d_edapachelogger: gah, posted but I'm stuck in teh moderation approval queue00:05
d_edI even signed up to the ML just before-hand.00:06
apacheloggeryeah, you need to be whitelisted for core-devel which usually happens after some sane mails00:07
apacheloggerd_ed: you could poke dfaure, though he probably is in bed already00:07
d_edno rush.00:07
nemoI'm moderately confused by https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/21799701:55
ubottuUbuntu bug 217997 in Nautilus "Incorrect icons displayed for mimetypes installed in hicolor theme only" [Critical,Fix released]01:55
nemois it supposedly fixed?01:55
nemo'cause I just retested in Natty and I'm still getting that behaviour01:55
nemohttp://hedgewars.googlecode.com/hg/share/hedgewars/Data/misc/hedgewars-mimeinfo.xml01:56
nemobasically, if I specify a generic-icon it overrides icon01:56
nemoleading to less usefully identified files01:56
nemoI'd retested to see if I could uncomment generic icon, but it seems it is still an issue01:56
nemothe other possibility is I misunderstood the bug01:56

tkamppetergeser, I have found a bug in the CUPS USB backend yesterday which I introduced when fixing a potential segfault. I have fixed it in 1.4.6-9 and pitti has uploaded this version around 3 hours ago. So update and your printer should work with the old URI.08:39

montplease sync it as written in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/imagemagick/+bug/79759510:40
ubottuUbuntu bug 797595 in imagemagick (Ubuntu) "Imagemagick 8:6.6.0.4-3 debian testing" [Undecided,New]10:40

cjwatsonand please don't make your bugs sound like a threat!10:44

montexpect breakage10:48
montdo you have a release team for so bump transition on unbuntu side ?10:48
Davieycjwatson: When you suggested Applied-Upstream addition for dep3, were your thoughts that it could be used multiple times if you are folding a few commits into a single patch?10:49
cjwatsonDaviey: for me it was really just a "you can drop this patch at the next merge" thing10:50
cjwatsonmont: yes.  is this http://release.debian.org/transitions/html/imagemagick4.html ?10:51

Daviey(ta)10:53
montsee  http://release.debian.org/transitions/html/imagemagick4.html10:54
cjwatsonI already pointed to that URL, just above10:54
cjwatsonso you might reasonably conclude that I've seen it10:54
montthe problem is depend on libmagick9-dev10:54
cjwatsonit doesn't provide any explanatin10:54
cjwatson*explanation10:54
montprevious version provide:  libmagick9-dev (old stable)10:55
montand we broke this10:55
cjwatsonso I'd hope that in general we can deal with this by syncing packages from that transition list from Debian (which should already have happened automatically, unless there are Ubuntu modifications), or by doing rebuild-only uploads in the case where we'd already synced them and they'd managed to build10:58
cjwatsonall I'm asking is whether it amounts to more than that10:58
sorencjwatson: Yeah, it seems fine now. *shrug*11:01
cjwatsonmont: it's unfortunate that we had 6.6.2.6 in natty, but there you go11:03

cjwatsonthanks for the note14:26
cjwatson(I can only do this for strings that aren't in Debian at all)14:27
mr_pouitcjwatson: hey, do we have to do something on our end for the new live cd build system? Because current xubuntu dailies don't contain any xfce package apparently ;-)14:28
cjwatsonmr_pouit: you shouldn't have to do anything particular14:29
cjwatsonthat is odd, I think perhaps it's failing to look at universe or something14:29
cjwatsonI'm doing rather too many things at once right now, but I'll clear a couple off and then have a look, thanks14:30
mr_pouitokay, thanks!14:30
ftadoko_, well, can't find it in the NEWS file. I've spent a lot of time tracking a regression in chromium on oneiric where all versions had the html5 <video> tag broken. it happened to be a linker issue, where the position of a -lfoo led to that lib beeing silently ignored in the resulting shared lib14:31
cjwatsonfta:14:31
cjwatsonhttp://wiki.debian.org/ToolChain/DSOLinking14:31
cjwatsonalso https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyNarwhal/ToolchainTransition14:32
cjwatsonit was done for a large part of the natty cycle - it was just switched back temporarily for the natty release, and then turned on again for oneiric14:32
ftacjwatson, thanks, now i can properly document it, and try to convince upstream to follow14:33
cjwatson(it sounds like --as-needed to me, at least)14:33
ftacjwatson, it's just weird that it says it's now following gold which was not impacted - but has its own problems making it unusable for chromium14:34
cjwatsongold did --no-add-needed (aka --no-copy-dt-needed-entries), but not --as-needed14:35
doko_fta: --as-needed was announced as a change for natty, but then reverted for the final release.14:36
Davieydoko_: Is the same likely to happen near oneiric release?14:37
