installer [15:08] one with natty and one to tests? [15:08] yep [15:09] like my pandas - one ubuntu, one linaro === prpplague is now known as prpplague^2 [15:57] I am trying to slim down an install I have running on vega [15:57] Is there anyway to do that without using the actual device? [15:58] i.e i have gnome and unity 2d installed but they are killing it so I want to try XFCE or similar? === davidm_ is now known as davidm [17:06] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/791552 [17:06] Ubuntu bug 791552 in linux "No USB support on beagle/beagleXM" [Undecided,New] [17:06] yes, in the end seems it was the toolchain [17:09] ppisati: Weird. [17:09] Good hunting though. [17:09] GrueMaster: at least reverting to 4.5 fixes it [17:10] GrueMaster: actually ogra had the idea to check the toolchain :) [17:10] GrueMaster: we don't know yet if 4.5 was borked and proced a working code, and 4.6 broke it [17:10] or the other way around [17:12] Its odd that it broke omap but omap4 is ok. [17:12] I would think they use close to the same code for USB. [17:12] * ppisati shrugs [17:12] really dunno [17:13] let me try the linaro kernel [17:14] uh wait [17:14] omap4 is still using 2.6.38 [17:14] because we don't have a 2.6.39+omap4 branch [17:14] while for omap3 we are using 2.6.39 [17:15] perhaps that's why we don't see the breakage there [17:15] natty kernel are ok, right? [17:16] Might be an interesting test to take the natty omap kernel and rebuild it with oneiric toolchain. [17:16] i'll do that [17:16] Yes, natty works fine. [17:16] ok [17:16] so, i try natty with 4.6 [17:16] that's the new toolchain [17:22] on the parport_pc issue, it never really affected lucid (although the potential was there). [17:23] Maverick cups added a modprobe line to force the parport_pc module to load on start. The simple solution was to not include that module in the armel kernels. [17:23] The proper fix would be to actually fix the driver to fail gracefully. [17:23] ogra_: with you being a member of the unity-2d team, may I ask you to have a quick look at https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-2d/+bug/791852 and decide wether or not it's valid? I fear it will drown in the noise [17:23] Ubuntu bug 791852 in unity-2d "unity-2d: does not parse QT_GRAPHICSSYSTEM env var" [Undecided,New] [17:47] oh [17:47] gcc 4.6 and natty = same problem [17:49] on omap3 i mean [18:05] oops. [18:05] That's not good. === lilstevie is now known as lilstevie|ZNC === randalogger is now known as info === info is now known as infologger
