aromanHi, how can I remove projects from a metaproject I own? Or better yet, force those projects to be manually approved by me.00:53
aromanoh, by metaproject I mean project group.00:58
aromananyone?01:25

aviksilhow can i upload a file in a project registered in launchpad? i could not see any "Add download file" link in the project i registered: https://launchpad.net/smartt09:15
RAOFaviksil: You first need to register a release, then you can upload files for the release.09:15
aviksilRAOF: in "series and milestone"?09:16
RAOFFrom https://launchpad.net/smartt/trunk you should be able to register a release (from memory).09:17
ftahttps://launchpad.net/~chromium-daily/+archive/ppa/+build/254869809:17
ftawhy is rutherfordium always so slow?09:18
aviksilRAOF: thanks!09:23

dpmhi henninge, last week deryck helped me change the export schedule of translation tarballs, but I'm not sure if the change was actually done. Would you be able to confirm that the cron job for exports has been updated?09:37
dpm(or anyone else)09:44
henningedpm: I can have a look. Can you10:03
henningeplease remind me of the wiki page that lists the schedule?10:03
jfiHello, the package sync from debian is not automatic except for the first version? or it takes more than 2 weeks?10:06
wgrantjfi: The Debian->Ubuntu autosync?10:07
jfiwgran: yes, I have a package not synced since the 22may10:07
wgrantjfi: You probably want to talk to #ubuntu-devel.10:07
jfiwgrant: ok10:08
henningedpm: does not look like it.10:08
maxbwgrant: Did you know that the bogus linux_2.6.24.orig.tar.gz was actually linked to two publications? :-)10:15
wgrantmaxb: :(10:28
wgrantmaxb: Which was the other one?10:28
wgrantI guess I should check on DF.10:29
wgrantHmmm.10:29
maxbwgrant: 2.6.24-28.8310:29
wgrantOh, yeah, that one.10:30
wgrantThat was just a few months ago, right?10:30
wgrantThat broke the primary archive, so we purged the old one more thoroughly.10:30
wgrantAnd hoped that nobody retained possession of the old one.10:30
maxbretained posession?10:31
wgrantWell, the security and kernel teams managed to reupload it a couple of times.10:31
wgrantNo matter how much we deleted it from LP.10:31
maxbAh10:31
wgrantSo hopefully they've lost all their copies.10:31
dpmhenninge, sorry for the delay in replying, I was on a call. Here's the link to the schedule page. The path to the crontab is also specified on that page. I think deryck had started already doing or requesting the change. Do you think it would be possible to track down what's been done and see if we can get it moving?10:32
wgrantAlthough the original bug is fixed.10:32
maxbThe issue would never have arisen if they hadn't decided it was a good ideal to upload linux-2.6.24.2.tar.gz as linux_2.6.24.orig.tar.gz :-/10:32
wgrantmaxb: Indeed.10:32
wgrantmaxb: And then somehow managed to do it again.10:33
maxbWell, actually, the "good" version is 2.6.24.2 - the "bad" one is actually 2.6.24 like its version claims10:33
wgrantmaxb: So, last time we tracked down the uploader, got him to delete his copy, and then deleted all visible Launchpad copies, so hopefully it's gone except for the copy I linked spiv to last week but I guess you have it now so who knows who else does oh dear we are going to die.10:33
maxbheh :-)10:34
henningedpm: Yes, the process has been initiated. I just asked the admin to take care of it asap.10:35
dpmgreat, thanks henninge. Could you please ping me when it's been done, or alternatively, could you tell me where I can track the progress myself?10:35
henningedpm: I subscribed you to the branch.10:38
dpmhenninge, cool, thanks10:39
henningedpm: It will be marked as "Merged" when it is done.10:39
DavieyDoes launchpad lists not allow non-subsciber (team member) posting?10:45
maxbDaviey: I believe such posts go to the list moderation queue11:05
wgrantThe first time, at least.11:07
DavieyInteresting, for a package the Maintainer filed was set to an LP list email address.  People were saying the mail went to /dev/null.11:27
Daviey(ie, unsuitable for a Maintainer field)11:28

osallouHi, i am uploading a package to my ppa using dput (first time for me), using ubuntu 9.10, but it remains stuck on ".changes" file upload (dsc, orig, deb are shown as "done"). File is 3k only, and I tried several times... any idea of what could be wrong?12:25
bigjoolsosallou: it's a known bug using FTP, probably down to some routers not NATing properly.  You can use sftp instead and it will work12:26
osallouwill try, thanks12:26
Davieymaxb: thanks12:27
maxbosallou: Also, 9.10 reached End Of Life some time ago. It's time to think about upgrading :-)12:28
Cube``hey guys, why don't we have a mobile site?12:37
Davieymaxb: Is it possible to allow from all?12:48
DavieyApparently it conflicts with Debian policy to have an address which is anything but open.12:48
maxbThat's.. dumb12:50
maxbThere's this thing called spam12:50
sorenI think filtering spam is allowed.12:50
maxbI don't think this is customizable for launchpad lists, sorry12:50
sorenDaviey: I guess we could ask Luca..12:51
sorenDone. (in /msg)12:56
Davieymaxb / soren: thanks13:13
Davieymaxb: Yes, i know pkg-voip list is almost unusable due to spam.13:14

paultagHey Launchpaders. Has anyone worked out Java bindings to Launchpad yet? I really don't want to write it all out :)19:43

MezHow would I get a local version of LP (after iniail rocketfuel setup) work on external interface?  just change the apache config?21:49
paissadhello all, i have packaged a free  & open-source program, .. but the "problem" is that that project contains/uses an external lib which is free but not open-source ... please, is there a way/chance to upload the package in PPA anyway ?21:59
paissadthe project is licensed under GPLv2 .. the closed module which is include into the project is tsMuxeR22:00
paissadthanks in advance22:00
bacpaissad: no, i'm sorry you cannot package the proprietary code in a PPA.22:01

bacpaissad: I assumed you were speaking of free hosting on Launchpad.22:02
paissadbac, indeed22:02
bacpaissad: you can host a proprietary project on Launchpad which will give you a private PPA..22:03
bacpaissad: but in order to do that you must buy a commercial subscription, as explained in that question you posted.22:03
paissadok, i see22:03
paissadthanks for the explanation22:03
bacEven then, I don't think you'd be allowed to upload another proprietary library which you are not the IP owner.22:04

lifelessso, have a look at lib/lp/bugs/model/bugtask.py line 247823:48
lifelessthats the entry point for bug searches in the very core23:48
lifelesssomewhere in this file (ugh, sorry!) there is code to generate structural subscription constraints23:48
lifelessthat code needs to change from the current approach to one where each of the sorts of links is a separate table alias as my query in comment 11 shows23:49

lifelessyes, that looks right23:55
