[00:00] gnome shell on ubuntu 11.10 is working fairly well [00:01] wrst: uh, this project is one matter where it's probally worth it [00:01] good [00:03] just still working out some networking puzzles for the carputer type design (I'm still aiming for portable, more lanparty than truck mounted) [00:03] and some related problems towards this and swissknife-router [00:05] oh ok cool then :) [00:05] * wrst heads out for a while === vychune_ is now known as vychune [01:59] o/ [02:02] * cyberanger just had a fairly big dinner wonders if this is what vista feels like [02:33] Good one ;) [02:34] Good Three (Sandwhiches that is) ;-) [02:34] What type? [02:50] club [02:58] chris4585: you areound? [03:05] wrst: don't think so, but he might be around ;-) [03:26] wrst, yo [03:26] hope I didn't miss him [03:36] hey chris4585 got the answer looking for how to delete wireless networks with network manager in gnome shell [03:36] * cyberanger hands chris4585 another clip just in case he did miss him [03:37] oh, uh hi wrst [03:37] cyberanger: i'm a slow target don't make it easy on him! [03:45] ah [03:45] lol [03:46] well off to bed see you guys tomorrow! [03:46] later wrst [04:28] anybody have any suggestions on how to stream music from your home server to your phone 'elegantly'? [04:29] i'm thinking subsonic so far [04:42] sweet, looks like nautilus has some sort of support for the unity framework [04:44] strange, I'm not too familiar with .desktop files but looks like the bit I needed is commented and still works?! [04:49] electricus: sorta working on something a bit better myself [04:49] but ampache or icecast feel like the only realistic two [04:49] can either of those stream video too? [04:50] icecast can, but do keep in mind, these were'n't meant for smartphones originally [04:51] ampache might, dunno one way or another [04:51] thanks cyberanger [04:51] well..i'm off to bed [05:09] People go to bed early... [13:36] morning [13:45] morning vychune [13:45] twayneprice: how is the irccloud working ? [13:45] wrst: So far I really like it. [13:46] cool [13:46] so far so good on my internet I think they are going to make it a day without me calling them [13:47] I'm sure they are glad of that. :) [13:53] o/ [14:23] yeah I think they maybe were growing tired of the sweet sound of my voice! [14:49] Hey do you guys know about an SMF Channel? [14:51] oh yes, Morning [14:51] wrst morning [14:57] morning Xpistos [15:59] Xpistos: not offhand [15:59] but all my tv channels start with http:// [16:00] so perhaps that's why [17:54] hey guys [17:57] hey pace_t_zulu [17:58] cyberanger: how's it going ... sorry i haven't got back to you yet about the ec2 deployment ... let me know when you want to look at that [17:59] fairly well, just waiting for an appt here [18:12] is it possible to get enlightenment installed on natty? [18:13] Xpistos: I would think so :) [18:14] depends on how much you want to work I'm sure :P [18:17] I like enlgihtment and I have not used it for about 2 years [18:17] and I want to go back [18:20] wrst: did you try out irccloud? [18:20] no I haven't yet twayneprice had a lot going on at work and not had a chance sounds pretty good [18:21] I just wonder what it will cost ? [18:21] me too. I just noticed that I have invites to give out and I wasn't sure if you had to have an invite to try it out. [18:48] Xpistos: Bodhi is E based on Ubuntu 10.04... [18:49] wrst, whats good homeslice? [18:50] twayneprice: I don't but wouldn't care to give it a look [18:50] chris4585: its friday ;) [18:51] indeed it is [18:51] I got it working [18:52] http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1768427 [18:53] twayneprice: thank you will give that a go this weekend [18:53] wrst: no problem [18:53] that's a really really cool idea [18:54] I had to fight apt-get to get dockbarx installed the other day... wasn't fun, but very simple solution, I had to force it [18:56] who can you auto hidden the dock at the bottom? [18:56] wrong window [19:09] God, I fogot how much I love enlightenment [19:21] Xpistos: well, enlighten us as to why [19:22] basically when i isntall gnome I get rid of all my panels [19:22] and have a dock [19:22] done already [19:22] the config files are easy to edit [19:22] Xpistos: you don't care for unitye either? [19:22] and there are a good amount of themes that are really nice at e17-stuff.org [19:23] just too simple then, I presume? [19:23] LOL [19:23] I like a clean desktop [19:23] my clutter is in my data folder [19:23] Xpistos: i do also that's one thing i have been liking about gnome 3 [19:23] wrst: you said unity! [19:23] wrst: shell? [19:23] yes Xpistos [19:24] I just had all kinds of problems with shell [19:24] Xpistos: when did you try gnome shell and did you try it on ubuntu? [19:24] both were about four months ago the last time [19:25] oh no wonder [19:25] gnome 3 on ubuntu stinks and that was a hack job ppa at that ;) [19:25] look at it on fedora 15 [19:25] or the alpha of 11.10, its ok but still a little to be desired the vanilla version is very good [19:25] with just a little tweaking [19:27] I actually was dl fedora15 yesterday to give it a lookie see [19:28] i really like gnome shell, and its very clean but Xpistos if you use it you will want to install gnome-tweak-tool [19:28] lets you adjust some power options add all the buttons to the windows [19:40] so is e17 a different version of x or not? [19:48] Xpistos, e17 is just a desktop environment like gnome or KDE [19:48] actually e17 is much closer to gnome-shell [19:48] 10-4 [19:48] I had to get gnome-tweak-tool from git [19:49] wrst, one thing that gnome-shell seems to be missing in 11.10 is the thing where the windows go half screen [19:49] I don't know how to get that working [19:50] chris4585: its still a ways I think from being very good in ubuntu, but its just alpha 1 [19:50] yes, I can definitely see that but I've had fun using it, I prefer it over any other desktop right now and what better to have it on than ubuntu [21:17] chris4585: arch, fedora 15, etc etc ;)
