aj00200Hello. I previously registered for launchpad with my email aj0020020@live.com thus making my launchpad id aj0020020. My online alias has always been aj00200 and I now have the email aj00200@aj00200.org registered to my account. Is there a way to change my id?03:16
aj00200mm, I think I'm going to leave for tonight. Goodnight everyone,03:26

CarlFKthere is a change ID thing somewhere - it isn't easy to find... leme dig03:28
CarlFKer.. dinner time.. sorry.  im off for a while03:29
CarlFKaj00200: im back... still need help changing your id?04:59
thomisource recipe builds seem to be backed up a long way - 18+ hours. Something going on?05:19
wgrantthomi: Most of the builders are busy testing Ubuntu updates, so there will be a backlog for the next couple of days. I've reassigned some of the amd64 builders to i386 to hopefully shorten the i386 queue a bit, as that's where architecture-independent builds (like recipes) happen.05:22
thomiwgrant: cool - out of curiosity - why the rush of updates right now?05:22
wgrantthomi: Most of the PPA builders are primarily hardware testing machines, so they're taken back for a while whenever a new kernel needs testing.05:23
thomiok, cheers05:24

fontanonHi everybody.22:59
fontanonDoes launchpad ppa handle applying quilt patches building debian packages ?23:00
tumbleweedfontanon: yes. With source format 3.0 (quilt), that's done by dpkg-source. With other source formats, it's probably done explicitly in debian/rules23:13
fontanontumbleweed: nice! I'm using format 3.0 (quilt)23:15
fontanontumbleweed: the point it's .. I don't know why the patched hadn't been applied on my last build23:15
fontanontumbleweed: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/73739573/buildlog_ubuntu-maverick-amd64.datapkg_0.8-1~ppa1~maverick1_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz23:17
tumbleweedfontanon: "dpkg-source: info: applying SkipInstallRequires.diff" looks like it applied it23:20
fontanon tumbleweed: dumb of me !23:21
tumbleweedfontanon: try deleting the contents of egg-info too23:23
fontanontumbleweed: as you can see .. the build fails because setup.py files marks a dependency for downloading. The quilt patch was for removes this dependency.23:26
fontanontumbleweed: do you thing the egg-info is responsible for the building error ?23:26
tumbleweedyes, look at the requires.txt inside it23:27
fontanontumbleweed: hmm you're right .. I didn't realize ...23:28
tumbleweedegg-info is generated by setuptools (setup.py). So it's safe (and sensible) to delete it in clean23:29
fontanontumbleweed: I'm afraid I must upload the fixed package again with dput, musn't I?23:29
tumbleweedyes23:29
fontanontumbleweed: the i386 building is pending, what's the safer way to cancel the building and upload it again?23:30
tumbleweedyou can't let it fail, or be superceeded by the new upload. Btw, datapkg isn't a particularly unique sounding package name.23:31
tumbleweed"can't, let it fail"23:31
fontanonOk, so the best is wating it for failing, then upload, isn't it?23:33
tumbleweedjust upload straight away. If the build hasn't started yet, only the new one will be built23:33
fontanonOh! ok, i didn't catch it up!.23:33
fontanontumbleweed: thank you for your help.23:34
tumbleweednp. BTW #ubuntu-packaging is probably a better place for future packaging issues23:35
fontanonGood advice, I just thought it was an issue of launchpad dealing with quilt23:36
