=== scott_ is now known as Guest86388 [04:58] i am currently using ubuntu, what should be done to convert it to ubuntustudio? [06:06] axscode: hey [06:06] *if* you want to convert, check out [06:06] !vanilla [06:06] To install Ubuntu Studio on top of a vanilla Ubuntu install, read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuStudio/Installation [06:06] peronsally, i suggest opening a package manager, like synaptic, and search ubuntustudio [06:06] read about the pacakges [06:06] and *dont* get the ones that deal with the theme [06:07] then, you wont have your desktop changed up on you [06:07] you dont have to install any of the metas [06:07] for example, if you want to do audio recording, you can do one of 2 things [06:08] you can just install what you want, like ardour and jack and whatever else [06:08] OR, you can install ubuntustudio-audio and ubuntustudio-audio-plugins [06:08] IF you get ubuntustudio-desktop, that will really change your environment [06:09] and if you want that, go for it, but its not necessary to take advantage of the software that ubuntustudio uses [06:14] actually im using ubuntustudio, but during installation, i didnot install the suggested packages for videos/audios/graphics and realized after that i need to have those [06:15] yeah, then you can install ubuntustudio-audio/ubuntustudio-audio-plugins/whatever [06:15] It takes a while to load obviously but they're all cool [06:15] ok where can i see these lists? [06:16] Ubuntu Software Center? [06:16] because i found nothing in group of studio [06:18] axscode: i havent tried the software center [06:18] but, in synaptic it works [06:18] and also [06:18] sudo apt-cache search ubuntustudio [06:18] synaptic = apt? [06:18] axscode: not really... go for synaptic at first :) [06:19] syrry where is that. [06:19] system - administration [06:19] OR, you can hit alt+F2 [06:19] and type in synaptic [06:19] actually... that wont work.. [06:19] you need sudo synaptic [06:20] just do system - administration - synatpic :) [06:28] ah ok ok [09:47] hi! [09:47] any spanish here? [11:09] i'm searching for papers for this event -> http://gpul.org/?q=es/node/227 [11:09] anyone interested? [11:09] thanks!
