[17:55] <TheMuso> The unity panel service is quite different from most if not all other implementations, because it doesn't actually draw the panel/indicators itself.
[17:56] <TheMuso> Maybe the xfce panel indicator applet is something else to look at, although that is not using GTk2 either.
