[20:29] morning [21:26] morning [21:27] Morning [21:31] mornings [21:49] Chilly [21:50] heh, I haven't been called Chilly for ages, it's usually chilts but I'll still respond :) [21:51] not as cold as it was last week [21:51] Probably the best frost we've had here this morning [21:51] and although hardly noticeable .. we are on the up side again .. days getting longer [21:52] yay [21:53] though it doesn't feel like we've had much of winter yet [21:53] true .. it seems winter really starts once the days get longer [21:53] a few frosts down here & that's about it [21:53] but I also did see something about a mild winter this year [21:53] Hmm, my fonts in Chromium are all weird this morning. [21:54] http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/5216653/Sorry-skiers-winter-outlook-mild [21:54] not just sorry to skiers, but quite a few businesses in queenstown & other skiiing centres [21:54] The ones who were already struggling. [21:55] Actual [21:55] -1.5°C [21:55] Feels like -4°c [21:55] right, since quite a few tourists fly into christchurch & go from there [21:55] those that 'survive' over the summer break and then get hammered by bad weather [22:58] morning [22:58] it was pretty cold at the hut i was at in the tararuas on sunday morning :) [23:01] which hut? [23:09] mitre flats [23:10] morning [23:11] oh yes, that's a nice one for sitting in a valley that collects the cold [23:12] was very pretty though, and it cleared before we went to bed so we could see the stars [23:13] nice .. of course seeing the stars means that the morning will be a bit frostier [23:27] Damn. Left a console.log statement in some JS last night. Breaking things for lots% of people that don't use Chrome/Safari or have Firebug installed. [23:29] mōrena koutou [23:32] hads: I've seen people set console.log to function() {} (if it doesn't already exist), so that it'll never kill IE [23:32] (even though you'd probably remove those console.log() statements anyway) [23:33] it one line: if (typeof console == "undefined") var console = { log: function() {} }; // or something similar [23:33] Thanks, I do recall seeing that somewhere also. Probably a good safegaurd against late Sunday evening code pushes. [23:34] yeah, I don't use it yet, but as the first line of the first of your own scripts, it seems like a half-decent idea [23:34] it's kinda like a protection thing, even though you know you're meant to remove all references to it :)
