[11:05] Morning. [11:07] morning JonathanD [11:08] morning rmg51 [11:08] o/ [11:08] I believe teddy should give a talk on how bears can contribute to foss. [11:08] I could invite our friends from NJ's woods ;) [11:10] rmg51: how are ya? :P [11:11] I'm good [11:12] Teddy wants to know if you will right a talk for him [11:13] to early in the morning to spell write ;-) [11:27] yes :P [12:49] so JonathanD agrees to be ghost writer for teddy ? [13:06] wait... JonathanD did you see any bears this past weekend? [13:55] I only see another bear when I look in a mirror :-D [14:00] Must be lonely [14:06] that's not counting the other teddy bears in the apt [14:10] andrew: nope. [14:13] Then it wasn't a true geeknic++ [14:13] better luck next time [14:13] andrew: there was something stomping around in the woods saturday night. [14:14] That was your son. [16:16] andrew: perhaps [16:16] andrew: would you be up for ricketts glen? [16:18] when? [16:18] Now [16:18] andrew: september, perhaps. [16:21] Who here is from the lehigh valley area? [16:26] jthan [16:26] Thats right. [16:26] jthan: hi. [20:03] JonathanD: hello sir [20:04] JonathanD: been to ricketts glen. Very nice area.. Lot of bears [20:13] jthan: would you be interested in going back as part of a geeknic? [20:13] also, do you know anyone at lvlug? [20:14] Very true about RG, I was there once and bears visited our campsite in the middle of the night [20:15] bears++ [20:15] also, pics from my last visit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ahotw/sets/72157625117816623/ [20:15] Title: Ricketts Glen 2010 - a set on Flickr (at www.flickr.com) [20:15] pleia2: any bears in SF? [20:15] only at the zoo [20:16] but they tell me there are coyotes in golden gate park [20:16] pleia2: Opinions on Google+? [20:16] it confuses me more than facebook [20:17] pleia2: that's only because according to google you only have a handful of friends [20:18] the people who are on google+ are the ones I know how to talk to properly, it's like diaspora [20:18] useless [20:18] 'talk to properly'? [20:19] on irc, email, in person [20:19] I see, IRC is proper, good to know. [20:19] not like family and old friends who are not geeks and I have to do horrible things like call them to get an update [20:19] facebook is good for keeping up without having to use a phone [20:20] On that logic, I'd have to say that for it to survive and thrive, they will have to find a way to get the common people using it [20:20] yep [20:20] Does anyone use Google Buzz? [20:20] no [20:21] no [20:21] that is a waste [20:21] just checking [20:21] JonathanD: Uhh lets see. I would go back - but I need a good amount of notice with two jobs to take off of and what not [20:21] I think google+ is better than wave, but not by much [20:21] not like we're going right now, but :-P [20:21] jthan: september [20:21] or tomorrow [20:21] not sure which [20:21] :p [20:21] LVLUG.. I'm on their mailing list.. very inactive [20:21] ok. [20:22] I've never been to a meeting. the one place they meet once a month maybe is right up the road from my cousin. I want to go, just never seems to work out [22:23] Seven months ago I dual booted a "friends" laptop with Xubuntu 10.04 over Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Yesterday, she had an issue with something, and deleted Xubuntu. Now she has a pet rock, and wants me to fix it. I'm at a grub rescue prompt, suggestions? [22:24] How did she "delete" Xubuntu? [22:37] if she just removed the line from grub, it should be fairly easy to fix [22:40] super grub disk would be easiest, should see win partition and then that can boot... [22:40] or boot win install disk, do rescue and fixmbr and start over [22:41] grub2? [22:41] Rumor has it grub2 is nasty, jedijf [22:41] darn [22:42] forget grub2 [22:42] Okay. [22:42] grub2 is https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2 [22:42] Title: Grub2 - Community Ubuntu Documentation (at help.ubuntu.com) [22:42] all this feedback, no replies [22:43] n2diy_: Are you getting this? [22:43] n2diy_: read that ^^^ it will help you see what grub sees
