RussHello, I'm new to linux and I'm trying to use qjackctl and ardour to record music. My computer is a fairly nice build(amd phenom II 955 x4 with 8gigs mem, asus mb). I'm using the on board audio w/ my computer speakers. I use a light snake xlr to usb cable to record guitar/vocals. The problem I'm having is getting x-runs about every 20 sec. Clicks and pops and sometime it doesn't show the x-runs but I still get clicks and pops. As13:30

orngjce223Sorry 'bout that17:02
dubphilI hope it is alsa or the kernel17:02
orngjce223It's probably ALSA's fault, most likelyu17:04
orngjce223But again, I know very little17:04
holsteindubphil: i usually suggest looking at AVlinux and/or gnuguitarinix17:14
holsteinAV uses the liquorix kernel, and gnuguitar has its own custom kernel17:14
holsteinand both are live distros, so you dont have to install them to see17:15
dubphilhi holstein yeah good idea I will test this17:15
