[17:47] <FiReSTaRT> which involved turning off the boot helpers and having to press esc at the boot screen to have it allow me to select the option to boot off the memory stick
[17:48] <FiReSTaRT> now it's happily running maverick (in the middle of its first update, after i did all of the hardware fixes)
