Kamping_Kaiser(i asked this yesterday too, so sorry for the repeat). how can i get an upstrema bugtracker updated in LP? freeciv has moved from rt.freeciv.org to gna.org (/?project=freeciv)05:52
wgrantKamping_Kaiser: You'll need to contact the project owner. They can change it to gna.org at <https://bugs.launchpad.net/freeciv/+configure-bugtracker>. That bugtracker is already registered at <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/bugtrackers/gna.org>, so it should just be a matter of selecting it on that page.05:59
wgrantKamping_Kaiser: However, it doesn't *really* matter.06:00
wgrantKamping_Kaiser: You can still add bugwatches to gna.org without it being changed officially.06:00
Kamping_Kaiserwgrant: ok. i'm not sure who the owner is, so i'll have to go and check.06:01
Kamping_Kaiserwgrant: noted that its not too important - thanks :)06:01
wgrantAnyway, flight boarding.06:02
* wgrant vanishes.06:02
Kamping_Kaisergl, enjoy06:04

gusgI'm trying to push a branch of a project on launchpad, but it looks like the project on launchpad is using an older version of Bazaar, so I get an error "different rich-root support"12:28

frafuHello, I am an administrator of a team in launchpad. The team has several members. Could anybody please tell me whether launchpad provides an email address that can be used for the team?13:44
frafuI can for example imagine, that launchpad provides an email like <team-name@launchpad.net> that would direct any email sent to that address to every member of the team.13:48
frafuthat would direct any email sent to that address to every member of the team?13:49
PengWell, it supports mailing lists.13:51
maxbTeam admins can contact team members via a web form.14:03
maxbIf the team is set up with a launchpad mailing list, you can send email to that, which will reach the subset of members who are subscribed to the list14:03
maxbThere's no direct email interface to contacting an entire team14:03
frafumaxb: Thanks for the answer. Is there a reason why this has not been implemented? Should I file a bug requesting the feature?14:08
maxbPersonally I do not think it would be a useful feature14:13
maxbIt would open up a new channel to be abused by spam, and there is no reason to be contacting all team members, for the vast majority of Launchpad teams.14:14
maxbFor those that do, there's the existing mailing list feature14:14
frafumaxb: In fact, the team I had in mind was the devel team of the application named Onboard hosted on launchpad. The idea was to use the contact address of the team for the Onboard application.14:22
frafumaxb: A mailing list only moves the spamming problem to the list, I suppose.14:23
maxbfrafu: well yes, but the existing mailing list infrastructure takes care of users (un)subscribing whilst remaining membrs of the team, and archiving14:51
frafumaxb: It might be worth setting up a mailing list for Onboard. I will have to think about it. Thanks for your help and explanations.15:11
xexaxo_hi guys and gals16:52
xexaxo_for a while now I've been involded with the nouveau project and I've noticed that some lauchpad "users" are too busy to actually state their issue on fd.o16:55
xexaxo_eg. Ubuntu(mostly) user has an issue and report it to launchpad, after a while he/she get refered to bugs.fd.o16:56
xexaxo_*note*, the user(s) do not know at all how to report bugs, they simply write a single line and link to launchpad16:57
xexaxo_do not know = have not checked the clearly defined "How to report bugs section"16:58
xexaxo_I don't believe it's an launchpad issue although #ubuntu people had reffered me to this channel16:59
xexaxo_after all this rant, I would like to ask you only one thing16:59
xexaxo_Would you mind explaining to the users that launchpad and fd.o are different things, so that they take a look at the guides/rules/recommendations first17:00
xexaxo_omw, my statements sound/look horrible18:11
xexaxo_if someone did understood them, and is able to assist that would be appreciated18:12

SteveExodusdput ppa:your-lp-id/ppa <source.changes>18:53
SteveExodusshould be ... dput ppa:your-lp-id/your-ppa <source.changes>18:53
maxbthat's a very obscure difference18:58
maxbAnd, the default ppa is called "ppa"18:58
SteveExodusit isnt19:00
SteveExodusppa: in the fron19:00
SteveExodusppa at the end19:00
SteveExodusnew users like myself will put ppa:steve-bush/ppa19:01
SteveExodusand easy to change I assume19:01
SteveExodusVisit your PPA's overview page and follow the instructions in the Uploading packages to this PPA section.19:05
SteveExodusbut the section is missing so one is left guessing what to put for "ppa:your-lp-id/ppa"19:06
SteveExodusexodus:steve-bush/ppa or ppa:steve-bush/exodus ... neither of which work19:07
SteveExodusi know what to put by experimentation19:07
AmpelbeinSteveExodus: http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshot-06252011-080739pm.php shows a "Uploading packages to this PPA" section19:09
SteveExodusthat section is missing from my page ... it skips down to Adding this PPA to your system19:11
SteveExodustrying to upload an image19:11
SteveExodushttp://en.zimagez.com/zimage/xyz1.php19:19
AmpelbeinSteveExodus: that's interesting.19:23
