jack_^ | I'm having a network problem at home. I have a 2 machines with an ethernet port which is 10/100/1000. I have 2 switches at 10/100/1000 and 2 cables that i've been testing with. If I use machine 1 and plug it into switch 1, i get 100Mbps. if i take machine1 plug it into switch2, it gets 1000Mbps. If i take machine2 and plug it into switch1 or switch2 they both show 1000Mbps. Does this regardless of the cable and i've tested all ports on switch1. Why | 21:28 |
jack_^ | will machine1 NOT auto-negotiate to 1000Mbps with switch1?!!?!?? argh! | 21:28 |
* _marx_ has such bad font corruption some of that doesn't make sense | 21:32 | |
holstein | are you sure both are gigabit boxes? | 21:35 |
holstein | i gotta say, that statement is like one of those math problems | 21:46 |
holstein | its like a big run-on messs | 21:46 |
holstein | anyways, looks like some incompatibility maybe with the switch 1 hardware and the machine 1 hardware | 21:47 |
